Sometimes when I really hate the way I look, I go online and look up prices of plastic surgery. That gives me perspective on okay I don't hate it that much, I'm just gonna go give myself a haircut.
But also do you really want to look like someone who had plastic surgery?
Well it's a choice between that and looking like my mom.
I got lucky and ended up looking more like my dad.
I'd still be considering plastic surgery if I looked like my dad.
I don't know if this could help, but have you considered that some of the features you hate about yourself are loved by those you care about?
I am loved despite of my looks, personality, incoherent sentence structures and horrid cooking.
My sister was very self-conscious of how she looked until she had a daughter that looked just like her.

I already keep my hair dyed, but unfortunately my dad had dark hair - very dark brown - and my mom kept her hair in a range between blonde, red, and the same natural ash brown that I have, so I'm at somewhat of a loss on coming up with one that's reasonable to maintain and possible to achieve.

Unfortunately giving myself a buzzcut makes me so fucking upset about how ugly I am that my friends have told my boyfriend that they will hunt him down and end him if he ever lets me do that to myself again.

Henna is also nice! It’s long-lasting and gentle on your hair. You could maybe just do part of it, say from the roots halfway down or red highlights or something?
You said in a reblog that you work in visual arts, so I think there’s some real potential here for some wild hairstyles that you don’t have to upkeep because you just did like elaborate braids or Leia loops on a wig and then all you have to do most day is put it on your head.
If you’re willing to post a doodle of your general face shape, maybe we could crowdsource specifics, but I really like the braids that wrap all the way around the head on most people.
And/or tattoo on some eyeliner or something maybe? Test it with real makeup a couple times to see what style you like first but it could help and it’s a one-time deal
I think it should be worth noting that I am a man and I do present 100% masculine. The reason I can't just grow a beard to cover my face in order to not look like my mother is because she's better at growing beard hair than I am.
