@siihayaa
So I got soft blocked in YouTube by the PlayTombRaider account just for asking for a Spanish dubbing in LoA.
Dude, you didn't give me the right to even be rude. I wasn't even bringing the whip to the conversation yet.
some people will be like “I wonder why fanfic writers don’t share their works anymore😔” and then this is them when a writer is kind enough to share something they write — as a hobby, for their own enjoyment — with them for free.
some people really don’t realize how privileged they are that they get fanfics for free. imagine having access to something for free because someone is kind enough to share it with you… and then being rude, entitled and an ungrateful pos to that person who was kind enough to share their creation with you for free
“almost 1 year is a lil too much for me” fuck off. fanfic writers don’t owe you anything. one of my favorite fics was updated after 13 years, and what I did is that I thanked the author for choosing to continue the work, I didn’t act like a spoiled toddler by asking why they didn’t update sooner. and even if a writer chooses to abandon their fic permanently with no explanation, that is their choice, their hobby, their decision. they don’t owe your entitled ass anything.
you people let tiktok rot your brains to the point you see everything as content farm and engagement. not a piece of art created by the artist’s love and passion. it’s dystopian.
I can’t believe that people are crying that the new tomb raider game got rid of the torture porn death scenes.
They added nothing to the game and were only there for gooners. Not to mention it was following the 2010s trend of female characters getting tortured and brutalized for development. It’s not a mystery that they were removed.
Not to be a gate keeper but if you can’t progress in tomb raider 1 after an hour i don’t wanna hear your opinions on tomb raider tomb raider 1 is so linear
Continuing with the realistic style I adopted as of late, with a recommendation from a friend to try it with Kurtis this time ✨️
TOMB RAIDER: LEGACY OF ATLANTIS (2027) dev. Crystal Dynamics
It's cool to see the name Kurtis Trent again, but I hope it's an easter egg and nothing else. Because story-wise, it makes no sense, unless the unified version of AoD somehow takes place before LoA.
Kurtis should be unknown, not a name to appear in a magazine. Unless him using his changed name means that he feels safe from the Cabal? And anyone else who might be after him? But even then, anything mentioned about him could lead to something he wouldn't want revealed.
Assuming the events in the unified timeline take place in the same times as in original timeline, this is the year Kurtis would leave the Foreign Legion. So what is "the unknown" mentioned here? Random demons? (Or it's a name, The Unknown, an actual monster he has to fight?)
Yes, so, anyway, I feel like this is just an easter egg for the fans, with "the unknown" being that we don't know what's going to happen with him (if anything) in the franchise, and not what he's currently facing in the TR world during the time Larson was looking for Lara.

Green Velvet Gown Coruscant
As her husband considered his loyalties, she remained alone in her apartment. She wore a hooded green velvet dress that displayed patterns of the House Bonteri, and a purple Onderon silk sash.

Based on what we're given in the classic games, the relationship between Lara and Von Croy is extremely fascinating and complex. Despite their heated rivalry and Von Croy's perceived abandonment when Lara became trapped in the pyramid, they still deeply care for each other.
Lara had every right to be furious and resentful towards what Von Croy had done to her in Egypt, but she still cared for him enough to pay him a visit before he was murdered before her eyes and seek rightful vengeance for his death. Von Croy's resentment is more inexcusable because he placed unrealistic expectations on a 16-year-old Lara who had to prioritise saving her own life first to avoid being killed. However, he did demonstrate genuine care when he attempted to rescue her before the pyramid caved in. He even went so far as to search for Lara after the collapse, which speaks volumes about him and their relationship.
In AOD, there’s a photograph that Von Croy owns, depicting him and Lara working together. This suggests that there were times they set their rivalry aside to collaborate. It's a picture that captures the happier moments they shared, making it both bittersweet and heartwarming.
I imagine that the death of Von Croy is a heavy burden on Lara's heart, even though she has conflicting emotions about the former world-renowned archaeologist. A significant loss like that isn't something that can be easily forgotten! While she isn't one to dwell on the past, it feels realistic that her history haunts her in ways she can never fully shake off.
The relationship between the two archaeologists is undoubtedly one of the most captivating dynamics in the classic TR games!
I'll be honest with y'all... I'm a multishipper.
I generally don't like popular ships due to my own opinions and personal tastes. I've always preferred more niche ships because they often showcase the most fascinating chemistry in ways that feel more appropriate and engaging. In my opinion, ships can include platonic pairings that aren't necessarily romantic or sexual in nature, but most people think of romance when they read or hear about this sorta thing.
Lara x Kurtis is one of the few super popular ships that I genuinely enjoy because they complement each other in various ways, making them equals as Core Design originally intended. They showcase a wonderful potential for fun and meaningful chemistry that I often don’t see in many other extremely popular ships. For crying out loud, in the comic remake of AOD, Kurtis is one of Lara's love interests as far as I know!
There are a couple of other TR ships that I'm fond of, including Larson x Pierre, because their characterisation nicely bounces off each other, creating an entertaining dynamic. I will admit that there are some TR ships that shouldn't exist for various reasons, such as Lara x Karel because there's a significant amount of misogynistic negativity tied to that pairing among other valid concerns.
I know that in an alternate universe, AOD wasn't rushed by Eidos Interactive and became one of the greatest video games of all time, wowing many TR fans. It would've also received two well-deserved sequels and a spin-off game focused on Kurtis Trent.

No spoilers for now but:
Lara is fun and cheeky again
story is fine/villain is great
the humour is a lil' corny but charming
Lara talks more like an actual British woman
After a weak start with the Netflix show I really hope we get more of THIS unified Lara 🫶
...also what if?? 👀
