Ragnarok stans have most likely adopted the “it’s because he’s been spending time on Earth” rationale because it’s the same lazy excuse Taika Waititi gave.

“Yeah, Thor spent two years on Earth hanging out with Robert Downey, Jr.  So he’s got some sass. He knows a little bit more about irony and sarcasm now.  He’s got a little bit of Earth humor. He’s like a rich kid from outer space that’s spent some time slumming it for a bit, you know?”

More discerning people understand that the real reason—just like with most things that were changed for Ragnarok—is because the more antiquated way of speaking didn’t appeal to Waititi personally. We know this because he said so himself.

“Here’s the thing about me guys, I did not really do my research. I read one issue of Thor as my research. Not even a graphic novel, one of the thin, thin ones. And by the end of it I was like, well we’re not doing that, let’s not really look at those anymore. Cool art, I love the art, but I can’t stand the way everyone talks.”

Same exact thing he did with Asgard. Its destruction was irreverent because Taika didn’t personally care for the place (or even understand it, for that matter).

“[Asgard] is just full of nerds, you know, scholars, like… it doesn’t seem like a party town. It doesn’t seem like my kind of party town. It seems like a lot of people wandering around in robes, holding books and talking about lofty ideas.”

And similarly with Loki as King.

“I thought if I was Loki and I was ruling Asgard, I would write a play about myself and force everyone to go and see it—change the details of the play and get a huge celebrity to play myself.”

Nothing that happened in Ragnarok considered the integrity of the characters or the world Marvel had built. It was purely about ego. I would have a lot more respect for Ragnarok stans if they just acknowledged that fact and admitted they don’t care about the director’s motives, rather than pretending he’s some kind of comedic genius who truly understands or cares about Thor and Loki. We know that he doesn’t, because he has a bad habit of saying the quiet part out loud.

Sansa could have been to Daenerys what Margaery was to Sansa. 

Even though Daenerys is older, Sansa knows a lot more about politics and playing the game, and she could have taught Daenerys a lot, plus she could have given Daenerys a friend that she desperately needed. 

Why did we not get this instead of the bullshit we actually got? Gahh!
