DRTA and the new guidelines from the DR company
What's the situation?
spi*echun released guidelines for when you make fanworks for their licensed works, and one rule prohibited use of all assets from the mainline games. DRTA uses various assets from the original, and that would mean that from now on Kurono would have to work on all assets himself. To mention a few assets that can no longer be used, we have: backgrounds, sound effects, background music, and voice clips (for the headmaster in particular)
What now?
Kurono said he's going to complete chapter 3 no matter what on twitter, but as for ch4 onwards, we have this statement for now
This translates as
"Having to do work on all resources alone would be costly in multiple ways, so from ch4 onwards…I'd say it's about striking a balance Wherever practible, I want to leave behind a story that has taken some shape at least… I will leave a formal comment in the future"
We can assume it will be virtually impossible for DRTA to continue as if nothing happened
What can we do?
What Kurono has explicitly asked for help with at the current stage is sound effects. However, I personally believe that other assets such as backgrounds and background music will probably be needed too for the series to continue, and if so, I (again, personally) believe it would be nice if people willing to do it volunteered, and it is my selfish hope that with enough volunteers the series might keep going as it always did, and without Kurono overworking himself. So, I think it would be nice to share the news with people who might be interested. It would be free work, and the volunteers will certainly have to be in tune with Japanese otaku culture and the general attitude towards fan works. In the end it would also be up to Kurono, I'm just making this request very selfishly…but thank you for reading. I hope the project will be able to survive, be it through volunteers or in some other shape.
If anyone is interested I recommend to contact Kurono either through Twitter DMs or e-mail
I got permission from Kurono Pencil (DRTA creator) to translate their tweets and Marshmallow answers related to DRTA, so I made a doc. It doesn't include every single answer and tweet for obvious reasons, but there are still a lot of interesting ones, and I'm updating the doc regularly.
You can check it here.

The next DRTA part will release on January 11th on NicoNico!
This is part 1 of the chapter 3 investigation. Once part 2 is out on NicoNico both investigation parts will be uploaded on YouTube together.
I can't wait!
But I can't take a peak on NicoNico since I want to stream the new YouTube parts~
Various videos involving the DRTA VAs have been translated! Enjoy!
Reposting this from my Twitter, since this is a detail I want to make known. Spoilers for ch3 of the fan series DRTA
I planned to leave a translation note for this but it's taking me awfully long, so I'll just talk about it like this. In the first screenshot, the "me" is an "ore" (ruder pronoun, the one used for his Hate Box recording), while in the second, the 'I' is a "boku" (less rude pronoun, he used to stick to this before revealing his true colors).
It's worth mentioning that while Seki switches between the two pronouns pretty often after the second trial, the original writing decided to highlight it here.
I used " for one and ' for the other to highlight this difference in English, but that might be a little too subtle (especially compared to the og text), and might just be shrugged off as me being inconsistent.
Have been silent for a while but I'm working on stuff! Mainly side content involving the voice actors. One has been translated, proofread and sent, while another has been only translated and proofread. There's also a third one I'm working on at the moment.
I might also share some translation notes and fun facts about DRTA in the near future.
If there's anything you're curious about concerning DRTA and its translation, you may also ask me directly! It's fun!
English subs for After the After II are now availble on youtube! Enjoy some characters and their voice actors answering some questions! The focus this time is on Seki and Amagaya and their voice actors, alongside Hodaka, Miharu's voice actress!
Oh hey, were you the one doing the latest translations for DRTA? Big kudos, they're really good! As someone who has done translation work, I appreciate how difficult it is to be both faithful to the source material and avoid sounding awkward o7o7o7
It's me indeed! Thank you for your compliment, it makes me very happy! DRTA can be quite tough to translate with all the wordplay in it, but I love it so much, I just couldn't leave it untranslated
Translation for After the After I is out! Enjoy the characters and their voice actors answering some questions from viewers!
Retranslated parts 2 and 3 for the DRTA prologue since the previous subs had some pretty major issues (2 in particular). If you watched these parts with the previous english subs, I recommend a rewatch.
