-do some self-therapy!!! figure out where this medical trauma is coming from, for example maybe you had a health scare or you had a bad experience with a doctor!! figuring out the origin of this trauma can help patients personalize the following tips!!! :) 

-going along with the previous tip, figure out what situations and circumstances trigger you!!! as patients with medical trauma oftentimes present with ptsd/ptsd reminiscent symptoms, triggers are super big!! these can be anything from actual medical visits to simply maybe a scent you associate with hospitals

-continuing on, try to ‘pavlov’ a fear of those triggers and medical situations overall!! this’ll help build those neural pathways that associate these things with fear/pain/etc!!

-a common experience in patients with medical trauma are nightmares!!! the previous tips will help build up to this point, but try spooking yourself before falling asleep!!! read/watch medical horror stories, and really connect yourself to those stories!!! imagine its YOU!!! really try to build that fear and horror!!

-try to force yourself to ‘spiral’!!! most people often have anxiety or fears about medical situations, but really try to amp up that fear reaction!!! when you start worrying, tell yourself; ”yes, and what if–”. just really let yourself dig yourself deeper into that fear and worry!!!

-really try to avoid anything medical if you can!!! most patients experience an avoidance of both medical situations and things that could get them into those situations. the previous tips should've helped build that aversion!!! :)
