I am back

I kind of forgot Tumblr exists. Lol. My last post was 2018 huh. I was so obsessed to MHA that time. Now I have many other hobbies so maybe I will fill this account with them. For example, I play Fate/Grand Order, Arknights, and Ensemble Stars now. I no longer read MHA but I read many other titles. I play games more often than reading manga or watching anime. I hang out a lot on Discord now. I also like listening to Japanese musicians-- or uh, utaite specifically. I’ve been following Amatsuki since 2017 and I’ve found more of them. I really like Strawberry Prince, too. 

Most likely this account will be forgotten again in few days since I am quite busy due to my thesis. Well, it’s not like my account is that active to begin with.

a demon!deku au where deku pretended to be quirkless in order to hide his true nature and still befriended kacchan, but all demons can see a timeline above someone’s head that says how long they have until they die (and sometimes the numbers can change, but rarely do they), so when kacchan gets swallowed by the sludge villain, deku runs out there in a panic because he can see the numbers above kacchan’s head ticking down like a bomb, giving deku 20 seconds to convince kacchan to sell his soul to him so he wouldn’t have to die

do you think that the fandom over exaggerates bakugou’s and kirishima’s friendship while ignoring the other members of the “bakusquad”?

oh definitely and it’s because they’ve misinterpreted the scene where the rescue squad saves bakugou. they view it as “it had to be kiri bc kiri is singularly special to bakugou” rather than what it actually was, which is “it had to be kiri bc kiri is the only one that came that can actively be considered bakugou’s friend and if it’s him it’ll be the softest blow to his ego bc bakugou doesn’t view kiri as a threat in any capacity” 

it’s ignoring the fact that the only other choices in that moment were deku (a huge no go for obvious reasons), todoroki (also a big no), momo and iida (not ideal). or that he accepted the help bc being there was a burden to all might, that he grit his teeth before he went to grab kiri’s hand bc he didn’t want to, and he still didn’t admit to being saved afterward

(and kiri’s desperation, though exasperated by the fact that it was a friend, was not born of the fact that it was bakugou who was taken, it was his fear of reverting to how he was in middle school, someone who wasn’t able to act when he could)

i honestly love bakugou and kiri’s friendship but people blow it way out of proportion. bakugou has other friends that he’s just as close w/ like kaminari, who he’s been friends with for presumably as long as kirishima, who he trusted with one of his grenades during the licence exam, who defended him when shishikura was talking shit, and who is always sitting next to him and is allowed to lean on him.

sero too, ever since the sports festival has been part of the “squad”. and not to mention the fact that kirishima and kaminari have been really close friends since the beginning.

but yeah people take things out of context and tend to ignore the relationships that bakugou and kiri have w/ other people

Sorry to interject with my own agenda, and I’m hella biased, but not only do I agree with this, but I really think people missed how much of a bakudeku moment that was too.

Deku desperately wanted to save Bakugou, to the point that he almost destroyed himself and made his arms completely unusable, and then pushed himself through the pain to go after him again. Even Kirishima very clearly acknowledged that Deku was the one who was hurting from his kidnapping the most.

So when it came to actually saving him, Deku told Kirishima that he had to be the one to reach out. And that by itself makes sense, and is totally platonic, and Deku just trying to spare Bakugou’s feelings, but then we have this.

(Pardon my use of Fallen Angels, haha.)

Do you see the way Deku looks at his hand? And the way he remembers being rejected by Bakugou? It’s almost as if he’s looking at his hand and thinking “I’m not good enough.” Even though he desperately wants to reach out to Bakugou and save him, he can’t. And that clearly HURTS him.

It’s one of my favorite bakudeku moments, and I feel like a looooot of people completely overlook it. I can’t wait to see it animated, because I feel like it will be a pretty emotional little moment for him.

adding to your interjection with my own agenda to talk a bit about how i view the “don’t come” scene because i honestly can’t think of it as anything but concern for deku’s safety

he doesn’t look hateful or defensive to me. he looks kind of. panicked?

because bakugou knows how reckless and self-sacrificing deku is. he’s seen it firsthand multiple times, he thought ochako’s plan during the sports festival was deku’s bc of how risky it was, and he’s seen him completely break himself for other people’s sake. bakugou has a complex about getting saved, sure, and specifically by deku but like. i really can’t see that scene as anything other than “stop. if you do this you’ll die” i mean, deku’s arms were fucked to hell and back, theres no way he couldve actually done anything. 

and the whole thing abt “bakugou would probably see getting saved as a disgrace” is like. deku doesn’t understand how bakugou views him at this point in time. of course he’s going to look back on previous experiences and retroactively interpret that line as “fuck off i dont want your help.” miscommunication and misunderstanding each others intents toward each other is kinda of a running theme for those two. and narratively? it just wasnt time for bakugou to accept deku’s hand. the story is clearly leading up to that eventually as a big plot point and it would have been way too early.

and bakugou hates feeling like a burden. he felt like getting kidnapped was a burden to the pros and his classmates, his presence at kamino was burdening all might, and that what happened to all might was his fault bc he had to get rescued. so getting his reckless childhood friend killed bc he got himself kidnapped and said childhood friend is too self-sacrificing for his own good? of course he had to stop it

when things settled a bit, deku clearly wasn’t going to be a good choice for the rescue mission, but in the heat of the moment, i don’t think that was what was on bakugou’s mind. the situation was dire in a way neither of them had experienced before, i don’t think bakugou is so unreasonable to have pushed deku away in this situation just to be petty

well, that’s how i see it anyway

Oh I definitely don’t think Bakugou would have pushed him away, but that’s how Deku saw it. He viewed it and lumped it in with every other rejection he’s ever gotten from Bakugou. But when they actually jumped in and saved Bakugou, he was not only terrified, but he knew he had to get out of the way. If Deku had extended his hand at that moment, Bakugou would have taken any out he could have. But Deku didn’t know that and he definitely wasn’t going to risk it, so it makes sense to go with Kirishima!

Plus we all know that Bakugou is going to take Deku’s hand eventually. Horikoshi is building it up as a theme within the manga that Bakugou refuses his hand. But first, they need to view each other on equal terms, and Bakugou needs to grow a little. And then we’re going to have a scene where Deku can confidently offer his hand with no shame or fear, and Bakugou will take it without hesitation.

I’m so very much looking forward to it.

Deku loves Kacchan so much. Whether it’s platonic or romantic, he loves Kacchan…SO much. He admires him, and bases so much of himself around this boy. He pursues him, he mimics him, and he’s always looking his way. He wants nothing more than to be friends again, and for Kacchan to look his way too. I’m so sorry if you can’t see this, because to me, it’s absolutely beautiful.
