Heyyy 😬 you'd be surprised that this rewrite is still happening. And the feeling would be mutual if you still got the notification of this update considering how long I've let this caught dust 😭
But anyways, this one's a short one but because literally anything after this part of the story is entering into "final boss" territory. So, might as well get the side quests over with first before we get to the main course. 🤸♀️
Hope you enjoy! 💌

"You naive child."
With firm composure and steeled gaze, you sat across from her place at the head of the long dinner table in a cold dining hall of cracking marble pillars and stained tiles. But you've seen enough of this Stand's effects on you that you've grown almost expect an encounter like this again everytime you closed your eyes.
The chandelier lights didn't function, neither were the light fixtures on the walls, leaving the room lit by the silver-blue hue of the moonlight spilling from the floor-to-ceiling window behind the matriarchal Stand.
And beside the moon was the lone star that remained fixed in that solitary night sky, gleaming stronger than it ever had.
"You have the audacity to stay still and put on this brave front at the dinner table after the many attempts you tried to escape my manor," It hissed, the shadows that curled around her acting erratically in response to its anger. "I'd rather you yell and try an on attack me or break my windows again than put on this pathetic display of thinking you know better."
"And what if I did?" You said, though it didn't stop your hands from shaking from where it clutched on your skirt beneath the table. "Outside of you being a distorted version of my mother, you aren't her. Hell, I barely remember her face."
Its shadows began to pool around your feet again, coiling its tendrils up to your ankles. "You're just an entity stuck in my nightmares. You can't do anything to me in the real world if I don't let you."
There was no point in fleeing the dream construct of what was you remembered of your childhood home. Not when your mother's Stand had latched onto your soul like a post-mortem parasite.
And that was the mistake you initially did the first half of your journey with the Crusaders. Run. Hide. Get impulsive and lash out. Which had led you nowhere but to an accumulation of anxiety and fear.
But if there's one thing about repeated exposure to an event, it's learning new things through the concept of trial-and-error.
You managed to construct a loose idea of how your mother's Stand functioned: An attempt to attack her resulted to the Stand manipulating Silent Sanctuary to blindly attack the nearest person. The more you allowed the Stand to influence you, the more power it has when controling Sanctuary.
On the other hand, the more you are able to let the Stand remain what it is, a memory, the less power you are giving it. And now that you're testing your hypothesis out, the growing agitation of the Stand seems to proving you right.
"You are foolish to think you've grown past me. Your own mother who raised you to be the perfect child The World wanted you to be."
"I've managed to live by my own for years long after I forgot the specifics about you." The shadows crept further up to wrap around your arms, but you paid them no attention as you kept your voice firm. "I am still living on my own even as you're tormenting me at the moment."
The Stand warped itself to you instantaneously, its icy fingers gripping your chin to face you directly into its furious ruby eyes. The inky void progressed faster than it eved did. It scoffed. "I can feel your tremors beneath my fingertips. The shakiness underneath your calm. You are still terrified, little one. Might as well drop the act."
It wasn't wrong. You were quivering with the shattered memories you had with that woman, but you held onto your conviction against this "memory" trying to drag you under. "Terrified? Yes. But at least I learned to be dignified about you. Unlike a certain someone who continues to sell their dignity to a bloodthirsty vampire for a few scraps of the fame you used to have-"
"INSOLENT CHILD!"
The Stand roared as it raised its hand to slap you, but its own shadows managed to engulf you completely before you could feel the impact.
And in the depths of its cold embrace, a single ray of starlight pierced through the veil of the void, reaching down to pull you away from the dark and engulf you into its comforting warmth.

If the night prior was the pinnacle of sweet, relieving success of a love confession between teenagers, then the morning after was the awkward aftermath. That bashful, almost ground-breaking realization that you and Jotaro were suddenly... a thing.
The same infamous Jotaro "grumpy aloof delinquent of delinquents in school" Kujo.
Finding out that he had been actively suppressing a crush he developed all this time, even before you could process that the crush was two-way, was just the cherry on top of this whole scenario.
Not like you complained. At all.
The warm hues of early sunlight spilled through the window, casting a cozy ambiance for anyone to open their eyes to. Waking up next to him with his arm secured loosely around your waist in a hotel room was one thing as a companion you could trust. As a lover? It was delightfully different.
That, and seeing him still asleep with a few of his loose dark curls framing his forehead, free from the confines of his ripped hat.
You couldn't help but smile and lean forward to nuzzle the underside of his jaw, trailing up to leave a soft kiss on the corner of his lip. Two of many privileges you now had access to.
He woke up with a sleepy grumble and looked down at you with a hint of affection behind the grogginess of his eyes. He caressed your hair that had the cherry blossom hairpin he gave you, and pulled you closer to him by the waist before returning to sleep with a content huff.
Safe to say, the two of you walked out that room with the innocent version of an afterglow. A somewhat mix of bashfulness and smug pride on your face, and an aloof yet shy look on his.
Now you couldn't help but resist the constant temptation to hold his hand every chance you get. An epitome of new young lovers as the old folks would say.
By the time you met up with the guys back in the lobby, they immediately could sense the shift between you and Jotaro. Like side-eyeing hounds, they had that knowning glance directed at the two teenagers, especially Kakyoin and Polnareff who stared at you with faux disgust.
"So... something special happened~" The bread-cheeked little smile stayed on your face as you skipped over to Pol like a younger sibling excited to show their older brother a thing they found. "Take a guess."
The Frenchman cocked a brow, drifting his gaze between the pin in your hair and your cheeky expression. "Mademoiselle... you just noticed?" Your wide-eyed sparkle turned into a deadpan and a pout, prompting Pol to crack a wide grin and ruffle your hair. "It was obvious! You didn't have to tell us!"
"It's pretty baffling how you managed to make it this far without acting on it sooner," Kakyoin dryly added.
Polnareff turned to the delinquent, ever the guy that constantly watched you with honey in those sharp teal eyes of his. "You look proud of yourself, buddy!"
Jotaro's immediate response was his trademark scowl and middle finger.
"Here I thought you two were doing other suggestive things last night," Kakyoin said with casual bluntnes, only for the red-haired boy to get whacked from behind by a glaring Jotaro with flushed cheeks. Nori gave him a pointed stare in return. "Kidding."
A hand touched your shoulder. "While your newfound relationship with Jotaro is unsurprisingly cute," Avdol commented with a smile before his look turned somber. "It's best we return our focus to Holly. We don't have that much time left."
At that, the playful mood shifted between the younger Crusaders to that of focused determination. The team gathered themselves one last time and stepped out their lodging to face the day and finish what they traveled for.
Needless to say, despite the mind set to the mission, you and Jotaro stayed close for the entirety of the walk, never letting either out of sight.
Everyone did what could be done: From Mr. Joestar making a phone call to check on his daughter, down to asking nearly every local within the vicinity about the whereabout of the elusive headquarters, tinged with the desperation that Holly's condition continued to worsen.
You weren't one to miss the telltale signs of increasing anxiety emanating from the delinquent, from his furrowed brows and pressed lips, to the faintest tremors of his hands. Each time, you gave him a gentle touch to ease his worries even just a tiny bit.
Along the way, someone tapped you from behind that caused you and Jotaro to pause and turn, separating both of you from the others.
A boy not older than 12 approached you holding a large book that appeared to be a comic book with a... "unique artstyle" for a lack of a better term. It was clear he was embarrassed the second you diverted your attention to him.
Poor kid couldn't make it through a sentence without stammering and turning pink under your curious gaze and Jotaro's intense scrutiny.
A commotion was heard involving none other than main man Polnareff himself, standing awkwardly against the wall a couple feet away from where you were. The others turned to interrogate the flustered Frenchman, before the latter sneezed, dragging out a familiar blond Western man with a gun for a Stand from the corner, and letting him stumble over to an oil jar and shatter it.
You wanted to check in with the guys but just as you were about to excuse yourself to the kid, he was gone.
Out of the blue, a speeding vehicle ran down the street as it frantically honked, startling every person in sight. The spilled oil became a hazard that led the car to swivel out of control and into your direction.
Jotaro was the first to move, always the most reactive, and pushed both you and himself out of the way at the last second, with the vehicle brushed past the end of his gakuran. You could only process so much, gasping from how fast everything went down as you clutched onto his uniform.
The collision occurred nearby and you gazed in fear as the car crashed onto the other Crusaders in its path.
You couldn't move. Seeing all your friends injured and unconscious made all your muscles lock up and freeze, the sight all too familiar. Even a fraction of the possibility that the accident could have... could have-
Jotaro held your shoulders firmly, asking you to breathe and look at him. Your heart pounded in your chest and it was hard to breathe, but you focused on him and began to take deep intakes of air. One unsteady inhale and exhale to another. He stood by you with his hands smoothing your arms, waiting as you calmed down.
A few steady breaths later and you confirmed you were okay. He nodded and went off to help the others.
With your composure restored, you spotted a quick flash of movement from the corner of your eye. It was the boy with the large storybook getting into an exapserated arugment.. with the Westerner with a blond bravado and skittish tendencies.
Hol Horse.
You narrowed your eyes. With how detailed the exchange was (considering the kid often pointed to his book as if to prove a point), it didn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together.
If there was one thing about you, it was that no one is allowed to take your open-mindedness as a trick or an advantage. Otherwise, a due Stand intervention would be laid out and served to the recipient. Like the boy and his audacity.
You didn't bother with the cowboy. You had the hunch he was destined to fail if he had to team up with a child to perserve any dignity left in him. Without another glance, you joined Jotaro and the others as paramedics rushed past you to carry the blond (and the unconcsious boy nearby) into the ambulance.
"What happened?" Jotaro asked.
You shrugged. "It's nothing. Civilians caught in the crossfire." Jotaro quirked a brow but said nothing after, figuring it's best to leave it at that.
---
It's been a few hours since then. Once the guys recovered, everyone wasted no time returning to unfinished business. Mr. Joestar had found a local with the intel they needed. He was shady but the guy had the networking prowess and high resolution photographic memory of Cairo's streets.
Sure, the same local arrived in an unusual get up of a beggar with an entitlement over the plaza you stood at (and had squabbled with Polnareff unprovoked), but as soon as Avdol smoothed things over, the man donned his sunglasses and bid his farewell to locate DIO's headquarters.
"Seriously Avdol," Pol started. "Do you actually think that guy can locate the mansion? We've met a lot of scammers. How can we be sure this one's different?"
"He's an acquaintance of mine. I've known him to be quite knowledgable of Cairo's intricacies, having studied and explored every corner, alley, and building the capital has to offer," Avdol said. "If he can't find it, then no else can."
Pol groaned. "You say that but we looked around for 3 days and still couldn't find it. Don't judge me when I find it hard to believe some guy in sunglasses could find it in 3 hours."
"I believe Polnareff here has lost his hearing a bit because he completely missed the difference between a group of foreigners looking for a location, and a local living here for years looking for the same thing," Kakyoin casually quipped in the back with a shrug. "Not that I can judge for loss of sensory input. My sight's slightly crappy now anyways."
The Frenchman stared back at the red-haired teen, incredulous. The later held up a peace sign and continued to mouth an intentioned "matching."
"You know what? Whatever." Pol brushed his sarcasm aside with a dramatic roll of his eyes. "Speaking of being annoying, I haven't seen Iggy in a while. Where the hell did that stupid mutt run off to?"
"Miss the mean puppy already, Pol?" You teased. "Thought you hated the little shit."
"I do hate him! He's a huge pain in my ass! But," He rubbed his nape. "At the same time, he's still technically part of the team... and it feels like we're lacking a team member."
Pol turned to Avdol again, groaning. "Aren't dogs supposed to like humans? What a cynical little piece of shit."
"Or you can just say you miss the mutt," Jotaro added dryly.
"You three are relentless, aren't you?" The Frenchman pointed at the teenagers staring at him like an elderly man cussing at meddling children. "I'm older than you by the way!"
Said teenagers shared a nonchalant, low high five with each other.
What was supposed to be a few hours turned to half a day as the blue sky of morning became the setting orange of late afternoon. Yet the team remained where they were on the plaza, waiting for a local Avdol said should've returned by now.
"The sun's setting..." Mr. Joestar muttered.
"Surely, for someone who knows the place, he should've reported to us a while ago," You said before turning to Avdol, who also grew uneasy. "I trust you enough to think he isn't a con artist that scammed us for cash. You don't think he... found it but-"
"It might have been better if he didn't, now that it occurred to me," Avdol replied. "But you're likely right. He did find it and that's exactly why he hasn't returned."
You took a deep breath to quell the rising fear in your spirit. 'I don't even want to think what Stand user could be guarding DIO's gate.' You glanced at Jotaro, who had his arms crossed low around his midsection. One look would tell you no difference in his expression, but you didn't miss the way arms subtly shifted and tightened around himself, above his bandaged abdomen where he got stabbed by Anubis. 'I can't even imagine a worse user than that sword that isn't DIO himself...'
"Damn that dog! Where the hell did he go?!" Polnareff said as a frustrated attempt to change the topic into something lighter.
"Now I'm worried. We haven't seen either for quite a while," Mr. Joestar said.
Unable to keep it to himself, the Frenchman stood from his spot and kicked a nearby empty can hard enough to send it flying an impressive distance. "Stupid mutt. Just show up already!"
A few heartbeats later and something light could be heard shuffling a couple feet away from the team. Jotaro was the first to notice and turned to the direction of the source. You followed suit, then the others.
As if on cue with Pol's exasperation, a small Boston Terrier that carried an unreasonable amount of seething made himself known from around the corner as he approached the team.
Heavily injured.
And limping with one leg amputated from his body.
Polnareff gasped. "Iggy!"
Everyone rushed over to surround the staggering canine, concern etched on their faces. Immediately, you got on your knees as the dog hobbled one more step before collapsing into your arms with a quiet whimper.
Pol cursed as he crouched next to you, hands hovering near the canine. "What happened?! You.... You're leg's missing! You look like you've been at the gates of hell!"
"Considering he isn't the type of dog to get into any car accidents, you might as well be correct," Avdol said grimly.
You peeked at the bandages placed on his body as you stroked his head. "But it looks like someone already treated his wounds. We should settled Iggy somewhere he can recover before we trace back the direction he came from."
In an act of defiance or a means to preserve his pride, Iggy wrestled himself out of your arms and got back on his remaining three paws to hobble ahead. Facing a specific direction, he growled and barked once at the group and began moving.
A bitter wave of dread rolled through you with every step you took following Iggy. 'This is it... We're really a few more steps away from our destination...'
The others remaining stiff as they walked alongside you was enough of a tell that they felt the same.
A couple more steps.
Than another.
And finally, appearing from around the corner, was the domed building everyone had been searching for. It wasn't towering nor did it gleam in a way that made itself stand out from the public eye, but knowing 'who' occupied that building made stepping within its vicinity a death sentence.
DIO's Headquarters. Finally before your eyes.
Once you've finally deal with him, then your nightmares would be over. You could finally get one step out of the mud and start making progress into piecing your memories together. That dread that wormed its way into your heat burned into a resolve to finish what has been started.
You wouldn't let DIO scare you when you made it this far.
Jotaro stood beside you, an imposing yet comforting figure that never failed to make you feel safe with his quiet confidence. "If we beat the shit out of him, right here and now, it'll all be over."
"He's here," Polnareff said next. "There's no doubt about it. This... dread is his. He's in there right now."
Kakyoin took a deep breath. "Which means..."
"We've finally reached the last stop of the journey," you said.
Each one of you glanced and nodded at each other, sharing one last look of the camaraderie shared among you throughout the trip, before turning back to the looming infrastructure waiting for its guests like a hungry beast.
Mr. Joestar clenched his fist. "Let's go."
No objections were made as you and the others stepped into the abyss. The beginning of the end.
Letting everyone know that after months of hiatus, I'm happy to say that Chapter 13 of Polaris is now available in the drafts and will be posted soon!
And because it's been so long since the last update, I'm just going to assume majority of the people who'll find this are new and don't know what the hell "Polaris" is.
Just to give a quick summary:
Polaris is a hybrid of a "Jotaro Kujo x Reader" fic and a "Rewrite" fic of Stardust Crusaders. In other words, it's an AU where everything from Part 3 and beyond would deviate into a timeline where it slightly deviates from canon because of your role in the story.
There are currently 12 chapters available to read and find out what I'm yapping about, or reread just to catch up on the story. All of it is in my pinned masterlist or right here in this very sentence.
Chapter 13 will be posted tomorrow! So stay tuned! - 💌
I feel we don't talk about how Jotaro is written enough. Because I honestly struggle to think of characters written quite like him. He's a character who doesn't emote much and doesn't talk about his feelings, so who he really is can only be observed by looking at his actions and the actions done to him in the big picture.
For starters I feel a lot of people forget the kind of home Jotaro grew up in; his father was never home and his mother never told him "no". Once you strip away all the giant muscles and height you realize that Jotaro is surprisingly written as his age, since of course a teenager in that kind of household would turn to his peers for validation, and would get that validation by being a bad boy since he knows he isn't going to have any real consequences. Plus we see that later in life he mellows out. He stays quiet because that's who he is but he isn't as mean because that's an act he put on.
Next think about the very first time we see him; in the jail cell. He's putting on his tough guy who doesn't give a shit act but he's also sacrificing his own freedom to protect people. It's wild to me that this is literally the FIRST thing he does since that's the entire thesis of his character. Throughout the entire series he will sacrifice anything to protect people. In part 3 he obviously risks his own life to protect his mother, but if we flash forward his LAST action in the story is that instead of killing Pucci he protects his daughter. He sacrificed EVERYTHING for this, but of course he would do this, a protector is who he is.
And in shonen like this where the author makes it up as they go this kinda character consistency is almost unheard of, usually it takes a bit for an author to really find the core of who their character is, especially when it's something like this that isn't in your face, but with Jotaro it's from page 1.
Oh and one more detail; to circle back to how Jotaro had a father who made lots of money but was never home. If that was someone's only paternal role model what kind of parent do you think they'd be? Well they would do what they felt was "best" for their family without actually spending time with them. And combine that with his protecting nature and he spends all his time neglecting his daughter BECAUSE he worries him being around will put her in danger. DO YOU SEE? DO YOU SEE HOW EVERYTHING CONNECTS? His characterization is so fucking strong and informed by his upbringing but it's never once waved in your face! His father's mentioned like once in the whole story but Araki kept it in mind the whole time!
And this is honestly just the surface. There's so many other little details that are just as consistent. Like his genuine love of aquatic life humanizing him as a person with interests, the pressure placed on him in having to tie up loose threads for decades from a traumatic event that happened to him when he was still a teen, autistic and sexuality headcanons. There's so many layers to this character that's trying his best to make the audience think he's a 1-dimensional badass punch man. It's truly incredible, especially considering the genre he's in.
Ironically enough, even if Araki didn't really think that deep when creating him (he is, after all, based off on Western or lone hero references), it is a SEVERE understatement on how good his character was subtly written, even if it could've been executed better and should've had more written to him.
How he comes off almost like a martyr for the safety of his loved ones. Because for a 17 year old boy, with a teenage rebelling attitude, to WILLINGLY sacrifice his freedom and self-isolate the second he views himself as a threat is indicative of how selfless his heart is.
And to solidify this character thesis, he does this AGAIN in adulthood. Because what did he do that made Jolyne resent him?
*DING DING DING* He voluntary isolates himself away from them the second he sees himself as a threat (even indirectly).
It's the way he's presenting himself as someone who looks like he shouldn't care, but deep down, he cares so much to the point of giving everything up for people he cares about (truly the fakest idgafer, an acts of service man indeed).
Because I can't imagine risking my life and dignity:
1.) To pull out a flesh bud from a stranger's (who tried to kill me) forehead
2.) Willingly put up with being humiliated and get treated like dirt so my grandpa doesn't get hurt no matter how annoying he can be
3.) Be living bait for a rat with supernatural powers so my mentee doesn't risk getting his flesh turned to goop
4.) Be a meat shield and diversion for a literal moving bomb
5.) Purposely sacrifice my personal happiness and loving relationship (via my wife and daughter) for their safety and well being
6.) Jump into a path of bullets to push my daughter out of harm's way and be willing to accept the risk of getting both my memories and Stand taken away
7.) Let the ENTIRE UNIVERSE burn without hesitation if it meant saving my daughter
And people will STILL- and I shit you not- STILL view him as a boring misogynistic asshole that doesn't care or feel anything or anyone, when he quite literally debunks two of those claims in the first TWO EPISODES of Part 3.
It's so crazy that his character idealogy is SHOWN ON SCREEN, but since majority of the audience just like see the surface and reduce Jotaro as just the "edgy aura farmer with no substance who does the punchy punchy" without the nuance, he becomes that much less of a protagonist.
And people will call him boring because he's not as loud and proud and "in your face" like Joseph or Jonathan.
(Y'all just have a huge bias for extroverts and it really shows how shallow and judgmental SOME of you can be towards introverted main characters🧍♀️And I'M TIRED)
I just finished the first half of stardust crusaders. I liked it enough (some moments straight out blew my mind lol), even if a bit less than Battle Tendency, as I feel like Araki hasn't quite nailed the "monster of the week" structure and the rhythm isn't quite the best. But more than that I'm sill a little bit unsure of Jotaro's character.
Of course, there are still 24 episodes left in this part, so plenty of time to give him an actual development now that his character has been established, but until now he was pretty... static.
I mean, bot Jonathan and Joseph faced a conflict and had to learn something in their parts. Jonathan's story was centered on his relationship-conflict with Dio (which ultimately mirrored the good ol' good vs evil, even more than with the other jojos since Jonathan and Dio are literally goodness and evil incarnate) and he had to learn how to be stronger in order to face him (without getting corrupted in the process! Even if this is maybe a bit more subtle). Joseph's was instead centered on his need to understand and uphold his family's legacy (a theme that was nicely mirrored in Caesar), and he had to learn just what the consequences of his (often self-centered or somewhat superficial) behavior were... And what was his own, personal, way to deal with both of these things. Forge his own path, if you will.
But with Jotaro... Just what is his main conflict? Yes, he has to save his mom, he has to bring an end (?) to the Joestar curse by defeating DIO, but more than a development of his character there was only a "discovering" (from the viewer pov) of it until now, showing that he's not just a tugh but more of a edgy kid who really wants to protect his loved ones even if he doesn't always show it. Which is a nice character set up, but I still don't understand where is character arc is meant to go, or if there is one to begin with. He's easily solved every challenged they faced until now, mostly with his fists, and while it would've been really cool if his arc had been about learning how to rely on others and show vulnerability, there was very little of that until now (a little bit in the Lovers episodes especially, but I feel like even that went a bjt nowhere). Even the refusal of the call he had at first was very quickly resolved. Just... What is the point of his character, you know?
I just want to make it clear that I am not making this post to hate on his character, on the contrary I like him a lot: a detective nerd who tries to look cool and has difficulties in social interaction... That basically me when I was his age lol. But I feel like there is something about him I haven't quite managed to grasp. I can easily imagine there is more to it, but I wondered what was other people's impression of his character up to this point.
(If anybody wants to answer please try to not make any spoilers about the second half of part 3, I've already accidentally gotten enough of them, lol)
One of the major gripes I've had with Araki's writing is the way he wrote my favorite Jojo
Because yes, while I do love my big grumpy man, his character is underwhelming or underdeveloped (but it is there! Even a little of it). I think it's mostly because Jotaro was meant to portray the "lone hero" archetype (as Araki mentioned combined with the Eastwood reference). In canon, I think he's mostly supposed to be a static character and that's not entirely a bad thing.
But execution matters.
I think the manga fixes a minor issue I had with the anime, which is his expressiveness, but the overall writing still could be worked on.
And you're right, an interesting character arc for him would be him learning to reach out to others instead of staying hyper-independent. A core trait of his is that he values the people he chooses to be with, but that feels inaccurate (to others) because his core flaw is being unable to communicate with them properly.
And I mean this in the nicest way possible: Make my mans pathetic. I don't care if the dudebros, incels, preachers of toxic masculinity come for my ass, give Jotaro moments of actual weakness or vulnerability. Have him actually struggle with wanting help versus rawdogging life solo.
As a resident Jotaro lover and fic writer myself, I clocked in what little bits of information about him I could get from the series and gravitated towards those pieces to expand them into my headcanons (e.g. incorporating lingering trauma into his arc, him displaying more acts of service to people he grows closer with, how he would be as a young father to Jolyne, what type of boyfriend/husband would he be that isn't watered down to just being "grumpy," "apathetic," or "stoic" etc.)
Like you said, there's a lot from him that can be expanded on and it's really a bummer Araki didn't choose to further flesh out Jotaro when he's basically the most prominent Jojo and the face of the series, but the fandom doesn't even see him as the "main character.
I remember a post on twitter about what percentage was higher in the Jojos who were mixed or half-half. And it sparked somewhat of a debate (?)
And my take is that:
Jotaro is Wasian (More Caucasian features)
Josuke is wAsian (More Asian features)
Giorno is a wasian (Good blend of both)
Now hear me out on why I agree on these takes.
You know how some body features are locked until you hit a certain age (*cough* puberty *cough*)? I believe that was Jotaro's case.
In Holly's flashbacks, he lived a pretty normal Japanese kid life, and that was perhaps Sadao's genes being more dominant during his childhood. His face still had baby fat, plus his height and build were pretty standard for a Japanese kid.
But when puberty hit him, the Joestar genes were unlocked, and then out of nowhere, Jotaro's frame got broader, his height skyrocketed, and his voice went down at an all time low.
Essentially, his "white features" became more prominent, which could have lead him to more xenophobic bullying from peers, that would eventually turn him into the grumpy delinquent we see in Part 3.
But you could tell he was still half-Asian because in the Steely Dan episode, he was hit by a racist remark something along the lines of "go back to Asia, your kind don't belong here." And you know the trademark feature racists would usually use for East Asian people?
Eye shape.
Despite looking more Caucasian, Jotaro still had Sadao's eye shape and hair. Everything else is Holly's genes. That's why one could tell he was still half-Asian.
For Josuke's case, I'd say he has more Asian features than Caucasian. Why? Because based on what we see in Part 4, Josuke lived a pretty chill life from childhood to teenagehoood (except the whole time he got the Stand fever, but that's not the point).
He might not have even been bullied when he hit puberty because of that. I say that because Josuke didn't even seem to be a genuine delinquent (even from a facade standpoint like Jotaro). No rebellious or punkish attitudes from him at all.
He was generally a good kid with a heart of gold, polite, who liked doing ordinary, dumb, and goofy teenage things with Okuyasu and Koichi.
I don't think he got bullied for being a "haffu" because his traits were more Asian passing. Tomoko's genes carried harder than Joseph's.
Also apparently, sons tend to inherit more genes from their mothers than they do from their fathers 👄? Seems legit when we consider that Holly is a Caucasian woman, and Tomoko is an Asian woman.
I don't know much about Giorno though. But I've seen a recent post that he got bullied and got called a slur for looking Asian, and it makes sense, since his mother is Japanese.
Also not sure if it's just anime-logic, but I've never heard of a brunette naturally becoming a blonde as one gets older. Only the other way around.
Giorno really said "nah" and defied science to have his vampire dad's long golden ass hair.
Heyyyy 🤸♀️ Guess who's back from the dead ♡ No but in all seriousness, here I am with my first short fic of 2026 in celebration of Joot doot's birthday season 🎉. Currently working on Polaris' new chapter, but i figured a little writing practice won't hurt.
For context of this fic: This takes place in the same setting between my other fics "Sweet Night" and "Gifts for You." Content involves some good ole hurt/comfort. Both fics can be found in my pinned Masterlist!
Hope you enjoy ♡

You already knew Jotaro Kujo’s feelings towards his birthday was complicated. Saying he hated it wouldn’t be a lie either.
It wasn’t much of him disliking him being born, but more so that the day he was born just so happened a few weeks after majority of his friends had died from their dangerous trip to Cairo. You couldn’t blame the guy not being ecstatic over “his day” when all he could be feeling is survivor’s guilt.
But you weren’t one to miss out on important moments of life, nor allow your boyfriend to drown in the dark, tied to being guilty for having to exist when other people who deserved to live no longer did.
His 18th birthday was a tough experience for him as you’d expected.
Even if he wasn’t one for loud and big birthdays, preferring the more quiet and small gathering type, the way he had celebrated that day of his life was different: Locked in his room, his arm in a cast and sling, his jaded face adorned with fading bruises, never getting up from his futon, refusing to face the world where he had to meet his kind mother, who despite his shit behavior to her, still saw him as her beloved son who deserved a happy birthday (which he no longer thought he deserved).
You had visited him that day. Holly warmly welcomed you inside, and so did Jotaro once you knocked the door to his room.
There weren’t any unnecessary dialogue of sympathy or any of the empty words that would imply pity. Within the four corners of his room, you were there for Jotaro- sitting with your shoulders touching, his head resting heavy on your shoulders as you held him close.
A comfortable silence.
You had brought small presents you knew he liked and he was… grateful for the gesture. After he brought up the others, you threaded lightly and mentioned how they would’ve loved celebrating their resident grump’s birthday, and he could only offer the smallest of smiles at the thought.
Then there was the mini cake you had bought for him, with a candle he blew out with a wish you hoped was peace with himself. And then the cake Holly prepared and brought in. Both of you made sure to not make her efforts weren’t in vain.
It had been a few years since then. Jotaro was no longer 18, nor your boyfriend anymore, but an adult in his late 20s and your fiance.
His birthdays weren’t as heavy as the 18th or the few years that followed, but it would be a lie to say that it wasn’t a sore to bring up, because even up to now, he didn’t feel special. A shadowed part of his mind still convincing him that he didn’t deserve to celebrate.
Only difference between then and now was that he didn’t hole himself in bedrooms and stay locked out from everything. He opted to drown in work, keeping himself busy to think about anything else. Because from all the years of sleeping together with him, you never missed any of those nights where sleep was hard and the light absent in his usually sharp eyes.
He couldn’t fully move past what had happened. That all of that danger occurred near his month.
Every birthday ever since his 18th was celebrated quietly at his request. No gathering of friends or other family members. No chanting of “happy birthdays.” No flashy presents. All Jotaro had wanted those days were… you. Your presence that had always been his sanctuary was enough for his day to be acknowledged in the midst of hectic work schedules.
Eating home cooked meals with you made his heart lighter. Listen to music kept the air peaceful. Cuddling grounded him to the reality of your warmth. That you’re alive and breathing. That he never lost the light of his life.
You respected his boundaries since then and your relationship remained stable regardless.
However, for his 28th birthday, you wanted to push the boundary a little. Make it a little bit more special, considering you had been in a heated argument with your fiance for the past week, completely forgetting that the day that would follow would be his birthday.
You felt like shit and you wanted to make it up to him without making it excessive.
So you took the day-off and immediately went to work with the home preparations. You spent hours mastering his favorite home meals Holly used to cook for him, made sure to make the cake yourself with the flavor he liked, and prepared his favorite slow music to ease him further.
Once everything was in order, you got yourself ready in a cozy oversized cardigan and a warm, welcoming smile. You readied both the cake and the match to light the candle with, and once you heard him arrive later that day, you closed the lights and lit the birthday cake.
You waited by the door, cake in front of you, and stood patiently as the familiar jingle of keys could be heard past the entrance door.
The door opened and you began to softly chant “happy birthday” as you approached him, a loving smile on your face.
Once you’ve finished and now stood before him, he stayed silent. His hat always did the most to obscure his face away from your observant eyes.
A flicker of anxiety sparked in the back of your head. You switched the lights on. ‘Did I cross a boundary? Was the chant necessary? Did I make him more upset?’ An apology was about to slip past your lips but you looked at him fully one more time, and your heart tightened in your chest.
Jotaro looked away from you, body stiffened, his lips pressed tight, his breaths shaky and uneven, hands trembling from where he carried a small paper bag from your favorite dessert shop. Your eyes softened and a sigh left your lips. He was usually the first to feel bad after an argument.
You cupped his face, thumbing his cheek out of habit.
“I…” He said, strained. “I… I’m sorry… you had to do this.”
“Jotaro…”
“You shouldn’t have done this. It’s… not important to me. You know that,” he muttered despondently even as he leaned towards your hand. “There are other things that matter more than the day I was-”
“But it is to me,” you said, abruptly stopping him. “No matter how much you think your birthdays feel insignificant, there’s always going to be someone who’ll have to remind you that they’re all special.”
You set the cake down, followed by putting the paper bag aside, so your hands could hold his. Warm and solid. Slightly calloused. You never broke eye contact with him, a steely resolve in your gaze that made him gaze back. “And you know why? Because it’s that time of the year where I’m reminded that my guiding star exists. That you stayed and you’re here with me, loving me even when your words fail you.”
“That I still get the chance to remind you that my Starlight is loved for another year.”
Jotaro didn’t respond, but he didn’t have to when his body did it for him as it always does. He took a step forward and leaned forward ever so slightly and you met him halfway with a hug. He buried his face on your shoulder and his arms found themselves loosely wrapped around your waist.
You smiled as you heard his hat fall from his head, hitting the floor with a faint thud. “You dropped something.” You brushed through his dark curls.
“It’s not important,” he said with muffled words.
“Your hat? Not important?” You teased him in an attempt to lighten the mood. “I find that hard to believe.”
“I don’t care.” He pulled back enough for him to remind hunched over, his forehead against yours, enough for you to see the pinpricks of tears in the corners of his eyes now that the hat’s visor was gone. “It’s not that special compared to this.”
You hummed as you wiped his eyes with both thumbs, before leaning forward to plant a chaste kiss on his lips. Once you pulled away, he looked away shyly with a quiet grumble and pink cheeks. “You’ve always been so damn stubborn.”
“Isn’t that a good a thing?”
The corners of his lips quirked as Jotaro let out a light chuckle. “In certain specific instances, yes.”
With the mood alleviated, you reached for the cake and lit the candle again before bringing it close to his face. “Make a wish, love.” Jotaro did with closed eyes and after taking a deep breath, he blew. He opened his eyes and took the cake away from your hand, before returning the kiss you gave a few minutes ago.
“We have two cakes again for my birthday.” You tilted your head in confusion. He passed your cake back to you and reached down to pick up the paper bag and brought out a mocha-flavored cake, wrapped neatly in a pastel box. “I bought the cake this time… meanwhile you made one.”
This time, you laughed behind your hand. “Just like your 18th.”
He stared at you with a deadpan. “I got it to apologize to you. It’s not for me.”
“It’s still two cakes regardless. One bought. One made. It still counts.” With one dessert in his hand, and the other in yours, you gently took his free hand and led him to the dining table, where the dishes waited for them. “Let’s get to eating before the food grows cold.”
He nodded and let you lead him back inside the comforts of home.
IT'S STILL GOING. I saw a post on the twt with the whole "Jotaro is a misogynist" allegations
I genuinely don't get why people are convinced that he has to be a misogynist and make it part of his character, and then provide the same fucking evidence time and time again to back their claim, when actually watching the show and a quick Google search will tell you otherwise 🤠
"oH hE cALLeD hIS mOM A biTcH"
Okay, but does he BELIEVE in that statement? Or is he just being a brooding teenager putting up a tough boy act, but gets embarrassed when his mom coddles him in public, so he barks at his mother to stop embarrassing him with stupid, emotionally stunted teenager mentality?
The translation's not even that accurate. He closely calls Holly "old hag" which, while still rude, sounds awfully similar to when Jolyne calls Jotaro "old man."
But it's also important to remember (and I gently hold your hands while I say this): His rudeness is inclusive to ALL genders.
Yes, he is rude to women... but he also cusses and punches the living shit out of men who get on his nerves and provoke him. You see him be rude as fuck to Joseph, Avdol, and Polnareff. You also see him be very respectful to Suzie Q. Why are yall just cherry-picking that away and say "oh only women 🤡✌️"
"bUT hE's a MIsoGyNisT aSs As a TeEn tHat gROws OUt oF iT 🥺"
Did yall watch literally the second episode of Part 3 with your eyes closed and ears shut? (Or did yall wear rose tinted glasses and just saw two dudes, Jotaro getting bound, and immediately think "they fuck 🤤🍆🍆" to care about anything else)
In that same episode, he not only:
1.) Listens to what the FEMALE nurse wants him to do and is willing to let her patch him (you know... because it's her JOB as a NURSE, not because she's a woman)
2.) Had a WHOLE SPEECH saying while he is a rude asshole, he is a rude asshole with enough integrity to know what's good and evil, and then proceeds to EMPHASIZE the part when people are evil when they take advantage of others... "especially if it's an innocent woman"
Which should completely derail yall misogynist claims because one characteristic of these breed of men is that they TAKE ADVANTAGE of women because these men see them as inferior. And we see Jotaro's heavily against that.
So why-

People so tunnel visioned that they forget the definition of "status quo" and "world building." Let me remind you:
1.) News Flash: Part 4 isn't in America (very important to note). Or the West. It's set in Japan. You know... a country that is very much still traditional and heavily patriarchal with expected gender norms society still largely follows
2.) Kira is Japanese. Born in Japan. With Japanese parents.
3.) Jotaro is logical. A deductive thinker. Which means he could be using status quo to put two and two together and make a conclusion. Does he necessarily believe in that?? There is no factual evidence that he does (but what is factual that his deduction was right and Kira WAS there). You all just take surface level speech and go ball with your asinine takes.
Again... It's okay to headcanon him as gay. That's totally fine. I support that with all of my heart.
But don't pair up being gay with being misogynistic as a character trait for "the sake of validating your yaoi", because that's saying something else, and makes other well-hearted queers look bad.
Replying to a commenter also made me upset not only for Jotaro's characterization, but for Holly's as well.
Because I realized while people are here having fun making him a "woman hater," they're also belittling Holly in the process (which further fuels the "projecting my misogynist ass onto my favorite character" theory).
Why is the most popular answer to the question "why did Jotaro suddenly become this rude delinquent," is:
"Because Holly is just seeing her baby with rose tinted glasses"
And that somehow really irks me in a way I cannot explain. It's like saying Holly is too naive or complacent just because she's a bubbly and optimistic pacifist.
But you can see how through her raising him, outside of him being a brooding teenager, he's well-adjusted (as he could be with his circumstances): He was raised as a good kid who did great in school, who liked to read books, that later on grew up to have the highest academic honor with a scientific career.
Not counting him as a teenager (because teens will act and behave irrationally), he's mostly well-mannered as a kid and as an adult.
That's a testament of how well Holly raised her child. Being tolerant of bad behavior and allowing herself to be mistreated, doesn't get him to become that type of person we see on screen.
If we had someone to thank for letting him know his morals (*cough* episode 2 *cough*), it's Holly, and I don't appreciate people subtly downplaying Mrs. Kujo as just "the ditzy sunshine character who blindly loves her son."
Mental of Pt3/Pt6 Joot’s hanging out while Pt4/Pt5 duke it out for whose clothes look shitter
⭐️🍫 okay so if we're talking shitty Joot clothes then i have an Opinion™
and i do not currently have the energy to be nice about my Opinion™ - so fair warning: what i say next may upset some people -
(unfiltered jotaro outfit hot take(?) + roast below)
neither pt4 or pt5 are winning because pt6 clears shittiest jotaro outfit hands down
those snakeskin boot pants are iconic in all the wrong ways
his outfit palette is all the crayons my kid self would combine to color something deliberately ugly
the outfit's choices feel so uncharacteristically non-jotaro that it perfectly embodies the mid-life crisis i imagine he was experiencing shortly before part 6
and it can't even commit to being camp because the top half screams "pretentious heteronormative basketball celebrity" - like - what were you trying to accomplish 6taro???
pt5 is second shittiest but (for the anime version) this is primarily due to the belt colors clashing with the rest of the outfit palette - at least the manta-themed coat is kinda iconic (if they got rid of the belts or made them the same colors as other parts of his outfit - it would've worked a lot better)
While "shittiest" is a strong word, I kinda have to agree with you. Design-wise AND theme-wise.
3taro's outfit is iconic because really, it's just his school uniform but revamped, showing off that he is a 17 year old delinquent who can pull off a cool, bad boy front. Black being the main color of his coat fits in with his whole thing being a teenager looking like a typical bad ass.
4taro (and by extension 5taro to an extent) is a personal favorite just because his outfit is meant to look more "professional." I like to think his white coat is meant to appear like lab coats you'd see on scientists or researchers (which fits him since he works as a biologist). His color palette gives sleek, clean, and well put together.
But 6taro is where I'm like... what was this giving? I don't know if this is true, but someone said the coat was supposed to be black or dark grey, and the purple came from the unofficial manga colors, and David Productions just said "Ah fuck it."
Even then, the snakeskin pants was random. The coat I'll let it slide because, I do think it looks cool with the whole gold accents and anchor chain (Part of me thinks his coat was supposed to be a callback to his Part 3 fit hence the og black coat theory).
His top is... less of a choice, but would be better if it was designed as something else rather than just stamping a large star on it.
But...
The pants. The. Pants. Is not giving. I'm sorry but Araki what were you thinking- 😭
Now everyone is making the Florida Man deadbeat memes because of this. What the hell ☠️.

If it's fine to got into angst territory here do you think Jotaro has cried like full on tears cry at least one point cause I keep on thinking about Jotaro’s life from SDC to now and what he has been through and the trauma along with seeing many people from friends and allies die and probably more off screen throughout the years then Jotaro can't even have a normal family too and have to be neglectful to his wife and daughter and still have to put on a tough front everyday and every adventure. I just know he is just tired.
Do not worry for I, too, am all for the angst. And yes, even for a man that's widely known to be stoic and composed-
He does cry.
But not in your typical "bawling his eyes out" or even the usual sobbing we all usually do when we cry.
I often think his version is the type where he simply either sits alone in his place, or lies down on his bed with no one with him, and the tears just start leaking out his eyes and down his cheeks from how lonely his life turned out to be.
Because at the end of the day, he's still a human with human feelings.
He loves his family. But the cost of being with them is risking their safety and exposing them to the danger of Stands.
And maybe that's why, in my headcanon at least, is that he often overworks himself to the bone just so he doesn't have to think about how shit his circumstances become after Cairo.
When he's doing his work, either in research or investigation, he doesn't have to think about how his personal life has become non-existent. Doesn't have to think about how his marriage is failing, and the child he cherishes deeply is gradually resenting him day after day.
He had his moment of selfishness: Finding someone he loves so soon, having a child with her, probably even spending time with his daughter in her infancy and toddler years.
Until the remnants of DIO's legacy comes back to remind him the cost of having a normal life- His dead allies. A brief flashback of the knife lodged in his grandfather's throat. His mother nearly dying.
And now he becomes selfless. And utterly lonely.
Because the only people he loves more than anything else has grown to despise him due to him choosing to be absent for their safety.
And he accepts his fate. He resigns to it.
If his isolation and suffering means they get to live better lives, then so be it.
He'd burden himself with days and days of travel, sleepless nights of doing research articles and going over Stand cases, get targeted and injured time and time again. If all that misery equates to Holly getting to smile brightly another day, for his ex-wife to no longer worry about danger and have her freedom, for Jolyne to grow up like a normal teenager.
Then he'd sacrifice his happiness for theirs.
And that's something worth mourning and shedding tears for, even privately and silently. Like he always was.
How to you feel about when some people get defensive when people point out the similarities between Jotaro and Jolyne even though it's right there. Nothing too big of a drama just wanna talk about it. Cause it's not like saying Jolyne is the "female Jotaro" which I get why people would get upset at that cause Jolyne is way more than that but people can bring up the similarities between Joseph and Josuke, Giorno and Dio but it gets sensitive with Jotaro and Jolyne. 🩷🩵
Personally, I don't mind the father-daughter comparisons
If anything, doing these parent-child analysis stuff helps give us insights of how the kids' personalities came to be- by studying their exposure to the parent themselves combined with the environment and circumstances they're raised in.
Highlighting the similarities between the father-daughter duo is just one of those character studies I find interesting (for me at least).
I think it gets really touchy because it's the difference of genders (father-daughter in contrast to the others being father-sons). Women tend to get overshadowed in Shonen series, and when Jolyne gets put in the protagonist role in competition to her own father (the most iconic Jojo), of course the fandom will definitely defend her importance as her own character.
Although, the thing is for me: Jolyne is a very distinct character from Jotaro, to the point their similarities are surface leveled. I am confused what similarities they have that's not "oh they have Stands that punch fast", "they have similar yare yare's", and they have the Joestar virtues.
To make my point more understandable , let's think of them as elements.
Jotaro is an abundance of water solidified into ice: He's a passive character that reacts more than acts. Has a temper that dwindles with age. A guy who just wants a break and a moment of peace. Someone who'd choose a mundane life over the supernatural one if he was given the choice. A flowing and soothing center of care and love, but has frozen into a jagged, icy shell that's cold and impenetrable to others (and numb to himself), due to his circumstances.
His defining personality is being stoic and analytical, family-centered (as in his family is his main priority above all else), and having a strong integrity. Introverted 100%.
The Star who indirectly gives hope to others when he himself is hopeless.
On the other hand, Jolyne is persistent embers that would eventually spark into a fire of unwavering determination. She acts and initiates, is confrontational, and unafraid of expressing her wants and emotions. While Jotaro's rebellious youth was partly performative, Jolyne's wasn't. She did become a delinquent. She did get a theft record.
Most importantly, she cares fiercely. Enough for her to still gain close friends she spends so much time with despite being in prison. Enough to save the father she thought she despised with every fiber of her being (and even more so to still have that buried hope of rekindling the familial love she had with her dad).
A wildflower blooming amidst the chaos.
She isn't a "female Jotaro." She's very far from it.
But it's very fascinating to see posts about them being compared, seeing what little mannerisms and gimmicks she unconsciously inherited from her father.
It's also neat to find parallels between the two, especially the fact that both of them share the intense love for family:
☆ Jotaro saves his mother by traveling lands and fighting enemies for her, even if it meant sacrificing his happiness by shouldering the bloodline's curse in the long run.
¤ Jolyne saves her father by willingly going back into prison after being freed just to get his discs back, even if it meant getting injured and killed in the process.
I just love them both so much. My Shaylas 😭. I just want them to be happy damnit!
I want to know since originally Anne was supposed to be apart of the Stardust Crusaders and have her own stand (As far as what I hear.) You think if Anne stayed it would've shown a more softer Jotaro cause he was soft in his own way with Anne with the scenes we got and honestly I personally think he would. Anne would've shown a different side to Jotaro and how he is with kids. Just wanna know your thoughts on it 🩷🩵
Oh 100%
We would've gotten not only a softer side to Jotaro, we would've also gotten an unexpected brother-sister dynamic between the two.
The Joot we see in the show doesn't really get the chance to show any kind of "softness" since:
1.) He's in a group of grown men with Stands (and in ye olden days of the 80s, masculinity wasn't exactly soft)
2.) He's constantly fighting enemies. Not really the time to be soft.
3.) He's a teenager already putting up a "tough guy" facade. Being soft isn't exactly part of the act.
In order for the dude to put away his mask, someone different has to trigger certain protective instincts in him. And Anne fits the shoe well: She's a child that's also a little girl (in an environment filled with predominantly big men).
It's basically the "Grumpy Dad and Sassy Daughter" dynamic, but make it "Grumpy Big Bro and his Sassy Little Sister"
Having Anne as a member of the team would've added more character texture to Jotaro, proving that he's not only the no-nonsense, can kick your ass type of guy, he's can also be patient and protective with the right people.
We could've gotten Anne just wandering about, exploring the new areas being excited, probably even training how to use her Stand, and him just watching nearby being her silent guardian, making sure she doesn't hurt herself.
I also find it endearing that Anne gravitates to Jotaro more than the others. Because she could've been close to someone fun like Joseph or Polnareff, or maybe someone polite like Kakyoin or Avdol.
But nope, she just hangs out with the resident grouch instead. (Girlie's like me forreal because I, too, would find the satisfaction seeing the supposed "I don't care" guy become attentive and protective over you specifically). But then again, she's also crushing. Poor girlie.
His "acts of service" love language (platonically) would REALLY be highlighted as well. He doesn't say much, but he'd pretty much tolerate whatever she wanted to do with him:
She wants to buy that snack? He buys it.
She wants to ride that cable car? He'll be on board with her.
She's tired from walking? He rolls his eyes, says "good grief", and puts her on his shoulders before they continue traveling.
Anyways, missed character development opportunity for grumpy boy Jotaro from Araki's part.
But at the same time, knowing Japan, at least Anne was spared from the potential creepy NSFW content. Because we already had the creepy ape spying on her while she took a bath.
Could you imagine if she was a permanent member of the team? With even more potential predators in the journey? I can't because that'd be too much 👺
Because he literally embodies the "don't judge a book by it's cover."
Okay to make up with my hiatus, I'm just gonna share some funny little thought I've had from the back of mind for some time now.
And it's all because of that one Tumblr post about what perfume scent that each Jojo would have.
I get to Jotaro's part and I see "smells like musk (as in ordinary body odor) and tobacco (as in cigarettes)" All I could think of at that moment was...
"Would he actually like that scent on him?"
Because literally everything about him on the outside is wholly different from him on the inside. Most of his interests and hobbies juxtapose what he's putting up for others to see. While totally valid, it's amusing to see people assign headcanons purely based on his Part 3 aesthetics, when his likes could be the other way around.
Think about it! His exterior and interior contradict each other.
This what we mean by "he's putting up a convincing mask of indifference."
He's supposed to portray the idea of a "delinquent" and yes, while he does execute it well through his appearance and mannerisms (the smoking, the beer drinking, the rebellious moments against shitty adults), he doesn't actually live out to being an actual delinquent.
Delinquents don't care about their grades. They seek out groups and gang together to do crime-adjacent acts. They don't give a damn about the consequences of doing bad deeds for as long as they enjoy the thrill of it. They care more about serving themselves and their gang first than anyone else.
He doesn't.
His delinquency is just an effective facade compared to the actual thing:
He's academically inclined as we can imply because he later becomes a STEM student, pursues a career in Science, and even proceeds to earn the highest academic accolade one could get which is his PhD
In relation to that, the fact that it's implied he prefers to read books during his spare time so often to the point that he sucks at playing video games is quite telling to him being a nerd.
He does care about those around him: His family, friends, and allies. So while behaves the way he behaves, it's all bark and no bite. He puts others first than himself, even if it's through grouchy clipped words and eye-rolls. Think of all the times he used himself as a meat shield to protect his allies.
The type where he claims he "doesn't give a fuck" but the scene pauses and a Narrator speaks to the audience that "he did, in fact, gave too many fucks."
It's important to know that it's one thing to yell at his mother to stop coddling him (but still craves her love and affection), it's another to actually think his mother is a nuisance waste of space [I'm looking at you misogynist fuckers].
Like I said before: Most of his interests are so different from the expectations of others. Whatever you thought he liked? Toss all that out and think like it's opposite day.
Favorite movie? It's not a detective film, not a Clint Eastwood film. It's a nature docudrama about wolves.
2. Favorite genre of music? It's not punk rock or metal. It's R&B and soul music. (His favorite singer is Toshinobu Kubota, known to craft love songs of the aforementioned genres, so it's implied he likes listening to love songs)
3. Favorite color? It's not black or anything dark. It's "transparent" (which thanks to another Tumblr user, is Japanese terminology referring to colors that's fresh, pastel-adjacent, and visually crystalline)
4. We don't actually see him drink alcohol that much in the show. Other than the episode we are introduced to him, he's seen drinking coffee or tea more, so we can imply he'd rather consume caffeine than alcohol.
And stepping outside the delinquent subject, those who think he's disorganized or would be terrible with kids?
Look at is office and how organized, well-furnished, and almost chic it is, combining modern aesthetics with his profession.
You headcanon him as neurodivergent? Well then as a neurodivergent person myself, he'd have no problem with being domestic: It's routine, it's simple, it's straightforward. Shit, I'd be grumpy and numb myself if I were to just be tossed in an endless amount of Stand investigations too if I were him.
Look how he behaves around children: In Part 3, he unconsciously steps in like grumpy yet patient big brother (e.g. Anne, the kid with the popsicle, the kids in India). In Part 4, he's essentially the mentor-father figure to Josuke, Okuyasu, and Koichi.
So would it really be a stretch to headcanon that Jotaro would actually be a good father to his own daughter if his circumstances weren't cruel to him?
Sure, he's not Jonathan golden retriever levels of dad energy, or Joseph's fun dad vibes, but he's definitely the "papa wolf" type of father- helps with her homework, reads to her, go out and explore the world with her, basically spend his free time with her doing whatever she wanted. Just incredibly devoted to seeing his little girl happy despite his stoicism and emotional reservations.
Like, let's think outside the brainrotted memes for a hot minute and actually consider that he's not quite the violent delinquent or sexist deadbeat most of you like to throw at him as for shits and giggles.
