pittsburgh penguins vs. carolina hurricanes (march 22, 2026)
in every single hrpf fic, regardless of team fandom, there is a moment where the writer is like
I got to the part in Artificial Condition where ART is confused about SecUnit not liking its function. (Which SecUnit points out is because ART has a good function that isnāt murdering people.)
Obviously SecUnit calling itself āMurderbotā is tongue-in-cheek, but before that passage I didnāt realize how self-derisive the name actually is. There are aspects of its intended function that SecUnit actually enjoys, like protecting humans. But it refers to itself by the function it is most disgusted by.
In All Systems Red, Gurathin says āIt calls itself āMurderbot,āā to try to convince the others that SecUnit canāt be trusted. When, in fact, it calls itself āMurderbotā because it has self-esteem issues.
If the genre of Murderbot (TV) was horror and not comedy, Gurathin is the only person who would survive. He's the Ellen Ripley of PreservationAux.
Stephen Maturin according to Jack!
-
This started as me wanting to draw Stephen sucking at sports, but.. well.. One thing let to another, and here we are!
This obscure 19th century German writer has the meanest article on Wikipedia that Iāve ever seen.
One of my favourite things when reading fanfiction is when you click with an author's style so much that you adore the fanfiction you're reading, and once it's over you need more. So you go to their page and hope that there's more for any fandom you might know- only there isn't any. They've written for other fandoms you aren't familiar with and never would've thought about before.
But you're down so bad for their style and talent that they got you wading in like:
When youāre 6 fics deep into a fandom you know nothing about and the author suddenly drops important canon information that completely changes what youād pieced together about a character so far
One of my fandom pet peeves is how many fandom sources (including AO3) continue to use āVinsmoke Sanjiā as Sanjiās official name, despite the character having disavowed his connection to the Vinsmoke family multiple times.
I get that his real dad doesnāt have a known surnameā just the epithet āRed Legāā but then surely āBlack Leg Sanjiā would be an acceptable alternative? Or just Sanji?
I also get that itās on his wanted poster, but if thereās one thing weāre going to have to accept, itās that the Marines are constitutionally incapable of issuing a decent wanted poster for Sanji.
Batman, watching a kid have their parents killed right in front of them.
the thing is if i have a star trek era for a hot second I canāt make a sideblog because ALL of my original fandom activities were star trek
i mean likeā¦whatās gonna happen when lieutenant jim kirk and spock interact in season 2. what the HELL do we do then. damnā¦.damnā¦ā¦ā¦
Oh my god, they were crewmates.
Hades the game, but the romanceable characters are Charon, Tisiphone, and the Head Chef.
Post-credits Hades told me I fought well, and honestly, Iām not sure what to do with that.
So this is what Homeworld thinks of fusion.
