Beautiful red hen made out of chicken wire by Helen Godfrey Wire Sculpture i have seen this shared around chicken pages on facebook.
I really liked this hen so i went to the artists page and I am floored at the skill and beauty of these sculptures. Anyone who has built anything with the help of chicken wire knows that it is not an easy material to work with but this artist is able to make very realistic organic shapes with it. I love the softness, i love the wire people and how the wild birds use them as perches.
Mother duck with duckling
Runner beans, they are so funny and whimsical
Sculptures about to go to their new home, the hare and owl are amazing and the guineas look just like the real thing lol
A beautiful barn owl
A cute little wren
The wire women. I love how soft their curves are
Im so thankful that i got to see this artists work its so sweet.
Here is her store page but i dont think she has any new sculptures up yet.
Welcome to my new online shop! I will be aiming to keep this shop stocked with wire robins & will occasionally have other items for sale

I just got The Art of Star Wars: The High Republic book, and there’s a quote from Ian McCaig I really liked.
“Here’s the thing about the Force — maybe it’s just my interpretation of it, but I thought it was something George [Lucas] told us back on The Phantom Menace: There was no light [versus] dark side of the Force. The dark side is part of the Force. What keeps it in balance is saying no to it, allowing it to do what it does, to warn and to frighten and to guide us through our dark emotions, and then you’re using all of the Force, not just one little piece, which is where the dark side always goes wrong. But what [the Jedi are] calling the light side is the entirety of the Force.”
I just like this because of the idea of some pretentious Sith going “we have embraced all of the Force while you pathetic Jedi sit around with your narrow-minded idea—“ and then there’s this guy saying “well ACTUALLY”
Oh my god that’s genius
Like, the whole purpose of fear as an emotion is to warn you of danger and to keep you alive. So it makes sense that the purpose of the dark side of the force is to warn you of danger and keep you alive. But then sith twist it, and instead of using the dark side as a way to warn and protect others as well, they’re using it specifically to gain power over others.
It’s like the difference between a parent telling their child something scary to keep them safe (“don’t go in the road/touch the stove/wander into the woods at night”), vs an abuser telling their victim something scary to manipulate the victim into staying with their abuser (think Mother Gothel’s song in Tangled)
Tonight’s sketch victim is Agen Kolar. Once again spired by the works of @blackkatmagic, specifically “efface the footprints in the sands” which I LOVED.
The second image is less a specific scene and more of a vibe for the latter half of that fic… i remember the Eldritch Chagrian being described as big but I don’t recall if he was meant to be *this* big but uuuhhhhhh this is what my mind cooked up!
I was also debating making some fanart for eastward and moonwhite (soft-petaled wounds) but I ran out of steam. Perhaps next time 👀

Agen Kolar for @coline7373
Not technically what you prompted a while back, but I did promise you an Agen at some point
Agen is such an underrated character, honestly
Gotta tell you guys something wild in the Chinese fan sphere
So some fanartist drew a “sexy” (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because it’s kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what they’re into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their “opponents’” accounts.
So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a children’s education charity via each side’s portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.
And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the “freedom of expression” side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)
From now on this is how all petty fandom disputes should be settled.
Pride sharks! Happy pride month :D more super cute pride flags themed sharks coming soon 👀
Too much sainted dad Jaster the ecosystem is suffering. Let that Mandalorian warlord rip out a few throats!! Let him be the ruthless sort of bastard who hands a little kid a bomb and tells him to use it!!
Every piece of Star Wars media I consume just keeps proving that Anakin did have lots of choices. He just made bad choices instead of engaging in a little self-awareness and working on his problems.
Other folks had big problems and tragedies and nasty flaws, and they attacked those things once they got a good look at how messed up they were. They searched out answers, asked for advice, and applied themselves to changing for the better.
Like, this guy had so many people in the Jedi Order who liked him and offered him companionship and support and tips that helped them with things he so obviously struggles with…
It’s like he wanted to burn his whole life down and take everything good with him.
Any time some flaw came to Anakin’s notice, he either:
A). Ignored it.
B). Blamed it on someone else.
C). Superficially worked on it for a short time, and then gave up or something because it was hard.
This talented kid had it in him to live the coolest life ever, to achieve so many great things, to live such a full and happy life on the Jedi path, but he didn’t because it took work. “Lesser” Jedi did more good and had more satisfying and productive lives with less power at their disposal simply because they put in the work on bettering themselves on the inside.
Giving in to the darkness inside yourself is a choice.
Anakin could have been great.
He just couldn’t manage to discipline himself while he had people rooting for him and wishing him all the best. He couldn’t get over his own selfish bent.
