― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Princess.
“One must always be careful of books,“ said Tessa, “and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.”
“They say you cannot love two people equally at once, and perhaps for others that is so. But you and Will—you are not like two ordinary people, two people who might have been jealous of each other, or who would have imagined my love for one of them diminished by my love of the other. You merged your souls when you were both children. I could not have loved Will so much if I had not loved you as well. And I could not love you as I do if I had not loved Will as I did.”
Another prize from my follower giveaway. This one for the sweet sweet @janecampbellgansey! Always an absolute pleasure to draw THE OT3!! It had a been a while and let me tell you it was quite an experience.

“I wouldn’t worry too much about Will, Cecily. He will have to get over your relationship with Gabriel whether he likes it or not, anyway.”
If you are an active TMI rper, reblog this post and you will be added to the masterlist. It doesn’t matter whether canon or OC characters reblog this you will be all added to the masterlist.

“I’m not familiar with anything outside of the Shadow World. I’d have a difficult time adjusting, I think.” It was his way of saying he knew exactly what she meant. Once it became part of your life, it was a permanent.
Jem felt the heat upon his face, a faint blush forming that was harder to hide against his pale skin. He shifted slightly before glancing away not wanting her to see. He knew she didn’t mean more by it, but the fact he had become important to her made him happy.
Her question startled him. She was observant; he should have expected it. He turned his gaze back to her and nodded, “I’m fine. There’s just been a lot weighing on my mind.”
“Maybe not too much trouble,” she suggested, tilting her head to the side as she watched Jem with curiosity. Difficulty or not, Tessa was confident he would be able to get used to something outside of the Shadow World if given the time. Still, it was the point of the matter, and Tessa felt her mind wander from the topic of conversation to the blush on Jem’s cheeks (which drew a small smile from her) and the words that he spoke. For a moment, she thought to simply not press for more information, to allow her friend some privacy, but the part of her mind that simply wanted to know and help Jem won out in the end. It normally did.
“Well,” Tessa said slowly, shifting to look at Jem properly. “I’m here if you want to talk it out, I hope you know. I don’t like to see you troubled, I hope you realize. I’d like to help however I can.”
There was a soft smile that formed on his lips at her answer. He knew there had been something she wanted, something she’d considered at least. “I can’t imagine going to a simpler life after being exposed to the Shadow World. It would be…different. Whether that’s a good or bad different, I can’t say.”
His gaze fell to the floor, a frown replacing the soft smile that had lingered a short time ago. His gaze returned to her, but he didn’t voice what was bothering him, “I’m not sure. The only thing I’m certain of is wanting to be around the people I care about.”
Tessa smiled sadly, breathing in deeply and taking a step toward Jem. There was something bugging him, that much she could tell, but what it was she couldn’t fathom. “I feel like it would be a bad different, at least for me. The Shadow World is strange, yet it’s part of who I am. I couldn’t just live without it anymore. Do you know what I mean?”
She sighed and clasped her hands together in front of her, eyes searching Jem’s face. “I understand. I feel the same. I cannot imagine a life any longer without you or Will in it.” Tessa paused and bit the side of her cheek. “Are you alright, Jem?”
❛ That’s the spirit. ❜ Magnus grinned like a little boy on christmas, right before he sat down on one of the park benches with Tessa. There were a lot of lovestruck couples ambling along the lakeside — just like he predicted. ❛ Watch and learn, young lady ❜, he said with a teasing tone ( cause neither was Tessa a young lady nor did she had anything to learn from him ). With a nod Magnus pointed at a young couple: the girl held a bouquet of flowers in her hands that was bigger than herself while her boyfriend didn’t look quite as happy. Magnus flicked his hand, letting blue sparks fly unobtrusively — until small spiders and little cockroaches crawled out of the bouquet and right on the girls arm ; causing Magnus to giggle like a child.
“’Young lady’? How flattering,” she said with a snort, sitting beside her friend and watching as Magnus sent bugs crawling from the boutique and up the girl’s arms. The girl screeched and dropped the flowers to the ground, shaking her arms wildly to shake the bugs off her and stomping at the flowers while the boy looked as if he didn’t know whether to be pissed or horrified. Either way, Tessa was laughing from the first scream, bending over and wiping at her eyes. “Oh, that’s horrific,” she said after she gathered her breath, scolding tone hardly serious enough to be legitimate. It definitely made her feel better about the day, and about herself; going to Magnus had been the right thing. Then again, it always was.
He still held up the necklace, starring at it, like he had never seen it. And he hadn’t seen it for decades by now. Memories seemed to surround it like spells and he swallowed bitter. “They had it for years. The Lightwoods. They wanted to trade it, but I don’t have the girl’s memories any longer. Too risky.” He shook his head slowly, and while his thoughts still wandered back to the group of Shadowhunters; to one of the faces especially, he stuffed the necklace back into his pocket.
Tessa frowned slightly and watched as Magnus pocketed the necklace, one she hadn’t seen in a very, very long time, along with the name of the family who had had it. The Lightwoods... “Why are these memories so important to them?” Tessa asked instead, head tilting to the side. She hadn’t gotten a good look at anyone but the blond and brunet, didn’t know who they were dealing with. Or, rather, who Magnus was dealing with. “Must be important if they’re going to a warlock for help.”
Hello all
I’m so sorry I’ve been away for so long (my activity says over 20 days and I cringed). A lot of shit went down IRL and I took an indefinite hiatus from all my indie blogs. Now that I’m getting better I’m slowly coming back to indie. Thank you all for your patience <3
I should head to bed, but like this for a starter and I’ll get to it after my six hour rehearsal tomorrow. It’ll give me something to think about at least.
Goodnight!
Jem contemplated her question for a moment. He turned his attention to her when he thought he had a decent answer. “I think life will be much easier. We wouldn’t have to worry about the Magister any longer.”
He paused, not sure she was looking for words that simple. Another question weighed on his mind as they were on the topic. There was no doubt she had plans after all. “What do you want life to be like?”
What did she want life to be like? She had been so wrapped up in the now that Tessa never really considered it. What did she want life to be like, years from now? She reached up and touched her angel gently, looking down at her hand and eyes glancing up through her lashes to look at Jem. “Simpler, preferably,” she began, smiling a little. “Though I suppose now a simple life wouldn’t be as fulfilling. Not now that I’ve been exposed to this world.”
Her head tilted back up, and she chewed her lip thoughtfully. “What about you? What do you want?”
PSA
I should make a note that my Mortal Instruments knowledge goes up to City of Glass. My younger self refused to read the rest and thought the third book was a perfect ending (and I still kind of do, admittedly), but the show and being here makes me want to read the last three. So, reading list currently:
-Clockwork Angel (rereading)
-City of Fallen Angels (starting)
I know that Tessa does appear in the later books at one point; I believe she helps fight, if I remember correctly. Either way, for TMI characters, I’ll do my best and research to be as accurate as possible for her relationships to your characters.

“I’m sure Ireland isn’t that bad--though if they are, please don’t kill me for saying that. I’m not a sports person.”
