animation being treated like a genre instead of a medium is something that actually makes me go insane. beauty and the beast is a romance. the emperor's new groove is a buddy comedy. big hero 6 is a superhero movie. moana is an adventure film. the lion king is a drama. treasure planet is sci-fi. if i was talking to someone who hadn't seen these movies before, and they weren't specifically interested in animation as a medium, then i wouldn't necessarily assume they'd enjoy all of these. and that's just disney movies! try telling an anime fan that fruits basket and fullmetal alchemist are the same genre and see how they react!

The day non-black people stop masculinizing black women is the day I find peace. I'm looking at you wicked & arcane fandom. The deep misogynoir some of you people have towards not just “​Elphaba” but Cynthia especially after she decided to defend Ari will forever piss me off. And with the arcane fandom constantly viewing Ambessa and Mel as only strong black women. Cut that shit out. This even goes to some of the arcane fanfic writers, especially when you’re writing Ambessa fics, you only view her as this “bulky/aggressive” black woman. It’s the harmful stereotypes that you keep implementing, learn how to write black women characters. - a black woman who is sick and tired of being sick and tired.

And if you cannot learn then stop writing black women cause clearly your ignorance continues to keep you blinded.

Wicked is a story that is literally about racism and discrimination regardless of which version of the story you are consuming, and y’all don’t treat it like that. You want to baby Glinda and villainize Elphaba not realizing that you are quite literally falling for the propaganda against her in the Wicked universe. Then y’all have the nerve to try and attack people who say that Glinda isn’t a good person. She’s not! She wasn’t a good person in the beginning of Wicked and she doesn’t turn over a new leaf until it is too late for literally anyone else but herself. Glinda is a shallow, narcissistic, and racist person who is even worse in the book. You cannot simply ignore that. Just like you cannot ignore her complacency and betrayal towards Elphaba. The woman who is supposedly her best friend. And I’ll say it again: At least Fiyero stands up and does something. Yes, he was complacent, but when it came down to it he came to his senses and stood by Elphaba like a real friend would. He picked a side. The right side. No amount of “But what was she supposed to do?” and “They both were bad” will ever make Glinda’s level of complacency ok. Never. She led the charge against Elphaba at Shiz and she led the charge against her once again during her stint as Glinda “the Good”. Point blank period. I don’t feel bad for anything that happened to Glinda at the end of Wicked because she deserved it. You don’t get to enjoy the luxuries of ignorance and hatred and then suddenly expect to still get everything you want when you decide to do something at the last minute. You just don’t. It is all the consequences of her actions coming back to bite her in the butt.

PS: And before anyone starts: No, I do not care about your shipping wars cuz I ship Elphaba with both Glinda and Fiyero. Not only that, but to equate everything to shipping is a problem. It shows exactly why a lot of y’all lack media literacy and comprehension skills the way that you do.
