“‘You don’t like me do you?’ Jamie inquires boldly, voice low as she exhales a plume of smoke in Dani’s direction. Dani huffs quietly and smiles nervously, fully expecting Jamie to be merely quipping her, but she keeps that look on her face which has not a tinge of tease apparent in it. Still, she wears that rakish smirk and those eyes. Eyes that are obscured by the dark but somehow gleam just perfectly under the moonlight to reveal that intent stare. Staring at her as if she’s known Dani all along, knows every bit of her. Every intricacy, every intention. Is fully aware that Dani is skeptical of her, disappointed even that this is the woman she was ordained to meet. Dani has not a clue what to say.”

Dani, a timid, uncertain grad student, and Jamie, a witty, aloof photographer, are polar opposites brought together by two friends. Ultimately, they clash, but somehow they keep finding their way back to each other.

someone on r/legaladvice was sick of their coworker stealing their food out of the fridge so they started labeling it “POISON - DO NOT EAT” in sharpie on both the bag and the food’s wrapper every day and the person still kept stealing it so after a week they added a bunch of laxatives to their food and the thief had to go to the hospital and could possibly sue OP. the general consensus was that OP was technically objectively in the wrong from a legal standpoint but there is 0% chance of them being convicted in criminal court because that would require finding 12 jurors who would rule in favor of someone stealing food labeled “POISON - DO NOT EAT” and then getting poisoned

Everything Leads to You - Hollywood f/f YA about a young set designer who falls for a girl she meets under mysterious circumstances

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet - ensemble-cast “crew of a spaceship” story. Mostly just random adventures, includes a f/f couple who survive the book.

Roller Girl - contemporary f/f romance about trans woman who joins a roller derby team

Not fluffy, but the angst is SFF-stress rather than “living under homophobia/biphobia” stress:

Ascension - queer disabled ladies fighting Big Pharma in space–you wanted space bi’s, come get your space bi’s (actually, if you want more space bi’s also check out the anthology Fierce Family.)

Chameleon Moon - review is of an earlier edition and I hear the new one has even more great representation. Trans woman superhero with two female partners living in a dystopian city that’s on lockdown from the government after everyone develops mutant powers in response to a wonderdrug.

Not Your Sidekick - in the future, what happens when your parents are superheroes but you never developed powers? You intern for the baddie, of course! MC is bi and ends up in a f/f relationship, and the sequel will star her trans bestie.
