i think the main difference btween overzealous unironic joker fanboys and like, mcu thanos fanboys or just “thanos was right” dudes is that the joker, as he exists both in media and in these guy’s heads, is provably sexy. heath ledger was a beautiful man and his character in the dark knight is shot like a movie star, jack nicholson gave like a bravura performance in the tim burton movie or whatever. it gives these dudes way more power to be absurd because the fantasies they project onto the joker are like 100% validated by pop culture and by text. with overly project-y thanos fans its like, it doesnt really matter how rational and articulate and provocative your defense of his crazy incoherent ideology is because thanos is the goofiest contemporary film character maybe period and he’s specifically goofy in like, an incredibly earnest way and i think most people realize this and find it embarrassing

Something about Black Panther that I haven't seen anyone talk about yet.

So T'Challa is this usually super stoic, soft-spoken, level-headed hero, yeah? But my favorite thing about him is that despite being so stoic most of the time, he still cries. A lot. He shows so much emotion and vulnerability when he is sad. He gets so broken down and visibly upset by certain events, and yet he is still super masculine and powerful. His tears are not shown to be ‘feminine’ or ‘degrading’ in any way. T'Challa is just a really great character. I hope he shows men that it’s not ‘unmanly’ or ‘shameful’ to cry. So, just add that to the list of reasons to love this movie.

I don’t hate anyone for their ships. or their pairings. Honestly, I don’t think many fan truly due. even those referred to as “antis”. 

But what people view as romance and having romantic potential tells you about them.

If they think sibling can have romantic tension, they are fine with incest. if they see an interracial couple and decide the white/lighter companion would be better off with a white/lighter partner, they might be colorist or racist. if they think a rapist and their victim should ate, they don’t have a problems with rape, or perhaps they don’t view those specific actions as rape.  if they pair children and adults, they are fine with pedophilia. many times slash is an attempt to erase a woman from a narrative. Women of color are depicted as sexless, or overly sexual. men of color are reduced to hulking beasts, savage rapists or sexless nannies. these depictions identify those shippers as racist.

so i guess what I’m getting at is: people aren’t disliked for their ships, they’re disliked who being the kind of person who ships that.

Man I love Alluka Zoldyck who is a TRANS GIRL, I just love that she is a GIRL who is TRANS, I'm so glad she has Killua in her life who makes sure people know she's a GIRL and uses SHE/HER PRONOUNS over the rest of their dumb family who openly misgenders her. Damn Alluka is really a nice TRANS GIRL character!!
