The Cure guitarist Perry Bamonte dies
The Cure legend Perry Bamonte has passed away at 65 after a short illness over Christmas 2025.
Perry Bamonte's career began as a roadie, and he became a full member of The Cure between 1990 and 2005, participating in all their releases, from Play Out (1991) to The Cure (2004).
The guitarist and keyboardist who shaped albums like Wish, Wild Mood Swings & Bloodflowers during this period. Where he made key contributions to hits such as "Friday I'm in Love," "Trust," and "Pictures of You.".
And from my experience with The Cure, Perry contributed to some of my favorite albums and songs by the band such as "Doing the unstock" from Wish album and "There Is No If" from Bloodflowers.
He was present during The Cure's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the class of 2019, where Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) was the Inductor for the band. The Cure was included alongside other bands such as Radiohead, Def Leppard and The Zombies.
After Perry parted ways with the band in 2005, Bamonte rejoined The Cure in 2022 for their extensive Shows of a Lost World tour.
I've had the opportunity to see The Cure maybe two or three occasions, the last time in 2023 during this tour where Perry was present
So, to close this post in memory of this great musician who was part of this great band, I'm leaving an additional song for you to enjoy.
