After just over a month of work I finally finished my Knight Dominus, I'm immensely proud of this and I'll consider it my greatest work on a model for some time. Close-ups of the guardsman + some lore under the cut:

The Skyblaze, a freeblade Knight Dominus, is a mysterious entity appearing and disappearing at a moment's notice. But to the Ben Nevisan 13th, a regiment with a reputation for their experience against the Great Enemy who constantly assail their home, they know it as one thing: Their Guardian.

Appearing when they are in their greatest need, The Skyblaze stands forth as both rally point and bastion for the 13th, enabling them to continue fighting well beyond what they would have been able to otherwise.

No one knows who pilots this mysterious protector, or why it defends the 13th of Ben Nevis so fiercely. But the strangest thing about this particular knight is that even if it falls in battle, it soon appears anew, with only a few small scars on it's carapace whenever the 13th needs their guardian once more.

(And now for some IRL lore: I bought this for a random paint challenge at my local warhammer store and went a bit nuts over it lmao, it's probably the most fun I've ever had working on a warhammer model. If I ever do a guard army I am absolutely using this paint scheme as this was really fun to do as well)

Having "a lot" of followers on tumblr is funny because probably 80% of them are ghost blogs who haven't been on here in like a decade.

It's like, no no, those aren't my followers, that's a graveyard! I'm the caretaker of a thousands of tombs. I love them, but they've been dead for seven years.

Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.

He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"

"What?"

He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"

"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."

Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.

Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.

Trying to find an old tumblr post I used to see a lot.

It started with someone listing "places with uncanny energy," like gas stations on a road trip, empty movie theaters, etc.

Then someone reblogged it and said those are called "liminal spaces," defining liminal as in-between, neither one thing nor another.

It was the first time I'd seen the term "liminal" applied to places like that, and it's driving me crazy, I want to find and put a date on it so bad.

when you are on a date, and someone has an interest you don't quite get, instead of saying lol lame, try saying hmm i don't quite get that, please explain that to me, and then listen as the other person talks about why that thing is something they are in to.

you might learn something which recontextualizes the matter, and you will definitely learn something more about your date, which is the entire point of dating.

you don't have to be a superfan by the end, but you will have shown you can be chill and take an interest in stuff, which is much more likely to result in a second date instead of being ditched in a coffee line.
