The Hormone Economy
This is what you get when you fuel a country on testosterone, cortisol, and dopamine.
Journal entry from last Halloween kinda rings true this week (a Ven diagram of politics, the endocrine system, and psychology).
all sigh in the cold sea wind
The natural being in a man-made environment and other lyrics born of late-night constellations and consternations: Can this wait, or do I have to get it out of my system (Book cover titles that wrap inside the foldout front pages series, pt.1 : Idyllicisms, absurdities and reasons to go outside)
We’re at peace / we’re at rest / snuuggled in or / little nest

Michael Palin can transmit empathy, and often has, in scenes from silly to sad and serious, like very few other actors and writers of his generation. Even in interviews he may rather not have to do just then. My dad, his contemporary and otherwise serious man, feels the same. McKenzie Crook seems guided along by similar presence: Was that acting? Or gratitude?
It is very hard to live sensibly as one gets older, surrounded by dusty objects whose sole license to stay indefinitely is the visual link to a reality I fear might not otherwise exist.
Camping helps. You can’t take much with you.

Most people: I don’t have time to learn the nuances or protocols of your condition or disease or whatever.
My partner: It never occurred to me that you were autistic.
Me: There’s a reason for that.
Though I have optimism and sorrow in equal measure, I find hidden levity and light in working words around the wind in our hair and that stupid tree root you keep tripping over.
The destiny of fear has a terminus. The future of hope? Continuous.

Drying Puddle could be the title of my autobiography.
Memories of us will be diffused
Memories of us will diffuse
Memories of us have diffused;
memories of us are diffusing.
Fellowship is in the coalescences,
dark pride and love bright
…
Les souvenirs de nous seront diffusés
Les souvenirs de nous vont se répandre
Les souvenirs de nous se sont répandus ;
les souvenirs de nous se répandent.
La bourse est dans la coalescences,
fierté sombre et amour brillant
the seasons, the senses? Spring has taken her consensus upon us, dear Michigan, this one has spent me raw, full-on kaleidoscope!lurching (gloom to glint), the tent-on-lake a basket of bokeh and a pocketful of sand; the chill, and hard trill warble-sparks sneak past the old guard Heron spied through the dew

Or reduce to fractions,
fragments really (Spoilers: for sale or rent)
How much of evidential human history has already been destroyed by discoverers riding a different narrative into a petty sunset of burnt sienna and cold cave fear

Zero transparency = Ugly results
We were taught, in essence, that there was no downside to Progress that Progress wouldn’t add-ress, which is a form of sick-ness in and of its self-ness. Pro-fessionally speaking, of course. We became a society organized and conquered by commerce, one commercial advertisement and credit card offer at a time. One choice, one chase, one purchase (now sub-scription) at a time. Meta-phorically speaking, of course.
Life is Not a Race, 31 Dec. ‘25
The US permitted—sometimes quite literally—large and otherwise influential companies and developers to organize our cities, towns, communities, neighborhoods and families around the promise of employment or threat of leaving town.
That is an organized religion.
