MY MUSE IS SICK AND IS UNWILLING TO TAKE ANY MEDICATION BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING A BIG BABY. SEND A 💊 TO SHOVE MEDICINE IN TO MY MUSES MOUTH. { @leiiaisms }

This was typical sick Han behavior. Constantly getting out of bed, trying to do stuff. Leia had put him to bed quiet a few times but he kept crawling out. Currently she had him in bed with Chewie standing watch. In his fever addled stated he’d called Chewie a traitor. 

Now Leia was trying to get him to take medicine which Han seriously hated medicine. The only medicine he liked was the alcoholic kind. He fought her off, or tried to. Eventually she got the meds in his mouth and he had no choice but to swallow. 

“Fuck, Leia…” He groaned and tried to roll away.

Having a child was suppose to be the most joyful thing a person could experience Han loved Ben. He loved Ben completely and utterly, but that didn’t mean that Ben was easy. The now nine year old had been terrible as a baby with the constant crying that only ceased when Ben tuckered himself out or he wanted it to stop. Then they had trouble when he was a toddler. He refused to speak for a long time, and didn’t like to engage in activities. He was just a difficult child all around until around age six when he started to mellow. But there was always something about Ben that had Han on edge, had him worried. As much as he didn’t want to admit it something was off about his son. 

Since Ben had gotten a little better Han had lost some of that feeling but it was coming back. Ben was starting to display the same kind of thing he used to do when he was younger. It was hard, and Han could tell what a toll it took on Leia. As he sat with Ben fixing a part of the Falcon, a part that he had broken on purpose but Han didn’t tell that to Leia. He glanced up when he saw his wife start to leave. He moved the tools out of the way, back in their box, and told Ben to go play for a second. Ben huffed and looked around ready to throw a fit but Han was up and leaving before the boy could get a scream out. 

“Leia?” He asked softly as he headed down the ramp. He was cleaning his hands off with the rag he had in his pocket as he approached her. “You okay, sweetheart?” He asked gently.

Why wasn’t this part of her life any easier? She had fought to save the Galaxy from the Empire, she’d witnessed Luke take on the role of Jedi – helped him find others who would now train with him. The balance was supposed to be restored and yet the dark side called out to her son. It was something she could feel whenever she was around him, from the day he had been born there had been threat lurking above them all. Now that he was nine, her fears were beginning to shine through within him - his rage was growing again and in some ways, Leia knew that Han could sense something too. It wasn’t that he had any connection through the force, it was just obvious with the way their son reacted to things. 

Leia sighed heavily as she heard Han approaching her, tears being help back just as they always were. “I’m fine” she was not fine and she knew he wouldn’t accept that – he knew her better than that and it wouldn’t be long before she would tell him everything. For all of these years Leia had been holding on to the truth about the dark side, wanting Han to just have a normal relationship with Ben but she was now certain it wouldn’t make any difference. “I’m not fine but I can’t tell you why – I want to, I just don’t know how to or if I should” she turned back to him, the tears weren’t falling but her eyes glistened with the threat of them. “I’m scared Han –I’m scared that I have held on to something for too long and now it might be too late to really fix it” Leia walked towards him “you love Ben, don’t you?”

Han could see Leia’s struggle every day with Ben. It was hard not to alienate their son for all the pain he was causing them. He hated this. It had becomes such a problem. This wasn’t how life was suppose to go for them. Their weren’t suppose to be struggling because of their son. It was suppose to be good now. They had fought battles and a war, cleaned up the galaxy, rebuilt the Republic. Yet now they were struggling with a whole new evil, the kind that grew in their little boy. Han didn’t like thinking like that. He didn’t like thinking of his son as ‘evil’. It wasn’t that Ben was just evil, it was the Dark Side inside of him. Han had wasn’t attuned to the Force but it wasn’t hard to see Ben was wrestling with someone inside him. Ben was just a boy, this wasn’t his fault. He shouldn’t have to deal with this.

“Of course I love Ben,” Han looked at her sadly. “I mean, I know...he’s not the best behaved kid. He’s had his troubles but I love him. He’s our son. I’d do literally anything for him.” He frowned as he looked at Leia. He took her hand in his. “You can tell me why, Leia. You can talk to me about this. Whatever is going on with our son...we need to talk about it. If you know something you need to tell me or we won’t be able to help him. We love Ben. We would do anything for him.” Han knew he could speak for Leia in that sense. He knew they both loved their son, and would do anything for him. “It’s never to late to try.”

Han was all wrapped up in the blanket but still felt so cold. He was shivering still, and was sure that Leia could tell when she got closer. The first touch of Leia to him made him feel warm for the first time since he woke up. His breath hitched in his throat. He leaned into her touch and untangled his hand from the blanket so he could touch her hand on his face. As scared as he was her touch eased him. 

“…Yeah. It’s fine,” he sighed. Han was just glad that Leia was here. He kissed her back and felt so much better. “I just…I heard your voice.” He frowned. “And I just needed you. Sorry…” He sighed. “I feel…okay, I guess. I mean other than being freezing and not able to see they say I’m in good shape. They said physically other than those two things I’m fine.” He sighed. “I can leave. They just didn’t want me stumbling out on my own.” He felt the cold return and started shivering again. “I just…I’d like a shower, new clothes, and some food to be honest.” And my sigh back but eh. That can wait…” He tried making a joke out of it.

A sad sigh escaped her lips as she moved closer to him, trying to share her own body heat. It felt surreal to see him this way, to feel him shaking beside her and knowing that he was scared about what was happening to him. Leia couldn’t make any sense of it and hoped that they would find a way to bring his sight back – it was unfair for him to have to deal with this permanently. “Don’t be sorry for needing me, Han – I’ve needed you on more than one occasion, it’s my turn to be here for YOU now. I’m not going to vanish again, I’ll be right beside you whenever you need me”. She leaned over and kissed his cheek, her eyes tearing up slightly as she felt his cold skin against hers. 

“I think we can get you all of those things” she stood up and grabbed a thicker blanket, wrapping it around his shoulders. “Chewie is outside, he’s going to help me get you back to the Falcon – I can guide you all the way but I probably won’t be able to catch you if I miss read something and you trip” she let out a slight laugh but that soon changed to tears. “I’m sorry” she wiped them away instantly and helped him to his feet “so we’ll go get you showered, dressed and fed. All things I can definitely help you with” she waited until he was stood and wrapped her arms around him, burying her face against his chest “just give me a moment.”

Leia’s heat warmed his spirit but not his body. The doctors said he’d be very cold for awhile because his core body temp was still struggling to come up. Having her close to him though made him feel so much better. He was picturing the last time he saw her. In Cloud City. She looked so beautiful. He smiled a little at the thought. “It’s okay. I’m...they say my sight has a good chance of coming back so...it’ll all be fine soon.” Even as he said that he was sure she could detect how scared he sounded. 

The thicker blanket was welcomed. He pulled the blanket in close and nodded. “Okay. Chewie is okay, right? And Lando and Luke?” He asked. “I asked when we got back to base but no one would really tell me anything.” He frowned when he heard her starting to cry. He reached up to blindly search for her face with his hand, finding her cheek quickly. He brushed the tears away. “It’s okay. You have to cry ‘cause I’m too macho to do it.” He chuckled sadly. He stood up with her and wrapped his arms (and the blankets) around her. “It’s gonna be okay, Leia...”

Han - Original Trilogy Vs The Force Awakens

There it was again. The feeling of darkness that seemed to surround her son, the feeling that he was being pulled away from them. He was only a young boy, he didn’t know enough about the force but Leia was slowly beginning to understand it. She was becoming more connected to the way it worked, mostly feeling the thoughts that plagued Ben’s mind. It was something she had been feeling for most of his life, always sensing that something was different about him or that someone was watching over him. Normally having someone watch over a child was a good thing but this was a dark being, something evil that lurked – awaiting the day when they’d be able to take her son away from her. 

She could feel her own emotions stirring as she glanced over to Ben, he sat beside Han as they worked on a part for the Falcon. They seemed to be a perfectly normal family – father and son bonding over simple things. Leia wanted their life to remain that way but her fears were screaming out to her – so loud within her mind that she quickly stood and walked out, not saying a word to the other two. She didn’t want to worry Han about any of it, she didn’t want him to treat their child any different because of her fears. In most ways, she feared that telling Han would only force Ben to become the dark soul she could feel him becoming. Leia stepped out of the Falcon and wandered out into the darkness, they were in a secluded area not far from the resistance base. This was her space, somewhere she could have normality while the intelligence worked to rebuild the Galaxy. A shiver passed through her body as she stood there, trying to rid her mind of all fears and negativity.
