this post made me start thinking……mike rejecting will would be out of character for him. that’s why i’m so convinced of his reciprocal feelings. hear me out.

when will speaks from his heart, mike is moved. every single time. “you’re the heart.” “yeah, i guess i did.” “what about us?” “not possible.”

i have no doubt that a love confession from will (whether a direct one or mike figuring it out on his own) would move mike emotionally in a way that renders him hopelessly in love. there’s no way in hell that mike would make it out of a “will loves me” realization without ending up madly in love w will.

i don’t see mike’s character going any other way, truthfully. they’ve shown this to us already. that’s why it was so important for the duffers to emphasize that yeah, mike was oblivious in the van and didn’t catch on to what will was saying.

because when he does catch on? that boy is done for. he’s toast. (and he’s gonna love it.)
