watching the first ep of superman the animated series with the tadpole and going “ah the fate of krypton seems less implausible now” which is frankly pretty depressing
The Goblin Emperor is set in a pre-steampunk society because if it was set in a modern society, Csevet would have Excel and would become Too Powerful.
i am not even remotely a gardener by nature
i really really loved eva. what a great character.
watching project hail mary and it is so far living up to the hype
decluttering my kitchen continues one soul sucking meeting at a time.
I spent a large part of my time at Ikea today mentally workshopping a vid of the black widows, most of the thunderbolts (not red guardian), gamora, etc to muse's "psycho" and now I just want to think about them all in the wake of trying to be people after being weapons and it is great. love that journey for them.
today I wrestled the flat packs for a kitchen island from ikea into my car all by myself.
the iron garden sutra was very good.
sad panda the slightly more local to me persian restaurant does not quite hit the right flavors on their koobideh and they don’t have the chicken koobideh that the husband likes, but their mast-o-khiar and saffron rice were great.
one of the upsides to the light rail is i can get to pike place a lot easier so maybe i can get to other persian food with minimal effort.
this is how i am trying not to worry about potential future layoffs yay
i had legit forgotten how great a casting choice Toby Stephens as Poseidon is
fuck yeah a bakery that serves croissants is opening up in my town
this is on me but i should have checked the page count on that book (Automatic Noodle by Annalee Newitz, not first person, ended super abruptly, i would read at least five books in a series about these precious robots).
Hell’s Heart by Alexis Hall is gender swapped space Moby Dick and it was very good in some parts and, I think, trying too hard in others. I also think it was trying to hit the TLT crowd via lesbians and memes but that part didn’t super work for me. I did very much like the religious aspects and the bodily alienation mixed with corporate dystopia.
i inch ever closer to my two remaining fitness goals for the year. i can reliably get to 250 m on the row machine in under a minute and i can get to 400 m in about 1:37 which suggests that i should be able to make it like 20 more seconds but i have so far absolutely failed to make it past the 400 m mark without having to stop or go much slower.
i haven’t fully tested my bench press in a bit though so idk how that is going.
