the bravery of a girl who has to decide what is for dinner and then cook it and then wash dishes every day forever and ever.
That's called being an adult
no itās called being the bravest girl on planet earth
Surprised that tumblr isnāt talking about the death of Frank Tyson. A policeman killed him after kneeling on his neck. It happened on april 18th, but the video of his arrest got released today.
Itās truly heartbreaking, Frank Tyson was a 53 year old black man who had only been released from prison for 12 days. They pinned him to the ground with handcuffs and only 8 minutes of being crushed with the officers knee to his neck, even after he stated he couldnāt breathe, they realized heād died. They waited 5 minutes to check for his pulse and 3 to commence CPR.
The Cleveland police murdered him, even making a joke of āalways wanting to be in a bar fight and not being sure if this countedā. This was all caught on camera. On the police body cams.
His family hadnāt even had the chance to see him out of prison, their last sight of him and words from him is going to be the video of his death. A video where the circumstances are far too familiar to the death of George Floyd from 4 years ago. Please, the video is truly horrible. You can hear him choking. You can hear him calling for help.
If anyone has anywhere to support his family during this time or anything, please, we canāt keep watching black men be killed and watching the police laughing in our faces about it.

sorry i overreacted i had no idea everything would be fine
"A Childās View from Gaza" was an art exhibition showcasing drawings created by the children of Gaza.
"The captioned illustrations were created by Palestinian children who lived through the Israeli bombardment of Gaza in 2008-09. The pictures were drawn as part of an effort to help children deal with the horrors they had experienced. A Bay Area nonprofit, Middle East Childrenās Alliance (MECA), arranged to display a collection of these pictures at the Museum of Childrenās Art in Oakland, California. However, under pressure from the Jewish Federation of the East Bay and other organizations, the museum backed out of the agreement at the last minute."
i was going to learn 12 languages, read 250 books and learn 75 new skills this year what happened
The Gaza Death Toll Has Now Hit 9,000.
Gazaās health ministry has updated its death toll since the conflict broke out on October 7, to 9,061, including 3,760 children and 2,326 women.
Please, please do not be desensitized to the numbers. Please don't look away! Palestinians do not even have the privilege look away! Do not stop protesting, do not stop demanding for a ceasefire, do not stop donating esims or money or humanitarian aid, do not stop looking ways for help, do not stop talking about Palestine!
They are not numbers.
I was at a Palestinian solidarity gig last night & the one Palestinian artist who was going to perform had COVID so the organisers asked around to see if there were any Palestinians who'd like to say a few words instead.
A local guy who was born & raised in Gaza offered to speak. He started with "I'm an engineer. i'm not a poet or a politician. I don't... do public speaking⦠I had no idea what to say when I came up here. So i'm just going to tell you about the street I grew up on."
And then he did! He went down the street building by building. He told us about the ice cream shop on the corner, the grocery shop, the charity that supports people with intellectual disabilities. He told us about the people who he knew growing up, the families who still live in the different houses. He told us about the university buildings and about his friends who quit being accountants to start a band together. All on that street.
All of which is gone now, by the way. Bombed to dust.

@Shepherds4Good: Palestinian children in Gaza hold a press conference outside Al Shifa hospital, speaking English so the world cannot pretend not to understand them: āWe come now to shout and invite you to protect us; we want to live, we want peace⦠we want to live as the other children live.ā
Bisan just posted four videos on Instagram and is saying that they might be the last updates from Gaza since the Israeli army destroyed any way that could have been used to generate electricity including solar panels
bakeries were threatened that if they opened that they would be bombed. they ran out of petroleum and wheat and once they obtained some stock, they were bombed. no clean water to drink for four days now. water that can be obtained is not clean or drinkable. Israeli army dropped more phosphorus bombs and gas went all over Gaza. Bisan said her eyes, nose and mouth are burning and she has a headache. people are coughing and trying to find ways to cover themselves from breathing it in. paper notices were dropped telling people in Gaza that they have to evacuate and it's their last chance to go south, walking without using any vehicle. she said it's planned and all elements of genocide. this is awful
she said that even if they survive the white phosphorus, the bombing, that there is no food or clean water to drink and the only water they have is salt water from the sea. that they're trying to kill people with hunger and thirst and making them sick. from the beginning of the war they ate once a day but that's no longer the case. there are no products, no food, no aid, there's nothing. people are dying from hunger and there is zero aid that enters through
To clarify, this is a war crime, the Geneva convention bans the targeting of medical transport. There's no caveats. It doesn't actually matter who's driving it.
The last month has taught me that apparently all the Geneva convention is really good for is getting indie games to change a red medical cross to some other medical cross and that it can do fuck all about actual war crimes.
"lesser evil"
this kwame ture quote becomes relevant again, encourage reading about him and listening to his advocacy re palestine
For those who don't understand the kid is screaming: "I'm here dad! Come here!" His father comes and asks him: "where is your mother?" The kid cries: "she died, she died."
Then the child explains that his foot is injured and his father tries to comfort him.
This is evil. The child literally met his dad at the hospital by accident, he watched his mom die and had to break the news to his father. What kind of power will save these children from this trauma? I know children in gaza are so strong and resilient, but children are children regardless.
Use your voice to end this genocide. Enough, CEASEFIRE NOW!
What to boycott NOW to help stop Israelās unfolding genocide of Palestinians in Gaza
We call on our supporters to strengthen our targeted boycott and divestment campaigns to maximize our impact!
Reminder that boycotting DOES work, there is historic proof! Don't let anyone discourage you otherwise!
The BDS movement uses the historically successful method ofĀ targeted boycottsĀ inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the US Civil Rights movement, the Indian anti-colonial struggle, among others worldwide.
We must strategically focus on a relativelyĀ smaller numberĀ of carefully selected companies and products for maximum impact. Companies that play a clear and direct role in Israelās crimes and where there isĀ real potential for winning, as was the case with, among others, G4S, Veolia, Orange, Ben & Jerryās and Pillsbury. Compelling such huge, complicit companies, through strategic and context-sensitive boycott and divestment campaigns, to end their complicity in Israeli apartheid and war crimes against Palestinians sends a very powerful message to hundreds of other complicit companies that āyour time will come, so get out before itās too late!ā
Please reblog! Spread this! There is an effort by zionists to discourage people from boycotting! Don't let them trample your spirits and help us in the fight for a liberated Palestine!

KEEP EYES ON SUDAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT LET THEIR SUFFERING GO UNSEEN OR UNHEARD OF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what the fuck is going on this year. january through june didnt happen. july is a distant memory. august and september were the longest months of my life. october ended in 5 seconds. why is november here already this isnāt right
It's the season erosion from the climate crisis, combined with a hyperindividualistic and stress-bound society. It warps your sense of time.
awesome. how do i stop all that though
I can help with this actually!
Go out of your way to experience time. Go to every seasonal event you can; any fair or local egg hunt/autumn bake sale/summer block party. It helps slow down each month and anchor you in time.
