Michelle Satterlee of @dressedtomatch, March 2017.
No one expected it to happen, but Creeper Lagoon, who disbanded shortly after releasing their LP Take Back the Universe and Give Me Yesterday on a major label in 2001, ended their retirement for one last job. Specifically, two shows on February 26, 2017, at Bottom of the Hill for Noise Pop’s 25th anniversary. Both shows sold out, and according to the thank-you section in the songbook the band handed out after the show—it included the lyrics and chords of the whole setlist so fans can keep their music alive after Creeper returns to its indefinite hibernation—the band members reunited so their kids could see them play. The indie rock progeny of Sharky Laguana, Ian Sefchick, David Kostiner and Dan Carr surrounded the stage for their afternoon show, and were invited onstage for a “dance party” with their dads near the end of the set for “Dear Deadly.”
The band sounded as good as it did 17 years ago. Maybe even better. They are scheduled to play one more show in Los Angeles on March 3.

A herd of kiko goats mowing a field, the old-fashioned and environmentally friendly and adorable way. And magical, too, because rainbow goatee.
