It was a rather late night for the goth. He hadn't really wanted to go out, even in the pursuit of caffeine, but he had an all-nighter to pull, and Michael had not shut up about this place in days. If all it took for some peace and quiet was to try some coffee he was going to drown in sugar anyways, so be it. Besides, the other goths were doing some stupid cult thing again, Firkle's idea. He'd stopped doing all the weird shit in hopes of calm. If that existed here.
He pushed open the door to the shop he'd passed a million times, looking around inside. Michael was right about one thing. The usual hustle and bustle, all the adults chattering and complaining, there was none of it. Music from games he knew, warm smells, the only thing that mildly took him out of the relaxing air was a sharp 'fuck' from the counter, making him turn to see what caused the swear.
A mess of blonde locks and a face full of nerves met his gaze. It's not like he didn't know who ran the place this late, but Pete hadn't ever really- noticed him. Not on purpose, he didn't notice a lot of people. Damn, now he was nervous. People skills weren't his thing. Why was he doing this again?
"Uh... Hi. Thanks." If Tweek was worried about his tone, this one was even more dead and flat. As if the speaker didn't think he'd need to vocalize. "So... I was told that you had some special brews or flavors? Whatever it is, Michael won't stop talking about it, so figured I'd come check it out." That gaze that had been so focused now dropped, the nerves overtaking him too.
There is almost a sort of recognition that crosses Tweek's face when Pete starts to walk. More so in the line delivery. It's not as robotic and stiff as Tweeks, but he's heard it before. So, some of the tension in his body relieves itself and he's reaching in behind the counter to grab a fresh paper cup. Only stopping when he looks at Pete again. But, this time, he wore a somewhat nervous, but still kind of bright smile.
' Oh, y-yeah, him and Henrietta like to have a few things. Uhhhhh... Here... ' He moves to the cabinet behind him, grabbing what looks like a sheet of glossy paper out of it and handed it to Pete. It looks like a sort of menu. ' On the front are coffee, the back is tea. I-I figure after the looks I got from those two trying to explain, this is just easier. So... '
He waits a beat before gently tapping his index finger on the table and back up a little to start shifting around a few bins in the cabinets in preperation. ' Whenever you're ready, b-but no rush. And no pressure, take as long as you need with it. '
Tweek has an ever growing coffee menu that he likes to sell at Tweak Bros when he's the one running the shop. It's not only coffee varieties. It's also a nice selection of varieTEAS... I'll see myself out now. Anyway, what does he have on his selection menu? (under the cut because it'll be long)
Coffees*:
Bass Blend: Tweek's very own blend to mimic a sort of Starbucks pike roast knockoff drink.
Raven Roast: Tweek's very own blend to mimic a sort of Starbucks blonde roast knockoff off drink. (he also just really likes the alliterations of these)
French blends: the usual affair you'd see in a coffee house, his own personal take on French roast coffee that comes in a few flavour selections. And in light, medium, and dark roasts that provide a different flavour intensity. the flavors it comes in are: Vanilla, hazelnut, mocha, cinnamon, and mocha-fruit. (Though Tweek would recommend cinnamon as a medium and dark mocha-fruit blends (especially pomegranate) as a dark roast for the best flavour profiles)
Nuts to coffee: Tweek's first properly original blend. It takes his bass blend mix and pairs it together with notes of a caramel, hazelnut and macadamia nut flavoring to create a semi-sweet drink with nutty and partly earthy undertones. (his personal favourite blend)
Gingerbread (served all year!): A blend that uses the vanilla French roast with dehydrated molasses powder, cocoa and nutmeg to create the perfect festive drink... Or your new favourite daily obsession. And, as the menu says, it's served all year around! Served both hot and iced... But Tweek would highly recommend hot.
Pumpkin Pie (served all year!): A fall classic, who doesn't love a simple pumpkin spice drink? Mild pumpkin flavouring (his own pure homemade extract... from the canned shit in the store and hours and stress), clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon come together in a nostalgic profile that is fresh, cozy and comforting for the colder seasons... But Tweek also makes this all year around both hot and iced.
Doughnut house blend: Tweek's spin on a coffee house classic. This combines his raven roast blends with a little extra vanilla and caramel or maple to create a smooth, semi-sweet drink that tastes like a liquid doughnut. (Yes, you can order it as either caramel or maple, he's still workshopping other flavours currently. And, probably the blend Tweek most recommends served iced.)
Shortcake Blend: Pairs perfectly with a slice of cheese cake or a berry shortcake of any variety. This blend is served medium for the best experience. A mild dark cacao, banana, almond and peach blend for a profile that is both smooth, floral, and rich.
Hot Fudge Brownie Mix: coffee, cacao, pecan, and maple walnuts. Ingredients mixed to bring a semi-sweet and nutty flavour profile that tastes like home! Pairs perfectly with a warm, and flaky croissant for something more cozy, or even a brownie slice for a maximum chocolate experience. Just what gram-gram ordered. (Can be served hot or iced, ask Tweek and he'll tell you it's best as a Ned Flanders cocoa style latte for that real "oh my god" factor... yes he knows how to make a Ned Flanders cocoa)
*All blends can be served black, iced, or latte style. Ask Tweek for his recommendation and he'll tell you what's better for each one. Can also be requested decaf.
Teas*:
Pa Paya Paya Pa Paya (herbal tea): Is the name based on a hit MMORPGs (f.f.xiv) holiday song track? Yes, yes it is. But this tea is a bright, fruity mix combining papaya, dragon fruit, strawberry, and orange zest for a refreshing, sweet, mildly tangy beverage perfect for any time of day. (Tweek would recommend this iced in the summer but enjoys it hot)
Berry Blush (white tea): Strawberry, blackberry, and cherry. A mix that is both fruity and tart, creating the sort of feeling you get from a relaxing berry harvest in the spring and fall. Best served hot in the fall and winter and iced in the spring and summer.
Peppermint Patty (black tea): Combining the rich sweetness of chocolate and a mild intensity of peppermint with a carefully curated nutty finish of almond and pecan... This blend is the perfect way to start your day if you're looking for an alternative to the kick of coffee. And, it is doubly perfect in latte form for an extra smooth creamy taste.
Passionate About Melon (herbal tea): For something a little extra sweet. This tea combines watermelon, apricot, passion fruit, apple and blueberries to be able to give yourself that watermelon sugar high. Best served iced in the summer, but also makes a good hot winter tea to pair with a very low sweetness treat for that extra comfort factor.
Banana Nut Bread Tea (herbal tea): Combining dates, currants, almonds and banana. This tea may as well be the equivalent of putting an actual loaf of banana bread into your blender with hot water and drinking it straight from there. Smooth, rich, sweet and with a nutty finish, this tea feels like a warm hug on a cold day. Good both on its own and as a latte.
Mint-berry Mojito (herbal tea): A twist on a classic taste. Raspberry and blackberry meshes with mint and lime for a drink that is tangy, and packs a refreshing kick for any occasion... Now doesn't that sound kinda familiar? Surely there's no connection to something like the cereal. (there isn't but he's heard the joke many times)
Rose Earl Grey (black tea): Ever wonder what it's like walking through a rose garden on a cool evening? A classic earl grey tea blend combining rose petals and a hint of lavender for that floral finish, this tea is sure to emulate the feeling, while also keeping you toasty and warm for the journey.
Fresh Island Song (herbal tea): The name of this tea is more of a joke his old friend group would understand. Combining coconut, starfruit, honeydew, pineapple, and hibiscus. This sweet, floral, and subtly tart drink is sure to warm or cool your heart in moments flat. Just like George Lucas.
*All teas can be served hot or iced. Ask Tweek, and he'll reccomend his personal favourite way to drink them. all teas come with varying caffeine levels. herbal tea has low to none, black tea has low to medium, white tea has medium to high... why does Tweek have so many herbal teas on the menu? because he's trying to cut down on as much caffeine as possible. Ironic.
The calm and the quiet of the coffee shop this late at night always had a peaceful atmosphere. At least, to Tweek it is, and it's doubled with the soft lofi playlist he has going in the back. Nothing too special, just lofi Nintendo music. Mostly a mix of Animal Crossing, Zelda and Mario. He's tapping away at something on his laptop, mostly cataloguing his own inventory system, when he hears the bell to the coffee shop ring. And the sound makes him jump like 50 feet in the air... Well, dramatic, but his hand certainly smacked the counter next to him.
' Ow! Fuck... ' He shakes his hand a little bit as the sting lingers. He moves his eyes up to see who came in, ready to greet the person when the words catch in his throat for a second. Hold on... Is that one of the goth kids? That's the third one within the week, wasn't it? Michael and Henrietta have been stopping by the last few nights, guess it'd only make sense that it is gonna end up getting back to the other two. But he can't help but stare... Just a little, trying to figure out why they're all kinda coming here all of a sudden.
' Uhhh h-hi, welcome into Tweak Bros. Coffee ' He tries to keep a casual tone, but he always sounds like he's a robot reading off a damn script when he does the "welcome"s lately. Stiff, just shy of monotone. He really wished he didn't have to do this. ' Whaaat can I get started for you? '
