"Prowl," Soundwave greeted. He didn't bother to look up from the datapad in his servos, pulling up Prowl's information, but he lifted one in a short wave. "Status? Anything new?" -@silentsonicwaves
“I finished the assigned chapters 6-10 and integrated them properly into my databanks.” Prowl responded, promptly, but blue optics regarded Soundwave, and doors flicked in a curious motion. “There is no more coursework or scheduled downloads for two orns. You are not a standard Enforcer frame model.” he added. “Your function?”
@silentsonicwaves
Soundwave looked up at the question, stopping in the middle of his data entry. It wasn’t anything new, per se, but it was not often that any of the cadets were interested in speaking to the datamech.
“I am not,” Soundwave said shortly. He tried not to be irritated as he answered the question, voice flat. “My function is data collection and sorting paired with communications.”
Prowl immediately took a half pace back, doors dipping in instinctive apology, compliance and submission offered in every line of his frame. He was, after all, only a cadet. He had no place questioning those senior to him, with fully determined functions and ranking.
*Still*….
After a moment of flicking doors, blue optics peeked back up at Soundwave in uncertain curiousity. “My apologies. I- My social coding keeps being set as low priority, after my learning and law enforcement programming.” he offered, awkward. “It is pleasant to officially meet you, Soundwave.”
Soundwave didn’t hold it against him. He’d met worse- much worse- than a cadet who asked questions that Soundwave didn’t like.
Seeing the cadet’s submission, Soundwave informed Prowl, “No apologies needed. You should not have to worry about offending any mech with such a basic question.” He paused, considering, then said, “It’s nice to meet you as well, Cadet Prowl.”
