have a little sugar daddy au. as a treat.
At seven fifteen pm, Natasha materializes in his office and gives him a stern look, so he shuts off his computer and takes her to dinner. “Alright,” she says, as their sushi arrives. “You might as well tell me.” “Tell you what?” Bradley asks. “Don’t play dumb,” she says. “It doesn’t suit you.” “Fine. He captivated me with his cheap shirt and his pretty face and by not knowing who I was.” “Bradshaw.” “He didn’t!” “They always know,” she says, jabbing chopsticks in his direction. “Some of them are just better at hiding it. You’ve been in the Forbes top ten since you were twenty-six.” “Not everybody is reading the World’s Billionaires List for fun, Nat,” Bradley points out. “And lucky for those people, you’re also a regular in the tabloids,” Nat says, fixing him with a look that makes it clear exactly how she feels about the fact. Bradley would argue that at least fifty percent of the time, it’s not his fault he’s featured.

my specialty is liking the same movies that 50-year-old dads like but in a way that would instantly send those dads into cardiac arrest if they heard me talk about them

The last week month have been insane, culminating in one of my best friends visiting for 4 days and reminding me how good it feels to take a couple of days off of work to just hang out and be a person instead of a corporate robot. Don't worry @shorelinetides I'm still poking away at my fake dating fic, so here's a lil snippet. <3
"We have a problem," Jake moans as he drops into the chair next to Bradley's desk. It probably has a permanent indent in the shape of his ass with how often he's sat in it over the last few months. "Why do we have a problem, baby?" Bradley asks, clearly distracted, eyes still on his screen. "No one's here, Bradshaw. don't bother playing pretend when it's just us," Jake reminds him, kicking his shin. Bradley sighs, eyes closing for a second before looking at Jake. When his gaze meets Jake's, he doesn't look annoyed like Jake was expecting, he just looks tired. That tracks, they got back from a quick and dirty five day mission yesterday, the only reason they're here today was for the debriefing this morning and to file their reports, then it's five days of leave that Jake plans on spending at least half of sleeping before Emma comes down. "Just tired, I forget sometimes," his smile is bashful. "What's the problem?" "My parents are in L.A. visiting Jessie. They're driving Emma down this weekend," Jake runs a hand through his hair and is reminded that he needs it cut soon. "Not seeing the problem," Bradley swivels in his chair, knees knocking against Jake's before they slot together like puzzle pieces. "Just means you save a little on gas." "How did I forget you've never had to deal with demanding parents," Jake drops his head back against the back of the chair, not even feeling bad about mentioning Bradley's lack of living relatives. "They want to meet you. Pretty sure they want to make sure you're good enough for me. I can make up an excuse—" "Nope, I'll be there," Bradley grins. "Come on, don't make me look bad. I want to impress them." "Why?" Jake asks, incredulous. There's a heavy pause before he says, "Do I need a reason? I like when parents like me."

Broadcaster snippet!
“You mind if I shower?” Jake jacked his thumb over his shoulder. “Ya know…get the plane off.”
“Right, yeah.” Bradley blinked a few times before coming out of whatever fog he’d disappeared into. “This way.”
Jake followed him through the house, grabbing his bag he’d dumped in the living room along the way. They went up the stairs to the single door on the left. “This is my room,” Bradley explained. “Nothing in the guest rooms will be safe with the kids, so you can leave your stuff in here for now. Bathroom’s got everything you need.”
Jake was only allowed a quick look at the nice room before they were in the ensuite. Couples sinks, a jet tub, and a shower took up the decent-sized room. Bradley fiddled with the knobs until steam filled the room as water cascaded from a rainfall showerhead. He nodded to a rack with folded towels, then just…stood there.
“Uh, anything else you need?” Bradley finally asked.
Jake bit his grin. “I don’t know, are you staying for the show?”
“Right…right, sorry.” Bradley’s cheeks went pink; he cleared his throat. “I’ll go check on the food. If you need anything, holler.”
Bradley left him to it. Jake took his time in the shower, opening the bottles of 2-in-1 with a snort.
AS he toweled off, a knock rapped on the door.
“Come in,” Jake called.
It opened. Bradley kept his hand on the knob, leaning against the wood. His eyes traveled down Jake’s torso, pausing somewhere around the low-slung towel on his hips. The words on his tongue stopped with it. Jake looked at him in the foggy mirror, raising a brow.
“I…uh.” Bradley cleared his throat. “Lunch is ready.”

i'm years late to the tgm party but i think something that really compels me about rooster is that he spends sooo much time being angry at mav, and there's so much about him being a careful flyer and not being fast enough that it would be so easy to write him as the broody/reserved/silent archetype but no!! he's allowed to be angry as fuck, and full of grief, and overly cautious and still be insanely charismatic in his private life and the life of the party and to love the spotlight and i just think moving away from the archetype that would have been so obvious and easy to write him into does wonders for his character and makes him feel so much more real
you have to stay alive. you're going to be such a beautiful middle aged freak. young freaks will see you in the street and know that things can be okay.
