It’s around that time of year when kids start getting letters of being waitlisted, rejection and deferment. Just wanted to say hang in there– not everyone’s collegiate path is a strict linear progression. Taking gap years, transferring, going to your ‘B’or ‘C’ school, etc– they’re all completely valid ways to self-discovery and getting to where you want to be. From my own experience, things have a way of working out in the weirdest ways. Just keep your head up & mind open and don’t give up.

A new Indian app allows women to crowdsource the safest route home.

Every 22 minutes, a woman in India is raped. But two engineers, with the help of the charity Jagori, are trying to change that with their new mobile app, Safetipin, which crowdsources the safest routes in any given city. So, how does it work? Think of it like Waze, but for avoiding sexual assault.

Unfortunately, the map is accurate. And it’s especially problematic for millennial women, who are much more likely to have a bachelor’s degree or higher than millennial men, but who are consistently earning less living and living in poverty more.

Movie idea: a transgender girl gets kicked out of her home. She meets a group of girls on the street including a hardcore butch lesbian, a flirty bisexual, a smart pansexual, and a quiet ace. Together these girls use money, resources, and whatever they can find to create a homeless shelter for LGBTQ youth who are kicked out of their homes. when it comes to older bloggers, you have every right to feel uncomfortable and ask them to unfollow you & not interact with your posts, based on their age. it’s not discrimination, it’s not going to hurt anyones feelings - you deserve a safe space on the internet, especially on a blog where you express yourself. 

you don’t need to explain why an older person makes you uncomfortable or unsafe. and you don’t owe them an explanation in the first place. too many of us are forced to have uncomfortable interactions with familiar adults like family members, our parents friends, etc. you really do have a choice. especially here.
