âSex isnât hard, but intimacy is terrifying.â
Typically he would find a way to contain what he was experiencing but right now everything he felt was far too raw for that. Listening to the list of suggestions as she made them he considered what would help the most, âhow about we order pizza, play some video games and then maybe invent something?â He just hoped some normalcy back in his life might help shift his mood some.
Sia gave a short nod in consideration. âWhat kind of pizza?â That was the important question. âOh and do you mind if we take this back to my place, because not to brag, but I probably have a better collection of video games than the school or yourself.â Besides then they could get loud without disturbing students or getting strange looks considering recent events and all.
His mind of late had been preoccupied with worry for Lilah, who still couldnât stand the sight of him without trying to kill him or giving him a look of pure disgusted murder. She was convinced heâd killed her parents, and it pained every fibre of his being knowing that the best thing that had happened in a long time had been ripped away despite everything he tried to fix it. Raising a hand to rub absently at the fresh scar on his temple from Lilahâs last outburst at him he swallowed thickly. Pulling himself away from dwelling on those thoughts which only brought him more pain, he tried instead to focus on Sia and her suggestion of doing something. âFun?â he echoed âuh- Sure, I guessâ he agreed getting up from his chair, his characterising good humour thoroughly lacking but he attempted a faint smile, even if it didnât reach his eyes.
âYep,â she chimed back, popping the âpâ for exaggeration. Clearly he was in a substantial amount of mental anguish. The look in his eyes told the story well enough. But Sia did not know how to process those emotions. Instead she locked them behind a wall. âGreat! We could go...â she pursed her lips in contemplation. Normally fun ideas came right to mind, but there was a delay. âHow about swimming, or video games and drinking, or maybe inventing.â After the list of suggestions, she gave a shrug, waiting his input.
âWell, good news...â
âIâm not hurt!â
âIn fact, I only have a concussion!âÂ
âUmm, congrats, I guess...have you been keeping up with Dr. Osbourne...making sure it doesnât get any worse?â
His jaw worked for a few moments, tightening then relaxing repeatedly as his mind took some time to process what was being told to him until he finally let out a defeated sigh realising just what heâd been doing. âWhat the hell was I thinking?â he muttered dropping the redvine to the desk and sitting back, âthanks, I guess I canât focus on anything.â
A weak smile formed on her lips as he dropped the redvine. Dealing with emotions wasnât her thing. After the whole kidnapping incident, she had avoided any deep conversations and got heavily back into drinking. âI mean a redvine kind of looks like a USB,â she offered with a shrug. But then she started shaking her head. âNo, no, Iâm not even going to lie about that. Why donât you take a break? We could go do something fun!â Fun was always her âgo toâ thing. It distracted from emotions.
Huh? Sorry, yeah Iâve got this itâs not dangerousâŠÂ I think. I was just distracted. Iâm fine⊠Why wouldnât I be fine?
â...â Sia stared at Zach trying to keep a straight face. âWell you are trying to plug a red vine into your usb port, so....â with that she shrugged her shoulders. âYou sure you donât need some help with that mate.â As she asked this, she tried her hardest to not laugh.

The past few months in the halls of the university had been dreadful. Ever since the kidnapping, no one was the same. Hell, even Siaâs aura was less effervescent than usual. For the last few weeks, she had hidden into herself, just hitting the books to assure herself that all of her intellect was not just due to her powers. But now, more than ever, she just needed someone to talk to. So as she was wandering around, she noticed someone and quickly ran towards them. âHey there. Would you like to go play some video games and have some drinks? You look like you could use some fun.â

what would you do? | Kat, Tobias, and Sia
Before all of the things had happened, before she found herself stuck in this pile of crap, Kat was being her usual, something that meant drinking, partying, and making out with the occasional stranger. She never really liked parties hosted by her own school, due to the boundaries preventing her from everything she enjoyed, but nevertheless, she seemed to be having fun.
It all happened so suddenly, as if it were a gunshot going off. Not long ago the feeling was so lively and energetic, and then the next she found herself with a gag around her mouth and a cut lip, with bruises dotting her entire body. Altogether, the girl ached with pain and a sickening feeling had grown in her stomach. She had nowhere to run from the figure in the darkness, rocking back and forth in a chair as it threw knives at what appeared to be the door. The first thing she noticed, however, were the two other people in the darkness, appearing to be stuck in the same state she was.
She thought she would know what to do, she thought she would be ready. Her parents had warned her countless amounts of times this would happen, or that she would end up somewhere she wouldnât have any help. It seemed that the moment had happened and now, all she could seem to do was cry.Â
âWhat do you want?â She whispered.Â
There was no reply.
Tobias was actually so calm for a moment. He felt in total control of his emotions and his actions at the bonfire. He honestly felt.. happiness.Â
But of course, for Tobias, any sense of control would last no longer than five minutes. Last he knew, he was lying on his back in the sand. His eyes were reflected by the dancing flames of the fire and the smiles of his former classmates. He was content. Also a tad drunk.
But this? This was a body shock.
The taste of blood was soaking into his lips, driving him absolutely mad. His head was pounding and the small amount of light from the barred window stung his eyes.
A muffled âfuck,â attempted to escape his throat, but was blocked by the damp cloth wrapped around his head and in his mouth. This brought him to the realization that his arms and ankles were bound. Instead a feeling of despair and hopelessness, anger flooded through his veins. He knew what this was. He knew exactly what was going on.
As his blood pressure began to rise, his eyes began to feel stronger and adjusted. The first thing he noticed, just as he was about to break free of the zip ties that tightly confined his wrists, was the thing standing in the center of the room. She had a gun that shot daggers. Well, thatâs fucking fantastic, he thought to himself.Â
Tobias was not one to control his feelings or his powers so this situation really fucked with his head. Something he didnât need while trying to think of an escape plan. He had half the mind to just break free and let her shoot.
A cry brought him from his thoughts.
Iâm not alone.
Everything was going great. The bonfire was a blast - Sia was socializing with anyone at the party that didnât bore her and challenging others to silly things. Just as she was getting ready to go for a swim in the lake, the whole feeling of the party changed. For a brief moment, the woman could tell something very wrong was about to happen.
Time stopped.
Next thing she knew, her body ached and she was completely disorientated. A feint glow through a barred window was the only source of light. As she attempted to move she noticed both her legs and arms were restrained, as was her mouth - tied quite well with a gag. Her left eye throbbed in pain.
A slight shift caught her eyes. This was a rebel attack. That was the only explanation she could put to the situation. It made sense, especially after the numerous interrogations that all students and residents of the Havens had been facing. While glancing around, she noticed two others in the area also gagged and tied up. Â Kat and Tobias.Â
Once again, the movement of the gun drew her eye. The woman was calculating her attack, sizing up the three prey before making a move. Every step seemed dangerous. But for now, Sia couldnât panic - she could just think of a way out. Her dark eyes searched every corner of the room when she noticed that nothing was coming to her.Â
The flickering got more frantic. âNo, no, no, this canât be happening now. We have to get out of here,â she fretted. Heart pumping faster, she wracked her brain for a solution, glancing back at her peers. Maybe if they all worked together they could get out of this. But how could they if they werenât even able to communicate. Stress continued rising while she tried to force herself to remain calm and think of a solution. One thing did come to mind - she could slip her arms around from her back and remove the gag. But how? The rebel would surely notice. This all seemed so hopeless.
âWhere the fuck is he? That damned memory manipulator is late,â a voice hissed.Â
And in that moment, time seemed to slow. As the woman looked away for a few seconds, Sia did her best to indicate to the other two that she could slip her arms to the front and remove the gag. Mostly by just moving her arms around and hoping they understood. Perhaps they could just distract the rebel long enough for her to not be shot? They had to be quick before the memory manipulator arrived.Â
But now the moment was up and Sia tried to shift back - hoping one of them had understood the message she was trying to send.
âOoh, yes, sex on the beach is the best,â Andrew grinned happily. âPlease, do teach me your ways though, I can never get any drinks to taste nice. Generally I just mix a bunch of things together until itâs enough to get me drunk, yâknow. Classy.â
âCertainly,â Sia smiled as she pulled out the other drinks. âI mean most portions are learned by trial and error. I took a mixology class for shits and giggles once, so I picked up a few things.â With that she gave a slight shrug, remembering her own days of just drinking anything to get drunk. Then she mixed together her own recipe of sex on the beach. âThe most important thing to keep in mind is the potency of each ingredient. Here, try this.â
âCould be a good explanation.â
âAlright, yes, Iâd hate to just throw it all away. Some OJ would probably taste nice in this, but Iâm open to suggestions, too.â
âItâs possible,â she shrugged lightly as she pulled her cooler over. âWell, I do have OJ and cranberry juice. If we find some grenadine we could make a sex on the beach? I just discovered the perfect portions to make the best version of the drink.â
âOf course.â Victoria laughed lightly, accepting the drink. âWell, it sounds great, so I think Iâm gonna try it.â
âLet me know how you like it,â she smiled as Victoria took the drink. âI can make you up your own if you really like it. Then we can go do something fun?â
âAlright, like what?â he inquired, pushing up off the sand to stand in front of her. After taking a quick look around, he stretched his hand out to her to help her up.
In thought, Sia tapped her finger to her lips. What could they do? âWe could tell ghost stories to some of those drunk kids, or go build an awesome sand castle, or find a volleyball and go play some sand volleyball. Any of those sound good?â She questioned as she took Tobiasâ hand and pulled herself up.
âYeah, see?â Andrew chuckled. âGod bless you, even I canât drink that, and I thought I was pretty strong for these things.â
âI guess itâs the Russian part of me,â she joked.
âNo Iâm just kidding, but really let me grab some mixers for this. Itâd be a shame for all of this to go to waste even if it doesnât taste so good now. I think Iâve got some different juices and sodas in my cooler if you have any preferences?â
âOkay, well yes, I am alive. Please donât bury me,â he pleaded sarcastically, leaning up to wipe the dirt off of his pants. âI suppose I canât blame you.â
Sia put her hands up. âI guess I wonât for now,â she sighed dropping the clumps of dirt still in her hands. âYouâd figure more people would be doing something exciting since finals are over. But everyone is just dancing or talking about finals. We should do something fun!â
