I now can say I use Tumblr regularly (again). Primarily here for fandom stuff. Might actually upload a proper avatar at some point, possibly. It's been 5 years though so who knows (not me). Any - Mid 20s - 18+ blog
I mostly post and reblog stuff from games and media I enjoy. Including but not limited to; Destiny 2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate 3, Subnautica, Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy, Dead Sound, Pern, Warframe, the locked tomb
• Expect memes.
• I will tag spoilers on things 2-3 weeks after release to the best of my ability, and avoid spoilers/leaks before release.
• I queue things for my own enjoyment - I have no queue tag
• Again, 18+ blog
Maybe one day I'll go through and clean up my tags.
Contemplating making a fandom art sideblog
I enjoy the company of a cat and snake so you may see ramblings about them on here, too. Along with general delight in flora, fauna, and fungi.
dead serious normalize having an average boring ass life where you have enough to meet your needs we do not need to be remarkable we just need to be alive
For reference it took like 10-15 to safely cup the bugger and then take it outside. No one was stung, and said wasp crawled under a piece of wood I keep on my patio.
For millions of people managing type 2 diabetes, mornings begin the same way — a needle, a dose, and a quiet mental note to do it all again
For millions of people managing type 2 diabetes, mornings begin the same way — a needle, a dose, and a quiet mental note to do it all again tomorrow.
That routine just changed.
On March 26, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Awiqli (insulin icodec-abae), developed by Novo Nordisk, as the first and only once-weekly basal insulin ever approved for adults with type 2 diabetes in the United States.
This is not a minor update to an existing drug.
It is the first entirely new class of basal insulin to reach U.S. patients in more than two decades.
Instead of injecting insulin every single day, people with type 2 diabetes using Awiqli will only need one shot per week, on the same day, every week.
That means reducing from 365 injections a year down to just 52.
For anyone who has ever felt the weight of that daily ritual — the anxiety of forgetting, the physical discomfort, the constant reminder that their body needs help — this approval represents something much bigger than a dosing schedule.
It represents relief.
How the Drug Actually Works
Understanding why this injection lasts a full week requires a quick look inside the body.
Most traditional basal insulins are absorbed into the bloodstream and begin breaking down within 24 hours, which is why patients need a fresh dose every day to maintain stable blood sugar levels.
Awiqli works differently.
Its active ingredient, insulin icodec-abae, is engineered to loosely attach to a blood protein called albumin, which is found naturally and abundantly in the bloodstream.
This attachment creates a slow-release reservoir.
Instead of flooding the system and fading fast, the insulin releases gradually and consistently over an entire seven-day period, keeping blood sugar in a healthy range around the clock...
What Comes Next
Awiqli is not standing alone in this space for long.
Eli Lilly is developing its own once-weekly basal insulin, called efsitora alfa, which is currently in late-stage clinical trials.
If that drug also earns FDA approval, it would give patients and doctors two once-weekly options to choose from, allowing for personalized decisions based on a patient’s health profile, insurance coverage, and individual response.
The broader direction of travel in diabetes care is unmistakable.
Fewer injections, smarter formulations, and better integration with digital tools like continuous glucose monitors and insulin-tracking apps are all converging toward a future where managing diabetes requires less daily mental effort without becoming any less medically precise...
A Small Shot With Large Implications
It is easy to look at a once-weekly injection and see only a scheduling change.
But the science behind Awiqli, the scale of the ONWARDS trials, and the consistent satisfaction reported by patients all point toward something that matters far more than convenience.
Diabetes management has always asked a lot of people.
It asks for daily vigilance, daily discipline, and a daily willingness to confront one’s own condition, sometimes in uncomfortable or inconvenient circumstances.
Anything that reduces that load, without reducing the quality of care, is worth taking seriously.
For the more than 37 million Americans living with diabetes, and the hundreds of millions more around the world, a simpler weekly routine could mean the difference between a treatment plan that works on paper and one that actually works in a person’s life.
That is the real significance of what the FDA approved on March 26, 2026.
Not just a new drug.
A new way of keeping people healthy, one week at a time.

Someone requested a doodle of “some of the Dominion’s anti-human propaganda” but tbh this is too real outside of star trek. this is probably plastered over the entire Citadel in Mass Effect
I've given myself heat exhaustion AGAIN (heck, I hope it's only heat exhaustion, rip) and I am not here for it ffs so to make sure y'all know about it, imma share the signs of heat exhaustion!
Heat exhaustion is quite literally your body getting too hot and Exhausting itself to cope. Heatstroke is your body Failing To Cope.
Heat Exhaustion signs include:
You get a headache that Will Not Go Away
You feel confused and dizzy (balance who? Idk her)
You don't feel hungry but you feel sick as well (this sucks and happens a lot in high heat so try and snack regularly)
Sweating and clammy skin like the kind that has people go "you're freezing!" because you've sweated so much you literally end up with a chill on your skin
Cramps. Feckin cramps. Arms. Legs. Stomach. They suck ass.
You have a heckin fast pulse or you're hyperventilating like you've just had a Scare
Your body temp is over 38°c (because you're literally boiling like a lobster in a pot)
You are Beyond Thirsty and no matter what you drink it Does Not Abate
If you end up experiencing any of these symptoms, or multiple, and you're in a hot/warm environment, then sit your ass down in the shade, get something to drink, and get a damp cloth on your head or a change of clothes that are cool.
Basically, stop what you're doing and give your body a chance to Not Keep Boiling
Heat exhaustion is NOT THE SAME as a heatstroke.
Heatstroke is So Much Worse™.
Heatstroke signs include:
Still feeling like utter shite 30 minutes after you sat your ass down, rested in a cool place, and rehydrated
Not actually sweating even though you really do feel like a lobster in a pot that has the heat up High
Your body temp is 40°c+ (which is bad btw, that's temp for causing your to pass out etc)
Hyperventilating/fast breathing or actual shortness of breath (I struggle with this because asthma so I'm always like "idk if I got this oops)
Feeling confused but in a like "I don't know what's going on, I can't think, I have no idea about anything, someone help me please I'm crossing into traffic and don't even realise" way
Having a fit/seizure because your body temp is so high your brain is Actually Getting Boiled In Your Skull 🙃 [upside down smiley emoji]
Passing out and not actually responding or waking up from a brief fainting spell (this is the Serious™ kind of passing out that has doctors going "oh shit, we need an IV STAT!" or whatever it is they say when Shit Is Going Down)
Heatstroke can be really dangerous if it isn't treated quickly so please don't ignore these signs. Right now, I'm in a cool environs, with hydration, and am avoiding moving and am gonna have a nap because I'm going very dizzy, can't focus properly, have a headache, and am only coherent here because I'm HyperFocusing on this post. I can't even understand words being said to me right now hence nap, hydration, and cool environs.
So please, y'all, take care of yourselves. Seriously.
If you have low blood sugar, but are having a hard time eating because you feel crappy from the heat, try sucking on some hard candy
If possible, after you get out of the sun/heat drink Gatorade or something similar to replenish what you've been loosing from sweating
When drinking water or Gatorade (no matter what you have it is important to stay hydrated!) it is important to drink slowly, even if you are very thirsty, because if you drink too fast the water might come back up
In hot weather, bandanas are very useful, even as a preventative measure, because you can pour some water from you bottle (or anything else) on them, and then put them on your head (as mentioned above) or neck. A few other areas help as well, like armpits, but I would personally recommend your neck.
It is not recommended to use a fan at or above 99°f or 35°c, because they can actually start to make the heat worse. (I know these are different temps, the recommendations come from different governments, 35°c is around 95°f, but this also depends on conditions like humidity, so just use your best judgement with this info)
Most importantly, if you think you are getting heat stroke call 911 or your equivalent, heat stroke kills several people each year, even in my area, where it normally only gets to 100°f for a few days each year
Well shit, I had most of those Sunday Morning, can heat exhaustion continue to hit even after you've moved into a cool environment, rehydrated, eaten, taken a long warmish-coolish shower and then slept for 7 hours?
Because those symptoms match the the symptoms I had last Sunday and made me feel like shit upon waking up.
They can yes @artisanscribbles because heat exhaustion takes time to go away. You may well feel a bit under the weather for a few days after experiencing it, and any sort of exposure to heat without proper precautions can make it flare up again and worsen into heatstroke.
It's why it's so important to rest and keep hydrated when it's warm. I hope you eventually felt better and maintained your hydration levels with water and other fluids.
I had three days of feeling the after effects of heat exhaustion myself and felt like I had a cold, a constant headache, and random chills all at the same time as having a dry throat, not sweating properly, dizziness, and even muscle cramps from the rapid dehydration I experienced.
In general, to anyone who sees or reblogs this:
It's really important to take care of yourself, both immediately after you recognise you've got heat exhaustion, and in the long term. It can affect you for days after.
So, it's said in archeology/anthropology that the first ever sign of the development of civilization in humanity's ancestors was not a piece of pottery or a tool, but a healed femur. A skeleton that predates all other trappings of human civilization, which had a femur with evidence of fully healing from a severe break. An injury which absolutely would not have been survivable for an individual living alone. Proof that this person's tribe tended to their injuries and nursed them back to health. That act was the moment humans became "civilized."
So many animals are more like us than they are different from us.
The making of Albrecht and Loid's "The Kiss" Painting - inspired by Gustav Klimt (PROCESS PHOTOS!!!)
Boy this one was a doozy. but i had so much fun!!! Oil painting is an ass kicking medium tho Jesus Christ.
For necessary context, our final oil painting assignment was to "reinterpret a masterpiece painting" aka any famous oil painting we wanted---i instantly knew this was what i wanted to do. I was very afraid at first, thinking maybe it was way too ambitious for me and the time i had, but i said fuck it, why not---yaoi conquers all right?
They started as an egg lol. For some reason i was fixated on mixing the perfect shade of minty green for the grass.....even tho i ended up covering it up with other colors in the end.
Lots of drawing and erasing with the paint eraser for the silhouettes. I was covered in yellow paint lol. It was very slow, and anxiety inducing---i started with the grass and flowers because they're such an important part of the original, and also because i wanted to avoid jumping headfirst into doing the faces and skin which are the hardest and most important part of the painting imo. Especially with albrechts neck looking like a humpback whale, i was dreading it.
It was annoying was having to throw away colors bc I ran out of space on the palette or they dried out, then trying to remix them from memory---Im not very good at doing that.
Drawing his face was very hard, paint is very unforgiving lol. But I was finally happy enough with the sketch to keep going
Now THIS is where i reached my first breaking point---skin is very hard and I genuinely couldnt figure it out. I emailed my teacher with pictures and asked for some advice with mixing skin tones, and she was very helpful!!! I dont remember exactly what she said---i think you start with yellow ochre, lighten it with white, and then you mix warm colors to get the highlights (burnt Sienna, flesh pink, orange) and to work towards cooler tones for the shadows (add cobalt blue and a touch of alizarin crimson, which is red but has a lot of blue in it). idk dont trust my advice, the whole process was a blur and im still very much a baby at this medium.
Eventually, after some dabbling with her advice and a lot of mixing/erasing/repainting the leg, i found something that felt right, so i kept going.
Next I worked on mostly loids face and hair, whilst trying to place the flowers on his dress. Im honestly still unsure how i did it, but his face looks very cute I think! I shouldve added more wrinkles but I was finally happy with it after so many tries, that I was too afraid to mess with it.
His hair was a lot of white, lemon yellow (since, apparently, cadmium yellow takes a fucktillion years to dry---i found this out the hard way), and yellow ochre for the various lights and darks.
This was where i started panicking about loids dress lol. The original was a bit odd to me so I wanted to try "doing my own thing", which was honestly a bad idea.
My color palette!!! So much mixing. Initially I had my laptop with the reference painting at the end of the palette but I wanted more room to mix, so I just put the laptop on a separate cart lol.
This was when it was down to the wire, the night before. I ended up staying at the studio through the night and into the next morning, thought half of that time i was taking food and piss breaks (aka avoiding the painting).
The flowers on his dress were starting to make me break down because I wanted to have all the colors of the rainbow on it (not just because its gay, I thought it would be pretty), but the colors felt so wrong---so I erased the pink-orange flowers and tried again, and again, and again. So much erasing, so much repainting. I wanted to incorporate the red so badly!!!! Thats what the original does!!! Why couldnt I make it work??? Everyone around me said it looked "fine" but to me it looked like fucking salami T--T.
I hated it so much I eventually gave up on the red, erased the flowers again, and painted them purple and blue. By then I'd already scrapped my previous purples so I had to mix new purples and blues, which was annoying, and I still really hate how they turned out. The flower garland idea was a mistake, but I had no choice but to lie in the bed I had made and keep going forward---it was due at 2 PM that day.
I ended up staying awake for 27 hours straight while painting, which I think is my own personal record lol. For the record please try not to do that to yourself---this was the first time I'd ever pulled an all nighter, believe it or not, because I was genuinely very desperate and struggling to get things done in a timely manner. But I'm gonna avoid chastising myself for poor time management or whatever because everyone else in my life does it for me, and Im fucking tired of it lol. Nothing I do is ever good enough for these fucks.
