who up perceiving and reacting to stimulus
unfortunate truth of reality is that oftentimes 15 year olds will say/do/believe some stupid bullshit because they are 15 but telling them that they believe that because they are 15 is probably the most counterproductive thing in the entire universe
i do think we need to detach hygiene from value as a person. as someone who has dealt with not being able to shower or brush my teeth due to depression and executive dysfunction, it usually is not a choice. sometimes there are situations in which you CANNOT care for yourself properly and that shouldnât mean you can now be stripped of your worth. physically disabled people who have trouble with hygiene i love you, mentally ill people who have trouble with hygiene i love you, neurodivergent people who struggle with hygiene i love you, people without access to adequate hygiene products i love you. itâs going to be ok
my message to white queers.
So the thing is boobs really do be jiggling. If having breasts has taught me anything it is that the ladies frolic. I don't even have that large of boobs but every time I go down some stairs all I can think about is that stupid quote about boobing breastily down the stairs or whatever it is because God Damn.
But anime and video game boob jiggling is like. The most uncanny valley shit I've ever seen nine times out of ten. You would think people this horny about tits would have actually looked at some but I guess not.
What we really need is some pervert to compile the ultimate visual guide to boob bouncing physics that's just like 500 hours of meticulously organized videos of breasts of different size and shape and under different fabrics bouncing around from a wide variety of physical movements so horny game devs can finally get it right and I don't have to be creeped out by women who appear to have surgically implanted softballs in their chest under skin made of rubber bands.
here's two articles about how JK Rowling just posted on X an upskirt photo of Freda Wallace, a transgender woman, after deadnaming her and misgendering her repeatedly online.
The wealthy author escalated a social media spat that resulted in posting a photo from a 2023 event at the Institute of Economic Affairs in
Rowling posted the picture taken from below because the trans woman, she said, was "refusing to debate me."
Thank you for posting without the fucking destiel meme
So in summation; Rowling demanded access to a womanâs time and when she couldnât get it she retaliated by posting an upskirt image of her and called her fat, and some of her fans even went âI think I can see her genitalsâ.
She literally went âdebate me! Debate me!â Over and over like the grifter she is and when she couldnât get what she wanted and when ânoâ wasnât enough she resorted to retaliatory sex-pestery, posting an image of somebodyâs body with intention to shame and embarrass and spawn more waspish tittering from her internet followers.
Rowling is trash and this is disgraceful behavior, in case anyone has forgotten.
She had also claimed Freda "deserved" this sexual harassment because of what she was wearing... You know... The same excuse used over and over to try and justify rape.
J K Rowling committed a sex crime against a trans woman (specifically, violating the Sexual Offences Act 2003)

It's freaky how the brain will just plasticly learn novel motor output interfaces on the fly. It's almost like instead of hard coding a control scheme for anatomy that changes every few million years the strat that brains went for was to be openly reconfigurable to fit around whatever its nerves seem to be hooked up to via observed feedback.
I think they've done tests on this by getting people to pilot novel bodies in VR. But you don't tend to notice it day to day until something weird happens like just now. I was reading a paper book and it had a line of text blacked out as if redacted. Instinctively I go to move my cursor over the black line to see if I can read any text if I highlight it.
Except it's a book and not my computer screen, so the cursor my brain thinks it's moving across my field of vision in front of me doesn't exist. At the same time, my right hand is making a bunch of small involuntary movements next to me. I didn't intend to move it and didn't even notice it was moving until I saw it with my eyes. What I intended to move was my Cursor, something that my brain had learned to understand that it has, and the way it moves this is by actuating the muscles in my right arm, an action that is entirely disconnected from any intent to move my arm, which is a different thing.
I love being a pattern atop this eldritch mess of neurons, it's great
father I cannot click the book
getting fixated on something is funny because the first like week i have an insatiable need to tell everyone i know about it and spread the good word but by weeks 2 and 3 it becomes so intense and personal that even hearing it mentioned in public makes me sweat as if a dark secret was alluded to
Too bad the prophet Cassandra never met Odysseus
They say if she made a prophecy Nobody would believe her
Iâve gotta say, that is exactly the kind of stupid thing that probably would circumvent a curse.
Cassandra: YOU ARE ALL GOING TO REGRET THIS SO MUCH YOU DONâT EVEN KNOW.Â
Odysseus: Regret it why?
Cassandra: You wonât believe me if I tell you. If I prophecy, nobody believes me. That is my curse.
Odysseus: ⌠Iâm Nobody. Fill me in.Â
*A couple of months later*Â
Odysseus: HELLO PENELOPE, I AM HERE PRECISELY ON TIME AND NOT YEARS LATE incidentally I rescued and adopted a Trojan seer while I was away, sheâs great, got me home really fast, Cassandra this is your new mother whoâs not going to treat you like shit.Â
Penelope: ⌠Iâm going to need more details, but okay, sure.Â
Cassandra: *in tears* I love you, new family.Â
Cassandra: Penelope, Iâve had another vision.
Penelope, sighs: Go tell your father.

"Women are warm and nurturing and they have powerful intuitions!" is benevolent sexism. Benevolent sexism upholds misogyny by praising women for things women are "supposed" to be good at and romanticizing roles women are "supposed" to play under a patriarchal system.
Also, like, benevolent sexist stereotypes are definitely used to make those who don't fit them feel like failures as women (especially queer women/trans women/woc/neurodivergent women/etc).
And on the flip side, they're also used to deny women who are skilled at those things credit for their accomplishments. It's easy for people to dismiss an excellent childcare worker when her "~magical gender intuition makes her naturally good at it~".
You are allowed to find things hot in theory while also never wanting to actually do them in real life btw. You can get off on whatever wild shit in your imagination and still prefer to be very vanilla in real life. Or not want to have sex at all in real life. You don't owe the universe anything in exchange for your dirty mind.
My stage career began when I was a little under two months old, when I took the spotlight as Baby Jesus in a Christmas pageant. Iâm told that I did a wonderful job and slept calmly through the whole thing, which can only speak to my talents as an actress, because I was 1. the wrong gender 2. a colicky screaming demon of a baby and 3. about as far from divine as itâs possible for an allegedly-human child to be.Â
I continued to be actively involved in theater as a kid (and frequently played roles of various small animals, because I was tiny for my age). Around the age of ten, I was cast as the lead character in a musical about cowboys that I no longer remember the name of. It was my first real lead role, and I took it very, very seriously. And because I am myself, that means I maaaaybe wentâŚa little overboard.
My characterâs introduction was early in the play, accompanied by the crack of a bullwhip. This was more-or-less pre internet (or, at least, our director was not tech-savvy enough to find sound effects online) and we didnât have a sound effect track for that noise. There were plans to acquire the appropriate sound effect before opening night, but I rapidly tired of making my entrance during rehearsals to the sound of someone yelling âBULLWHIP NOISE!â
This, I thought to myself, is a problem I can solve.
I learned early in life that itâs good to be friends with people who have skills; they always come in handy eventually. Â After rehearsals one day, I put on my cowboy boots and biked a couple miles over to my friend Graceâs house. I went down to their basement and knocked on her older brotherâs door.
âHello,â I said. âI need to learn how to use a bullwhip.â
ââŚ.Okay,â he said. It did not seem to occur to him that he might ask further questions about why I, a tiny horrible munchkin composed exclusively of rage and pointy elbows, needed to be weaponized any further. Clearly, I had come to the right person.
My friendâs older brother would have been an SCA nerd, if SCA was a thing where we were. Instead, he was one of those unsupervised 4H kids with weird hobbies, largely oriented around ancient forms of combat. He was somewhere in his late teens at this time, and he liked to make stuff. It was an urge I, even at age ten, could sympathize with. His name was Aron.Â
Aron got out his bullwhip (which I had noticed hanging on his wall on a prior visit, and had filed away mentally under a for future use tab) and we went to the backyard.Â
âStep one of using a bullwhip,â Aron began, âSwinging the bullwhip.âÂ
We rapidly discovered that since I was godâs tiniest, angriest creation, a full-size bullwhip was way too long for me to use. Aronâs shins suffered for my attempt.Â
ââŚStep one of using a bullwhip,â Aron said, âMaking a bullwhip.â
So we went back inside, found a tanned cowhide (that he justâŚhad? I donât remember if there was a reason for this.) and some razor blades, and I learned how to cut and braid a bullwhip. It took a few tries, and I wound up coming back for a while, because I kept getting frustrated with the bullwhip-braiding process and Aron kept distracting me with bait like: âHey kid, wanna learn to make some chainmail?â and âHey kid, wanna fletch some arrows?â and âHey kid, wanna try doing horseback archery?â
Obviously the answer to these questions was âBOY, WOULD I EVER!â Some delays are necessary to the artistic process.
(At one point my mom asked me âHellen, what are you doing over at Graceâs house all the time?â And I, perfectly innocent, said, âMaking weapons!â and my mother, who never understood why I was like this, but accepted that a girl has needs and those needs occasionally involve stocking a personal armory, said âOkay! Have fun!â)
Soon, the bullwhip, size extra small, was finished. The lessons on actual bullwhip use commenced.Â
It should be noted that Aron was self-taught, and really had no idea what to do, so this was mostly an exercise in the two of us standing twenty feet apart and flailing wildly with our respective whips until snapping noises happened. And then we figured out what weâd done to make the snapping noises. And then we kept doing that. Extremely vigorously. So vigorously that at one point one of the bullwhips launched into the air and caught on a tree branch and we hand to drag the trampoline over so Aron could bounce me high enough to grab it. But we persisted!
Eventually we reached a point where we could line up pop cans on a fence rail and hit them off three times out of five.
Feeling extremely accomplished and like I finally understood method acting, I packed my bullwhip into my backpack for the next play rehearsal. Soon enough, it was time for me to make my entrance.Â
I leaped on stage in my cowboy boots and cracked the bullwhip as hard as I could, immediately launching into the song despite the fact that the sound of five feet of braided leather breaking sound barrier had startled the accompanist so badly sheâd keysmashed on the piano.
The director shouted something she probably shouldnât have shouted in a room full of small children, and then demanded, âWHERE DID YOU GET THAT!â
âI made it!â I declared proudly. âIâm a cowgirl! I can make my own bullwhip noise!â
âYouâŚmade it?âÂ
âYes! Because we needed a bullwhip sound effect. And bullwhips are where bullwhip sound effects come from!â
This was, of course, impeccable logic.
It is apparently difficult to argue with a gleeful ten year old who happens to be armed with a bullwhip longer than she is tall. After some negotiation, the director agreed that I could use my bullwhip for my opening song, provided that I didnât pop it while anyone was anywhere near me on stage and I didnât let anyone else play with it. These terms were acceptable to me.Â
Somehow, no one was injured and the play went off without a hitch. We can only chalk up these things to the magic of the theatre.Â
Nearly a decade later, an unsuspecting college classmate asked me, âHellen, wanna take a class on bullwhip combat with me?â
And obviously I answered, âBOY, WOULD I EVER!â
ok but the way he's still kind of getting outcunted by the guy on the left
Me only scrolling down enough to see the first photo: they should fuck about it
Scrolling down further: oh they are fucking about it. Excellent!
Underused Ways to Show Two Characters Have History
Everyone writes: âWeâve known each other for years!"
But we can do better than thatâlet's make things actually interesting.
Here are some quick tips for writing two characters with history (without saying, "we've known each for years"):
⢠They reach for the same object at the same time without looking
⢠One of them uses a nickname no one else is allowed to use
⢠They start arguing mid-conversation like the first half already happened
⢠They move closer when the other looks uncomfortable
⢠One of them says, âDonât start,â before the other has said anything
⢠They know exactly which buttons to press (and press them immediately)
⢠They unconsciously drift toward each other in crowded spaces
⢠They anticipate each otherâs reactions before they happen
⢠One quietly moves something (a drink, weapon, chair) because they know the other will reach for it
⢠Someone might say something, and the other immediately responds with: âYouâre still doing that?â
⢠They suppress laughter at the same time over something no one else noticed
⢠One character still treats the other based on who they used to be
⢠A certain place, smell, or song causes them to exchange a look
⢠Their arguments sound rehearsed, like theyâve had them before
⢠They touch each other casually without asking (fixing clothing, nudging, taking something from their hand)
⢠They stand closer than strangers normally would
⢠They borrow items from each other
⢠They bring up something embarrassing from ten years ago
⢠They sit in silence together and itâs either very comfortable or extremely tense
⢠One of them automatically orders the otherâs drink
⢠They interrupt each other and still somehow finish the same sentence
⢠One starts a story and the other finishes it automatically
⢠They argue about the details of shared memories
⢠They mention people or events without explaining them
⢠A simple phrase or nickname triggers an entire inside joke
⢠They notice tiny things about each other no one else would catch
Real history sounds like unfinished conversations, old habits, and arguments that never really ended. When you show shared history (instead of telling) your characters seem that much more alive and believable.
On a similar note: Not all shared history is comfortable. Sometimes shared history means unresolved tension or an old rivalry:
⢠They refer to something only as âthatâ or âbefore.â
⢠Someone says âYou know why.â without explaining further
⢠Standing slightly farther apart than expected
⢠Fingers drumming or fidgeting when theyâre forced to talk
⢠Avoiding eye contact for just a second too long.
⢠A small disagreement suddenly becomes heated.
⢠One character reacts sharply to something that shouldnât matter anymore.
⢠A casual comment triggers silence or defensiveness.
⢠One character starts explaining themselves but trails off
⢠One character makes small, cutting remarks disguised as jokes
⢠They still know each otherâs preferences or weaknesses
⢠They speak in fragments when the past comes up
⢠They fall into familiar conversations and then awkwardly break them

Dialogue Prompts List #2
⢠"Something is wrong with me. Has been for a long time. I've gotten very good at hiding it in plain sight."
⢠"You want to know what fear really is? Fear is realizing the monster was someone you ate dinner with every night."
⢠"I know what darkness looks like from the inside. It doesn't look like anything. That's the point."
⢠"There are rooms in me I don't go into. I sealed them up for good reason. Don't go looking for the doors."
⢠"I've been smiling so long the muscles remember how even when nothing is funny."
⢠"Something happened in that house. Nobody talks about what happened in that house. I talk about it now. I talk about it because silence is how it survives."
⢠"The thing about real evil is it looks so normal. It sits across from you at breakfast and asks how you slept."
⢠"I'm not afraid of the dark. I'm afraid of what I think about in it."
⢠"You want the truth? The truth is ugly and small and doesn't make sense and that's exactly why it's true."
⢠"I kept the secret so long it became part of me. Now I don't know where I end and it begins."
⢠"Something broke in me a long time ago. I've just gotten very skilled at arranging the pieces so it doesn't show."
⢠"The worst things don't happen in the dark. They happen at noon in kitchens and living rooms while everyone pretends."
⢠"I'm not scared of dying. I'm scared of all the years before it."
⢠"There are things I remember that I've never said out loud. They live in me like something feral."
⢠"I know what I'm capable of. That's the part I don't share at parties."
⢠"You think you know what happened. You have the outline. Nobody has the inside."
⢠"I've been haunted for so long the haunting feels like company."
⢠"The thing nobody says about surviving is that sometimes survival looks a lot like damage."
⢠"I don't sleep well. Haven't for years. The nights got too loud for too long and my brain never forgot."
⢠"Some things don't heal. They scar over. And the scar is tough and ugly and it's mine and it's what got me here."
