I've been thinking over what Dean's life would be like if he 'retired' from hunting, which is to say he wouldn't - not in your typical sense. He's a guy who can't truly stop and his ideal retirement would always include it in some aspect.

But what Dean is fundementally is a cornerstone of a community, similar to Bobby. Dean is who even John sends other hunters to, and that's how his life would continue. It's why I like the idea of Dean ending up like Ellen and running a bar/diner which is full of hunters, in a town that suspects somethings weird about the place and people who pass through, but Dean does so much for the community that the town let's the weirdness go unspoken about. I say a bar, as we know that's where Dean is most comfortable.

But, like said, while being a helping hand for hunters, he also does plenty for the town he lives in. Volentary work - he did hunting for free, so it's no surprise that things like volentary firefighting, neighbourhood watch, fostering and manual labour he'd do for free (or at least get some beers out of)

Dean being a pillar to both regular people and the hunting circle is what his retirment should have looked like, but the thing is Dean was so fixated on what "normality" looked like (the american dream) that he never got to step back and realise he could balance his life.

My own angel hierarchy diagram WITH explanation

Because there’s an implication in the show that some angels consider one another family while others aren’t, I needed to sketch it out for myself. The arrows are who takes command from who.

The garrisons under each Archangel consider their designated archangel as their brother, whereas they might not necessarily consider the other archangels as closely. Those garrisons under the same archangel would consider themselves siblings.

For example, Castiel being a seraphim under Gabriel, they consider one another brothers. Castiel also considers the cupids as his brothers. But if he were speaking to an angel from Michael’s garrisons, he wouldn’t consider them as siblings to himself

Every garrison considers the higher angels as their siblings, although some more than others

Things got a little weird when Lucifer and Gabriel left, which each having their Garrisons given to their older sibling. With Lucifers garrisons, those who sided with him had their grace ripped out and sent to earth, their descendants being angel adjacent are perfect for vessels. Those who didn’t side with lucifer became a part of Michael’s garrisons.

Gabriel’s garrisons were a little tricky, as Raphael wasn’t sure what to do with the chaos that was the Cupids at the time. Gabriel’s garrisons got reorganised to assimilate into Raphael’s way of leadership style, the cupids got a BIG change to how they operated caused many arguments.

I also believe each archangel had a specific brands of angels.

Of course you have the Intellegence angels under Michael, and the cupids under Gabriel. But you also had Guardian Angels who protect specific bloodlines and worked as accompaniment into heaven, they used to work alongside reapers. They work under Raphael. And judgment angels, who used to work with the fates working to keep destinies and the laws of the gods in order, they worked under lucifer.

And I forgot to add the Rit Zien and Grigori whoops

This is probably a thought someone’s had before but if Jo was a Winchester it would give each of the archangels a Winchester-blood vessel that line up pretty well

Then if we carry on in the birth order, you’d have Jo with Raphael and Adam with Gabriel

Jo is very goal oriented, once she’s decided on something that’s that even when it starts causing problems around her, this matches up with Raphael’s single minded agenda when it came to bringing the apocalypse around

Adam was able to be raised outside of the family, reminiscent of how Gabriel left his family to have a fresh life - and we see him being one to get along with Michael best (whether you view that in a platonic or romantic way) which would match biblically as Michael and Gabriel are often depicted side by side, one would assume they got along. As well as being personality similar to Dean

You could also go not in birth order with Jo being Gabriel which I really like - I think her whole getting away from her mother plotline and trying to prove herself on her own matches well with Gabriel. Similarly to Adam and Michael, we see Jo and Dean get on like a house on fire which would have them being Michael and Gabriel’s vessels work well.

But the similarities between Raphael and Adam fall through though which man I wanted to round this out but I guess not

To speak more on that - I think Raphael-Adam parallels work really well with Adam being down to help Michael bring about the apocalypse to get his mom back, even at the cost of his half-brothers. Raphael "just wants it to be over," he wants peace after the fated fight even knowing that one of his brothers will die. Both are willing to accept sacrifices in the name of accomplishing a moral goal, to get a little dirty and bruise some egos, and both are suffering without the presence of their singular dead parent. (Raphael says God is dead, even when we the audience know that's false)

And I think Michael could appreciate Adam because of those Raphael traits, or even approach Adam because he is Raphael's vessel. Out of the four archangels, Raphael and Michael are the only two who are still working together, who are still in Heaven. We don't get to know literally anything more than that, canonically, but they've been celestial roommates since Raphael was created. That implies a level of comfort and trust that no other archangel probably has apart from them.

Augh, this scene in Chapter 6 is perfect to have this dichotomy between Jessifer as an angel and Jessifer as the devil, when she's on the edge of her shattered faith right there in the hospital. She's supposed to believe that God controls everything, there is no free will, there's no way that fate can be broken and even when it appears to be so, it's all in God's plan, and because God has promised that Sam will be her vessel in the apocalypse, she doesn't have to worry about him waking up from his coma, right? (Zachariah definitely made it seem like Heaven would, eventually, abiding by the letter of the law if not the spirit.)

Buuuut, she genuinely loves Sam. She can't just trust that he'll be okay. Love and faith have been described as Lucifer's ruin, and maybe that happened here, again.
