Hey, y'all. I know I've been quiet on here for a long time. But I'm getting back into Pokémon and hoping anyone on here can help me with something.

I'm playing Platinum for the first time. Now, I've beat Pearl and Shining Pearl, but I've never played Platinum and it's always been a dream to do that. And especially, I've always wanted to play with a shaymin in my party. Now, I know that the event to get a Toys 'R Us Shaymin in the US has been over for 16 frickin' years.

But Shaymin is maybe my favorite legendary. Is there any way to get a "fateful encounter" one on to my Platinum for DS? Any way at all to get this adorable bastard?? And so that it's possible to trigger receiving the gracidea flower from the character in Floaroma Town and therefore switch successfully in-game to sky forme??

Please advise. 😭 I have a DS action replay, but found that just getting Oak's Letter isn't enough without the matching wonder card?

If anyone has the knowledge of what to do, i would welcome and appreciate your help. 🙏🏼

Y'all. I just want to say...

It happened today!! Thank you to everyone for explaining all the various ways to make this dream happen. Thanks to you, I figured out stuff about connecting to Wiimmfi and I got Oak's Letter and IT WORKED IT WORKED IT IT WORKED IT WORKED!! IT WORKED!!!!

I am so blown away by all your help and for taking the time to explain things to a stranger. I'm so grateful. This has been such a long held dream of mine and you helped me. Thank you. Thank you so much. Not gonna lie, I got emotional going through the cut scene.

Absolutely can't wait to finally play through Platinum proper with this little friend. 🌸
