Rec of the Week: “alison & gabriel (liaison) | our love is a ghost” fanvid

Sometimes you see your hyperfixations coming, and sometimes they’re completely unexpected. I had never even heard of Apple TV’s French spy drama Liaison when I tuned into this edit from @simplymaterial. But within moments I was hooked and needed to watch the 6-episode show ASAP, which is exactly what I did.

Alison and Gabriel’s relationship, depicted beautifully in this fanvid, is fascinating in its complexity. Neither wishes to be drawn to the other, but it’s like wishing the sun won’t set: futile. Despite the hurt and betrayals in their past, Alison and Gabriel’s love is pure. You can see it in their quiet moments as much as in their grand gestures of self-sacrifice.

Come for the hauntingly romantic song and stay for the intense love story playing out amid an international conspiracy…

Rec of the Week: “we can’t be friends” vid (Ellimax)

Wild Cards is, without a doubt, my favorite new show of the year, and I’m thrilled Max and Ellis will be back for a second season with 13 episodes. (They deserve 22, but…baby steps?!)

Whenever I need a quick hit of Ellimax to get me through this hiatus, I watch this edit to “we can’t be friends” by olivarry force and I feel better. May it work the same magic on you.
