It sure is! The television is the only personal possession Vincent appears to have brought into the Gustafson home, and it is explicitly an information system on the urban domain, so that when he leaves the world of the job he does not have to relinquish full access to it. He plunks it right on the dinner table to watch the news while eating a chicken leg with no plate (lol). He invades the sanctity of the domestic sphere with what amounts to a cathode ray periscope. Even when he is with Justine, his attention is not fully devoted to her. He keeps an eyeball out.

When he kicks it out of the car by the bus stop, the act symbolizes his commitment to a life lived fully “on the street.” It’s aggressive and cathartic, sure. But he also just doesn’t need it anymore.
