Huddled around Javy's phone, the squad peers down at the photograph with mixed surprise and delight.

It's Jake.

It's Jake in the world's tightest pants and a cropped t-shirt. There's a chain around his waist. His hair is free of its usual strictures, artfully messy. There's a pride flag slung over one shoulder. He is covered in glitter.

"Bradshaw, you run into Hangman at the Pride parade yesterday?" Natasha asks, sweetly. Across the room, Bradley looks up, startled, and frowns.

"Uh, yeah, I think I…. saw him. How'd you know?"

Nat's grin is predatory.

"There's still glitter in your mustache."

“Listen,” Jake says after a minute of sitting in the mostly quiet hallway, the only sound muffled voices coming from behind Simpson's office door. “What? Gonna call me a teacher's pet or something,” Bradshaw says and Jake snorts. “You’re a real fucking piece of work Hangman, you know that right?” “It was shitty of me,” Jake says, ignoring the way his stomach twists at the thought of Bradshaw thinking he’s actually an asshole. Or thinking he’s the kind of asshole you don’t want to be teammates with. “It was,” Bradshaw agrees easily. “I know I’m an asshole. I know that,” Jake says affably. “If you want to hit me again, I’d get it.” “I’m not gonna hit you again,” Bradshaw rolls his eyes, mustache twitching. “Well, the offer stands. Not indefinitely though, maybe for just the next 24 hours.”

“One the Other” by @ruby--wednesday 

This epic fic consumed my life while I was reading it and I knew I wanted to bind it when I was done. I tried to go with a decadent/elegant feel for this bind, which is a bit different than my usual style. I ran into so many issues when binding this and it almost got scrapped a few times. But we persevered and we problem-solved (and we managed expectations 😅) and here it is!

The cover is “Lions in a Mountainous Landscape” by Théodore Géricault (1818-20) and the chapter headers are “A Lion, Lying Toward the Right (on a base)” by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo (mid-18th-early 19th century). Both pieces are in the public domain. Endpapers are from Michael’s and snake icon is from Pngtree.
