Working on my Mass Effect Fic again...

Figured I should at least finish a couple of fics I have on AO3. xD

MercShep!AU Series What if Shepard became a crime lord in the Traverse instead of an N7 and a Spectre? A universe where Kaidan, Ashley and James are Spectres working under Captain David Anderson, and no one is who they seem.  Start with The Price of Freedom, which is an AU take of Red Skies, the Origin Story of my Infiltrator, Remy Shepard on Mindoir.

The latest story in the Merc!Shep AU is Turning Point, which is basically a re-telling of Liara T’Soni’s recruitment on Therum during ME1. In this universe, Shepard poses as a merc hired by Saren, and he has to get to Liara before Saren does.

New chapter is upcoming for Turning Point very soon! (In which Kaidan gets Liara out of that pesky Prothean security field instead of Shepard xD)

The Quarian and the Infiltrator series tells the story of Remy Shepard and Tali’Zorah vas Normandy vas Neema nar Rayya. There are 13 stories in this series, including my ME Big Bang 2016 story Touched by Memory, which happens not long after the crew recruits Javik on Eden Prime.

The latest story is The Man in the Mirror, which takes place about 30 years post-Reaper war. Is Cerberus trying to make a comeback? Shepard and Garrus are pulled out of semi-retirement to find out. And there’s a secret that might come back to haunt the original Normandy crew in the long run.

There’s a new chapter in the works for this one too. Stay tuned!

For  N7 Day: Volus (2)

“I AM A BIOTIC GOD!!”

Of all the non-human races in the original ME trilogy, the volus are my favorite. I loved the Biotic God in ME2, and their grouchy, cranky, cantankerous attitudes was actually a great contrast to the cool, elegant Asari and the straightforward Turians.

The (one) time I tried playing ME Multiplayer, I immediately made up Volus Engineer, Gufus Nax. Gufus popped up in my Mass Effect AU (where Shepard is a crime lord and not a Spectre) as a Volus N7 agent who ends up paired with Nihlus (xD) and Kaidan.

Costumes at Commander (Remy) Shepard’s Halloween Party, Post-Reaper War

Kaidan– 1950s Bad Boy. Think John Travolta in Grease, with the leather jacket and the slicked-back hair

Ashley– Grecian goddess. Dazzling white and gold.

Garrus–The turian version of Iron Man. Red and Gold instead of Black and Blue. He’s been reading Joker’s comic book collection.

Wrex–The Incredible Hulk. Green paint with a short black wig over his crest on his head. Give him katanas and he looks more like a Ninja Turtle.

Grunt–He’s the Ramen Noodle Restaurant Guy. 

Kasumi–The Invisible Woman. Not that much of a stretch from the usual, actually.

Joker– Count Jeffrey ‘Bloodsucker’ Moreau, Vampire Extraordinaire.

EDI–Count Jeffrey’s consort, with a red gown and artificial fangs

James– Cowboy, complete with ten-gallon hat, lasso and spurs. Looks like the ultimate vaquero.

Steve–He just shows up in his old Trident pilot’s gear.

Liara–Southern belle, with crinoline dress and fan. And Southern drawl to match.

Jack–Punk rocker. Spiked hair, nose ring, high leather boots, the works.

Miranda– Elvira. Black hair piled on the top of her head and slinky black gown.

Zaeed–Cigar-chomping gangster. Really not that different from the usual.

Karin Chakwas–Doctor, steampunk style.

Jacob–Werewolf. Runs around trying to scare Liara and Tali with the mask.

Tali–1920′s flapper girl.

Shepard–Took a page from Zaeed’s book and dressed up like a 1920′s hit man. Complete with duster coat and fedora.

Javik–refuses to dress up. Halloween is for primitives. Though someone tried to stick a pair of nerd glasses on him for the aesthetic.

Okay…this is interesting. Beska ended up split half-and-half at the end of ME1. 8 Paragon, 8 Renegade. None of my other Sheps have done that.

Let’s see…Beska

…told that xenophobic admiral who wanted to make an inspection of the Normandy (Rear Admiral Mikhailovich) to go to hell.

…told Khalisah al-Jilani to get lost, but did not punch her. (Yes, that’s actually an option. I didn’t know that existed before this run)

…told Finch she didn’t care if he tried to blackmail her about her time in the Reds (and actually got the respect of the Turian guard in Chora’ Den…Earthborn background)

…”It’s a big, stupid jellyfish.”

…bumped off Rana Thanopolis on Virmire (that scientist that was indoctrinated and killed people in ME3 if you spared her)

…killed off the Rachni Queen on Noveria (and really pissed off Liara in the process)

…spied on people on Noveria and smuggled in package for Opold.

…gave Lorik Quin the evidence but ‘forgot’ to talk to Gianna Parsini before leaving for Peak 15

…came really close to losing most of the colonists on Feros.

…ended up shooting Major Kyle (her former C.O. on Torfan. Beska has the Ruthless background)

…sacrificed the engineers to stop Balak in Take Down the Sky. Also bumped off his lieutenant Charn. She grazed Balak, then shot him and left him to bleed to death. o.O

…used renegade options to manipulate Saren

But she also:

…got Officer Besker to release Nirali Bhatia’s body on the Citadel

…refused to give classified Alliance info to Cerberus after Adm. Kahoku’s death

…saved Kaidan on Virmire.

…didn’t shoot Wrex (in fact, she ended up with Wrex and Garrus as her support team most times)

…helped Captain Kirrahe’s chances to surviving. She does what she can for the mission to succeed, and that meant helping Kirrahe, even if that ‘hold the line’ thing drove her nuts.

…did end up saving the Council because Kaidan was there with her on the Citadel (but I think she may regret that later in ME2 and ME3)

Garrus actually took a snapshot of this little…uh…hang-up. It’s hilarious, considering Shepard is actually not a bad driver. At least he claims not to be.

“Well, shit, Skipper…”

“He actually took a holo of that?! I’ll never live this one down.”

“How’d you get caught on a tent pole, Skipper? I mean, seriously?”

“Fell on it. Straight down. Got caught. Garrus, Wrex and I had to literally shove it off the supports and back onto the ground.”

“You drove off a cliff and fell on the damn thing?”

“Yeah…pretty much. Just…don’t tell anyone. I’ve got a rep to protect.”

“Too late. Joker’s already circulated it around the crew.”

“…crap…”
