It was obvious that they weren’t paying any attention at all. They were just rubbing their hands on the table in circular motions and looking at the wall distantly, though there was somebody in front of them. They didn’t even notice. So basically, Ana-Maria was staring at that person, which is taken as rude in most places.

Ana-Marie said from behind, holding a large jar in one hand, the other hand rubbing on the lid. Usually, they didn’t want to start things in a negative way, but sometimes, things had to be done. 

“I’m not being paid to piss you off, ‘cause I’m doing it for free because of your shitty attitude. I’ll walk as slow as I want.”

He struts ever so slowly, trying to annoy the collector even more. Thanks, Etsuko.

“I mean, you know, whatever! That’s fine, y’know, I’m fine, like, whatever, that’s fine, I’m fine.”

They said sarcastically, and the rubbing on the lid became even faster. It’s not like they were preparing something or anything, it was just a nice feel. Ana-Maria took a moment to think over what they could say next, which was new, because they didn’t exactly like thinking.

“But I mean, it’s whatever, you do you.”

The collector took their hand off of the lid of the jar and proceeded to push Etsuko out of the way. They weren’t in a hurry to do anything, they just wanted to get back to their room so they could sleep or eat, maybe.
