"Accidental Tarot Deck (1/78): Ace of Cups"

The first of a series by Sienna Fleegal - myself. While going through old pictures today, I discovered an accidental collection of "tarot cards" I have created in my photography through the years. Introducing the first of many: the ever sturdy and resilient life of the Ace of Cups.

A broken, abandoned metal bot in the forest sits on a large, mossy boulder that is marbled with the lichen. The scene is overtaken by beutiful life from the lush green summer foliage. Taken in April of 2017.

Seeing footage of the aftermath of the flour massacre in Gaza is so painful

"Where is my daughter? Tell her I don't want flour anymore"

"My brother was shot holding a bag of flour. He kept holding on to it so they kept shooting him"

"Why does flour have to be stained with blood?"

Over 100 have been killed. Every single one of them hungry. Every single one of them has someone waiting for them to come back with the bag of flour.

Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war against innocent civilians. Israel ambushes starving Palestinians and shoots them. Israel is not fighting a war to defend itself. This is another episode of Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The Iraq war was raging. Israel was committing its routine violations and killings.

The images were devastating and unequivocally condemning of both the USA and Israel, but I remember the editors would reject all my picks and demand images of burnt cars or vague images of destruction.

So I brought a hard drive and collected everything they didn't publish.

It was my first live glimpse of the lack of ethics or integrity in most US media.

Not the journalists on the ground, but of the senior editors making the calls - in their self important glass cubicles.

And no, to the cynics out there..it's not all too complicated to discuss on social media.

Social media is the only reason we know what's happening in Palestine.

And the only reason mainstream news has to keep up and sprinkle some actual news now and then.

Meanwhile we are seeing much less footage coming out of Gaza - Israel has been killing off all the journalists.

This is terrifying.”

Aaron Bushnell it's trending. His name is trending. His screams of Free Palestine weren't in vain. Because Tumblr can try and censore palestinian blogs, and keep palestine from trending, but we will always find a way to bring revolution to the world.

So I found Aaron Bushnell's reddit and went through his comments/posts. That young man was well read and stable as they can be. Nothing in his writings pointed to someone who was "unstable" or "brainwashed".

He held leftist and anarchist ideals. He belong to the ACAB subreddit. He recognized the evil of the US Military even though he himself was a part of it. He hated TERFS and called out fatphobia. He understood the dangers of white supremecy and the evils of capitalism.

He had a cat. He liked the show fleabag and played elden ring.

Apparently in his will he wants to leave any money in his name to palestinian relief funds. He was trying to find a new owner for his cat.

Rest in peace Aaron Bushnell. The world won't forget & we sure as fuck won't let the media paint you out to be some crazy conspiracy theorist who had no idea what he was doing.

That is the absolute least that we can do for Palestine.

The Palestinians are begging for us to use our voice. Some of them don’t even have access to internet, so their suffering goes unnoticed.
