I downloaded the F1 app yesterday, I put in that George was my favorite driver, I said I want to get notified about F1 news, so this in fact was all my fault. HOWEVER, the way Torger talks about George continues to piss me off. Let’s run through this article I got notified about, shall we?
For starters, the title: Wolff identifies “sweet part” of British GP as Russell still not “gelling with the car”
“Gel with the car” is a direct quote from Torger. Sure, George has said that he’s struggled to connect with the car this season. That was NOT the problem in Silverstone. There were problems with the CAR, not with George.
The article also says George had “a lack of relative performance” which is such misleading wording.
Torger’s full quote is: “He somehow doesn’t gel with the car. We had a straight line speed problem yesterday and the day before.” So you admit there was a problem with the car, but somehow it’s still George’s fault for not understanding the car properly? He would never say Kimi isn’t “gelling with the car,” and he didn’t. With problems for Kimi, it was all the team’s fault. You fucked both of your driver’s cars, but somehow only one gets the blame.
Finally, the thing that pissed me off the most: “They have both had the luck and the unluck of the year - Kimi now twice, George once.”
I’m sorry, are you fucking serious? George has been unlucky once? If we’re talking about overall bad luck, I think it is safe to say that George has Kimi beat. If we’re just talking about DNFs, this is still inaccurate. Both Kimi and George have had 1 DNF, so this comparison should be 1 to 1. Sunday should not be included. And if it is, I think Monaco should be counted for George as well. And that was a combination of incredible bad luck (the penalty that shouldn’t have been given) AND team incompetence (not serving the penalty).
“He just needs to continue to believe he can do it.” NO TORGER, HIS TEAM NEEDS TO STOP FUCKING HIM OVER AND FIX THE DAMN CAR. Stop acting like every problem George has had is his own fault. Anyway I’m going to throttle him and no one will find the body, thank you bye.
