Keep Your Eyes On the Ball [spiritedcoaching]
-
It was a shame that they needed to wait, and he sitted firmly in a near bank waiting for the personal to appear. Walking through the dizzyness, the female student seemed to open well her eyes and stabilize a bit. She rested in his shoulder and it didn’t minded him, though. He just smiled. “Take the rest you need. It’s just a hit. A painful hit, but you’re gonna be well.” He tried to cheer her up, sighing inside about how despite his advertisings and tips, that boy left his instincts in charge of the competition.
"My name’s Nekomaru Nidai, I’m the SHSL Manager… I was working as a judge in today’s match and this is partially my responsibility, because that guy was in one of the teams I was coaching through today’s match. That fool… I hoped for him to be more careful, but he’ll definitely need to improve! And give you his sorrys, of course."
After a moment, finally, the medical personal appeared, instantly questioning about what happened and the coach explaining the incident, they took the girl inside to do the rutinal checks and help her. He felt better inside, and waved her as she was stepping inside.
"Want me to wait for you? I’ll walk with you outside, just in case."
“It wasn’t your fault,” she interjected as she lightly placed a hand on top of his. “I should’ve been paying more attention to what was going on.”
She then folded both hands on her lap as she closed her eyes again, her eyes clenching shut as she felt a small pain in her head. Hopefully it was nothing too serious.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Nidai-san.” She gave him a small polite smile before introducing herself. “I am Hitomi Wakana, SHSL Soprano.”
As the nurse finally appeared, Hitomi just gave a weak smile and small wave. She let Nidai explain what had happened, zoning out a bit before she felt his words suddenly directed toward her.
“Hm? Ah, I suppose that would be helpful if you don’t mind,” she told him.
The nurse directed him to go stand out in the hall before she moved over and started to look over Hitomi while asking her a series of questions. Apparently this was not the girl’s first time in the infirmary. It took quite a bit of convincing for the nurse to believe that she really was okay aside from the bloody nose and headache.
“You should be more careful,” she said sternly as she looked down at the girl. “Though we’ll have to make sure you don’t have a concussion.”
“Yes, you’re right.”
She then sat there as the nurse examined her before concluding she didn’t seem to have signs of anything serious. She just needed some rest. After thanking her, Hitomi slowly got up as she tested taking a step or two. She was a bit dizzy, but she didn’t feel as if she were going to collapse. The nurse opened the door and instructed Nidai that the girl needed some rest before telling Hitomi to check in the next day.
((Gonna attempt to work on replies this weekend, but it's also gonna be crazy busy, and ahhhhhhh, I'm sorry everyone. ;__; ))
((Ahaha, and I still have replies to work on;; I'll get to them soon, I swear! QAQ ))
((Oops, sorry I've been away, lovelies. School is stressful, personal life is stressful, everything is stressful. /o/ I'll be on a sort of indefinite hiatus;; ))
((Let's see if I can knock out some replies.))
((Happy Munday! I do what I want with my life.))
((Ah, after this first day of classes, I'm just going to tell you all now that I will more than likely not be active during the week and will only be able to work on replies on the weekends. Reason? I have an extremely heavy courseload this semester, particularly in regards to my three literature classes on MWF. It's literally 100+ pages of reading every two days, and on top of that, I have three other courses, a 6-hour internship, and a 7-hour workstudy. Unfortunately a lot of this adds up to not a lot of free time;; I will try to reply here and there when I am able to, and if you need to get in touch with me, I will still check in here once or twice a day!))
((Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know I'm going back home after work again, so that means no wifi again. :'D But I did go ahead and save the rest of my unanswered rp replies, and I'll hopefully have them all done by the time I'm online again! Ah, though that is debatable because I'm headed back to my university on the 11th, so I need to pack and everything else. I'll try to keep in touch!))

Passivity [OPEN RP]
Smiling at the light touch, Chihiro nodded cheerfully. It took time and effort to find the soul of the piece, the correct amount of vigour. If one was lucky, they could master the flow of the piece in only a couple of tries. He himself adored sight-reading, but that didn’t mean that he was good at adapting to a piece right away. It always took him a little time to get into the rhythm of the piece.
Stopping quickly so he did not walk straight into Hitomi, Chihiro tapped his finger against his cheek, thinking. “Uh, it’s in the storage room, I do believe that I placed it upon someone’s fluro green trumpet case,” he pondered. He’d picked that specific spot, instead of placing it in the regular flute section, as the case was very noticable and covered in a light layer of dust - implying that someone hadn’t touched it in a long time and probably wouldn’t move it soon.
“I’ll go grab a room for us then,” she told Chihiro.
With a small smile and a quick turn of her heel, the girl moved toward an empty practice room. There were a couple music stands and an upright piano, perfect for what it was the two wanted to achieve. She set the small stack of music on top of the piano before pulling out the one she needed and sitting down. There were a couple copies in the folder, so she pulled out the flute sheet and set it on one of the music stands for Chihiro whenever the other appeared inside. Seating herself at the piano, her eyes scanned over the piece, looking at both the lyrics and the piano scores.
Her fingers ghosted over the keys as she worked out the notes and rhythms as she waited. She began humming as she eventually started pressing down on the keys, a soft melody beginning to form.
I'm more of an Alto.. (shsl-soprano)
Aoi was still admiring the girl’s singing when she spoke. The singing had somewhat calmed her nerves and removed her frustration. Only then did she realize that she might have been intruding on the girl. Her cheeks slightly pink, Aoi took a small step back.
"It’s okay!" She exclaimed, "If someone’s apologizing, it should definitely be me!" She took note that the girl’s voice seemed softer than what she had heard before. Was it really her who had sang? Aoi quickly scanned over the singer. She’s adorable, She took note, a smile forming at her lips, it’s funny to think that she has such a strong voice. "I’m sorry", She said, a smile still lingering, "I didn’t mean to intrude!"
The smile then turned to a sheepish one as she continued. “It’s just, your singing”, She clapped her hands together. “It was amazing!”
Hitomi noticed that the other was studying her briefly, though she made no comment on it. The brunette girl appeared quite energetic to her, also seeming to be quite athletic from the way her body was built.
“Oh,” she said, caught a bit off-guard by the sudden exclamation. “Thank you very much. I appreciate the compliment.”
She clasped her hands in front of her before giving a slight bow to the other girl. When standing again, she lifted a hand and tucked a stray hair behind her ear as her eyes gazed over the sheet music. She wasn’t trying to ignore the other or anything, just seeing what else she had to do. Though she had rehearsed everything she needed to, so there wasn’t much reason for her to linger here in the practice room much longer.
“So was there something that you needed?” she asked as she looked over to the unnamed brunette while gathering her sheet music.
((Finally back online! Expect a bunch of replies! (: ))
((Ah, I was going to work on replies yesterday and today, I swear, but with work, my trip to Chicago tomorrow, and pretty sure I just got sick today while AT work, I'm just gonna go sleep. I'm still here, but I'll need a few more days to get stuff back together with my life again. Busy, busy, busy...))
((Hey guys, I won't really be on until sometime in the late afternoon/early evening on December 25th. I'm going home to my aunt's house, so no net for me. Just wanted to give the heads up!))
A Gift from the Heart [SHSL-Sweetie - Secret Santa Event]
Hitomi took a deep breath after sitting down at her desk and staring down at the objects on her desk. It had taken quite a bit of time and effort to acquire these specific items, but to her it would hopefully be worth it in the end. Though it wasn’t as if she was looking for some sort of personal gain, she was just incredibly nervous on if her Secret Santa recipient would be excited or not upon receiving the gifts.
Joining the event wasn’t something Hitomi was originally planning on, but she thought perhaps it would be a way for her to get to know some more of her classmates. After all, how bad could it be? Though she was rather happy to find she would be getting something for her first actual friend here at the academy. Or more like she was happy it was Chihiro because she found a kindred spirit in the girl and someone who she could talk to about classical music. But it was hard to try to keep it a secret from her friend.
“I really hope Chihiro-san likes these…”
Of course two of the three items were on the list she had received for ideas. It was moreover the third one that would be the deciding factor. The two gifts from Chihiro’s list consisted of a book called Code Complete by Steve McConnell and the full score for Barber of Seville, the latter coming with a CD. The third gift Hitomi took in her hands and held it up to look at it. It had taken quite a bit of wandering around town and browsing in antique shops to find this even though she had honestly just happened upon it by chance. It was a small music box ornately decorated with lace patterns and butterflies. When the knob on the side, a thin rod with a butterfly on the end to help turn, was twisted and the box was opened, then a certain song would play: “Un Bel Di” from Madame Butterfly. Why this one chosen specifically? Because it was the song Hitomi was humming to herself when she first met Chihiro. She had paid quite a bit for it, but she didn’t mind since she had saved on the other two due to holiday sales and such.
Now turning her attention back to the matter at hand, she placed the music box inside a small gift box before picking up the small roll of shimmery snowflake wrapping paper and began to work on carefully wrapping the three items separately. She made sure to take extra care to make it look as nice and neat as she possibly could despite the extra time it took up.
Once she was done, she looked at her handiwork as she sat there and stared at the presents. They were told to deliver them anytime between when the names were drawn and distributed until the last day before the holidays. A small sigh left her lips as she stood and collected the three items and made her way out of her room and in the direction of Chihiro’s room. She had been there a couple times to meet the other, so she remembered where it was at.
Standing in front of the door, Hitomi raised her hand to knock before she hesitated and looked down at the packages in her hands. Would Chihiro like the third gift? Before giving it another thought, she knocked on the door, the raps short and quiet, but loud enough to be heard clearly. Once Chihiro opened the door, the violet-haired girl shyly extended the gifts out toward the other.
“Merry Christmas from your Secret Santa,” she said. She appeared as calm as ever on the outside despite the mild nerves on the inside.
