Towards the end of last year (so not that long ago) I began on my first johnlock fic. It’s incredibly OOC but has been so much fun to work on; I wanted to do something different than anything I’d read before. It’s Johnlock with a lovely sprinkle (more like a downpour) of MorMor.

SUMMARY: “You had all of me that I knew how to give. And if you would ever have me again, I would give you all the rest.”
Or, the one where John is a jaded bastard who has sworn off love completely, Sherlock is a grand romancing photographer/footy coach, whilst Jim and Seb face their own troubling complexities (arson included).
Oh, and Greg is there as well.

This is an extremely OOC AU.
Slow burn, updated regularly; sad to happy to infuriating to fucking devastating to somewhat happy again.
Enjoy, and please indulge me with any questions, thoughts, or points of clarification.
BUT WHY IS JOHN'S FLAT ARCHITECTURALLY IMPOSSIBLE? HOW IS HIS FRONT DOOR UNDER THE STAIRS? WHY IS THERE ANOTHER FRONT DOOR AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS? WHERE IS HIS BEDROOM? "SAVE MY SOUL, SEEK MY ROOM"?????? I HAVE BEEN IN TORTUOUS PAIN FOR 42 DAYS WHEN WILL MY HELL END? I'M DONE WITH THIS FUCKING SHOW.
when sherlock says “we have a client” in asib and john is like “what, in your bedroom?”, he is flirting so hard, this is flirting 101, his voice, his smile hidden in the words, he is like “haha, what a silly way for you to invite me into your bedroom”. sherlock could’ve said “there’s a fire” and john could’ve answered “what, in your pants?” and it would’ve been the s a m e thing
NO BUT SERIOUSLY John says “what, in your bedroom?” and he strides over to join Sherlock with a smile in his voice and a lilt in his tone and with what? A bottle of wine in his hand.
and you see the CLEAR disappointment in his face when he realizes Sherlok really did mean there was a client his room and it is The Woman.
I MEAN
Look how upset he looks after she wakes up, showers, and uses Sherlock’s robe
This happened after Sherlock heard the “look at us both” conversation between them. They went and did the shopping TOGETHER. They could have picked that bottle of wine together. Remember, this is when John finally stops correcting people and stops trying to find a girlfriend. This could have been the night John finally talked to Sherlock about what he overheard, about his true feelings for him.
But Irene came, and interrupted them. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT THIS SCENE.
One of my fave fics of ALL time talks about exactly this moment and I URGE you strongly to read it!
It’s too bad you disappeared, but thank you for giving me a chance to heal. I cried through playing Sherlock because I felt the crippling pain of his love being squashed all over again. My version of a fix-it fic.
You: [Post-TFP] I know I haven't expressed this, but I am very glad you are back in 221B with Rosie. - SH
Stranger: Me too. JW
You: She seems happy. She's adjusting well. - SH
Stranger: And you? JW
Are we going to talk about what happened? JW
You: Talk about what? - SH
Stranger: You know, your mad evil sister that you blocked out of your memory? JW
Who did...all those things. JW
You: I'd rather not. - SH
Thinking about you both back home is far more preferable. - SH
Stranger: Right. JW
I just, you know, if you need to talk, or something. JW
You: That's very kind of you. - SH
You: But unnecessary, I assure you. - SH
Stranger: If you say so. JW
You: [Delayed] And you? - SH
Stranger: I'm just fine. JW
You: You can tell me if you're not. - SH
Stranger: I'm not. JW
It is what it is. JW
You: Then you can tell me. - SH
Stranger: Mycroft told me. About what happened. JW
I'm sorry about your friend. JW
You: I didn't mean that. - SH
Stranger: What? JW
You: You said you aren't fine. - SH
You: I'd like to know. - SH
Stranger: Mary's still dead and we were at the mercy of a deranged sociopath. Again. JW
But we're here. JW
You: And you admitted you aren't fine. Please talk to me. - SH
Stranger: Yeah, well, I'm never going to be 'fine.' Not really. JW
You: I know. - SH
You: I'm sorry. - SH
Stranger: It's not your fault. JW
You: It isn't but I'm apologizing on her behalf. - SH
Stranger: I almost dated her. JW
I suppose I do have a type. JW
You: Oh god, don't remind me. - SH
You: Psychopaths? We've been over this before. - SH
Stranger: Seems to keep coming up. JW
You: Well, you do have an addiction. Welcome to the club. - SH
Stranger: I'm pretty sure I had a normal life once. Can't really remember. Gone a bit hazy. JW
You: Even before Mary your life was never normal. - SH
Stranger: Fair enough. JW
Anyway, I've got Rosie now and that makes all of it worth it. JW
You: It does. She really is perfect, John. - SH
Stranger: Sherlock, if anything we to happen to her... JW
You: Is that a threat? Of course nothing is going to happen to her. - SH
Stranger: No. No. I know. JW
I keep thinking. About those bones. JW
You: [Delayed] That's never going to happen, John. - SH
Stranger: That little boy. JW
You: It won't happen. - SH
You: John, listen to me. - SH
You: No one will ever touch Rosie. Ever. - SH
Stranger: I guess you're right. JW
You: I'm sorry you had to see that. - SH
I'm sorry I got you involved. - SH
If I'd listened to Mycroft and kept it between family, you wouldn't have been there. - SH
Stranger: No. Don't even say that. JW
You: You wouldn't have been there. - SH
You wouldn't have nearly shot the Governor. - SH
You would've been home with her. - SH
You: I'm sorry. But it will never happen to Rosie. - SH
Stranger: And maybe you or Mycroft wouldn't have gotten out alive. JW
You're not getting rid of me that easily. JW
You: [Delayed] Did you think I would do it? - SH
You: Did you think I was going to choose you? - SH
Stranger: No. JW
I don't know. JW
You: Tell me. - SH
Did you think I was going to choose you? - SH
Stranger: I was worried you wouldn't. JW
You: Why? - SH
Stranger: I didn't think there was another choice. JW
You: You didn't think I would rather you live? - SH
Stranger: Of course. But what choice did she leave us? JW
You: It left Mycroft. - SH
You: But you didn't think I would shoot him. - SH
Stranger: He's your brother. JW
Not to mention the only person almost as clever as your sister. JW
You: You thought I would shoot you. Take you away from Rosie. - SH
You thought I would make the logical decision and choose mental prowess over you. - SH
You thought I would leave your daughter an orphan. - SH
Stranger: No. No, I guess, not really. JW
But I wanted to make it easier for you. JW
Stranger: Mary gave her life to save you. I was willing to do the same. JW
Soldiers, remember? JW
You: I'm not a soldier, John, I'm your best friend. - SH
Stranger: You haven't been sleeping. JW
You: So? - SH
You: I never do. - SH
Stranger: I've heard you up at night. Pacing. JW
You: I always do that. I just don't have a violin anymore. - SH
Stranger: Sherlock. JW
I worry about you. JW
You: Me? You thought I was going to kill you! - SH
Stranger: Yeah, well, if the situation had been reversed, who knows what I would have done. JW
If it had been you or Mary. JW
You: You would have chosen me. - SH
Logical choice. - SH
Stranger: Yeah, well, she chose differently. JW
You: John. - SH
Stranger: Bloody stubborn. JW
You: You would have chosen me. And Ii would've understood. - SH
Stranger: I'm sorry I blamed you. JW
You: We're past that. - SH
Stranger: I hurt you. JW
You: Again, past that. I didn't even scar. - SH
Stranger: Not to mentioned what else you went through, just on Mary's orders. JW
Stranger: It's never going to be easy, is it? JW
Stranger: ((brb))
You: They were hardly orders. More like suggestions. - SH
What's never going to be easy? - SH
Stranger: Life. All of this. JW
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want it to be easy, it's just...all been a bit much lately. JW
Stranger: You're stuck with me though. No matter what. JW
You: I'm stuck with you? I'd think it was the other way around. - SH
You: [Delayed] Scratch that. I'm not stuck. - SH
I want to be here. - SH
Stranger: Normally, I'd go back to therapy after everything but... JW
You: Right. I'd stick with Ella. - SH
She's actually rather good. - SH
Stranger: Really. JW
Wow. JW
You: What? - SH
Stranger: Just surprised to hear, you say that, that's all. JW
You: I went to see her after the aquarium. - SH
Stranger: Oh. JW
Stranger: After Mary died, you mean. JW
You: Yes. Still a bit difficult to say. - SH
Stranger: I know. JW
You: Of course, if you don't want to go to a therapist, you could talk to me. - SH
Stranger: Uh huh. JW
You: What? - SH
Stranger: Just...funny. JW
You're so different from how you used to be. JW
You: Different how? - SH
Stranger: You're not the cold logic machine you like everyone to think you are. JW
You: Was I ever? - SH
Stranger: No. Not really. JW
You know what else is strange? JW
You: What? - SH
Stranger: Your sister actually wasn't half bad when she was pretending to be a therapist. JW
You: Oh god. - SH
You: I don't like thinking about her being that close to you. Mentally and physically. - SH
Stranger: She's good at pretending. JW
You're not. Pretending, that is. JW
You: How am I not good at pretending? Most people fall for it. - SH
Stranger: Most people. I can see right through it, though. JW
You: Like when? - SH
Stranger: Like when you're pretending you're okay. JW
You: I am okay. - SH
Stranger: Right. JW
Me too. JW
You: Is there a question somewhere? - SH
Stranger: What? JW
You: You're obviously not okay, which means you're implying that I am not either. - SH
Stranger: Is that one of your deductions? JW
You: Yes. - SH
Stranger: There's no way you could be okay after what happened. JW
You: I'm not. - SH
Stranger: Right. JW
You: It is what it is. - SH
Stranger: It is what it is. JW
You: Sorted? - SH
Stranger: I guess. JW
You: I'm sorry if I upset you. I won't mention it again. - SH
Stranger: No. It's fine. I was the one who brought it up. JW
You: I wouldn't choose you, John. - SH
You know that, right? - SH
Stranger: Our luck is going to run out eventually. JW
You: What does that mean? - SH
Stranger: I just want you to know that if - when - something happens to me, it's okay. I made my decision long ago, and that was to stay with you. JW
I just want Rosie to be safe, no matter what. JW
You: I'm not letting that happen, John. - SH
I was going to shoot myself to keep that happening. - SH
Rosie isn't going to live without you. - SH
Stranger: Alright, well, we're not getting into this again. JW
You: I just need you to understand. I don't want any doubts between us. - SH
I need you to know where we stand with each other. - SH
Stranger: Okay, fine. But I'd also never let you shoot yourself, so there. JW
You: Try and stop me. - SH
You could barely think. - SH
Stranger: Oh, please. I could have stopped you. JW
You: Highly unlikely. You were too far, and too scared. - SH
Stranger: We're lucky, I guess, that she didn't want you spoiling her experiment. JW
You: That she still wanted me as her lab rat, you mean? - SH
Stranger: Yeah. JW
You: Very lucky. - SH
Stranger: How's Mycroft? JW
You: Stoic, as ever. Greg helped him through the initial recovery. - SH
Stranger: Greg Lestrade? And Mycroft? JW
You: It's best not to think about it, believe me. - SH
Stranger: Huh. JW
New surprises, every day. JW
Stranger: [delayed] Has Molly spoken to you yet? JW
You: Don't ask him about it either. I don't want details. - SH
You: I spoke to her. - SH
We had coffee. - SH
Stranger: Coffee? Really? JW
You: What I put her through was traumatising, I needed to make it up to her. - SH
Stranger: You did what you thought you had to. JW
It seemed like the right thing at the time. JW
You: I know. But I didn't tell her that. - SH
Stranger: She couldn't have known. JW
You: I know. But to say I had no choice put blame on someone else. And I am partly to blame. - SH
Stranger: Sherlock. JW
You: If I'm being honest with myself, I am entirely to blame actually. - SH
Stranger: I mean, you haven't always been, I suppose the most diplomatic with Molly, but, you've gotten better. JW
You: But if I hadn't let this continue for so long, she wouldn't have been a target. - SH
You: This wouldn't have happened. - SH
Stranger: We've all made mistakes. JW
You: Which is why I apologised. - SH
Stranger: Good. JW
I called Harry. JW
Well, more like finally answered her calls. JW
You: Oh? - SH
Stranger: Yeah. JW
She'd heard about Mary. She was worried about me, but I just ignored her. JW
You: Do you think you'll ever speak to her on a deeper level? - SH
You: Wait, you hadn't told her? - SH
Stranger: No. She read about it, in the news. JW
You know, in the sort of superficial way they'd reported it. JW
You: Why don't you get along? Aside from the drinking? - SH
Stranger: I don't think I've been a very good brother to her. JW
You: Why? - SH
Stranger: I don't know. JW
I feel like I could have done something more, to help her. JW
You: Alcoholism isn't something you can help someone through. - SH
Stranger: I know. But still. JW
You: She could always come round. - SH
You: She hasn't even met Rosie. - SH
Stranger: Yeah. We made plans, actually. JW
You: Oh, good. It just takes a little effort. - SH
Stranger: You're lecturing me, now? JW
You: I'm playing therapist. It isn't as easy as I expected. - SH
Stranger: Yeah, you'd make a rubbish therapist. Too many opinions. JW
You: Well, I am me. - SH
Stranger: And I wouldn't want anything else. JW
You: Likewise. - SH
Stranger: Can you pick up a couple more cans of formula from the shop? The dairy free kind. I think Rosie's allergic. JW
You: Of course. I'll get milk too, we're out. - SH
Stranger: Sherlock Holmes has become quite the homemaker. JW
Stranger: ((brb))
You: Well, you always complained about the milk before. - SH
Stranger: What if she escapes again? JW
You: Sorry? - SH
Stranger: Eurus. JW
You: She won't. Mycroft is making sure of that. - SH
You: Is that what you're afraid of? - SH
Stranger: Well, yeah. Aren't you? JW
You: If she escapes, the only thing I am afraid of is the possibility of her reaching home before I can end her. - SH
Stranger: She's smarter than you. JW
You: Intelligence does nothing to interfere with the projection of a bullet. - SH
Stranger: Right. JW
I think I might be done with guns for a while. JW
You: Why is that? - SH
Stranger: You're really asking that? JW
You: My John Watson always has a gun. - SH
He doesn't let outside variables change who he is. - SH
Stranger: 'Your' John Watson? JW
You: Yes, my Army Doctor, John Watson. - SH
Stranger: Not even going to touch that one. JW
It just seems like guns have been the source of most of our problems recently. JW
You: They also solved them. - SH
Stranger: [delayed] I remember. JW
You: I don't think you've told me everything that's bothering you. - SH
Stranger: I don't think I've fully dealt with it all myself. JW
You: Can I help? - SH
Stranger: You already have. JW
You: It doesn't feel like it. - SH
Stranger: I know. JW
You: [Delayed] Can I talk? - SH
Stranger: Sure. JW
You: Sometimes I wish I hadn't changed. That I still didn't understand why Jennifer Wilson would use Rachel's name as her password. - SH
Stranger: Oh, Sherlock. JW
You: I wish I could go back to flogging corpses. But now I have to resort to experimenting on organs because I can't look at their faces. - SH
Stranger: We are going to have to talk about childproofing the flat, by the way, once Rosie starts crawling. JW
You: I'm not experimenting in the flat anymore. - SH
Stranger: You're a good man, Sherlock. JW
I guess that could feel more like a curse sometimes, but it's not. JW
You: I'd rather be how I was. - SH
Stranger: Yeah, well, you were a dick. JW
You: You still liked me. - SH
Stranger: Yeah. JW
Stranger: I think I know how you feel. Well, maybe not exactly, but it's like having Rosie here, being a father...everything's different for me now. JW
You: For the better, of course. - SH
Stranger: Well, yeah, but it's also fucking /terrifying./ It's like walking around with your heart outside of your chest. Especially now. After everything. JW
You: I know the feeling. - SH
Stranger: And it's funny, right, because it's logic, too, you know? It's science. Wanting to keep her safe, because parents are programmed to do that. Love is, well, it's chemical. It should be Sherlock Holmes approved. JW
You: Of course it's science. It's instinct to want to protect family with your own life. - SH
How ironic. The unfeeling man gets to approve it. - SH
Stranger: You're not unfeeling. JW
You: No, I've rather shown my hand there. - SH
Stranger: What was his name? JW
The boy in the well. JW
Your friend. JW
You: Victor Trevor. - SH
Stranger: Victor Trevor. JW
You: He was a boy from a farm not far away. He liked ice lollies. - SH
Stranger: I can picture him. JW
You: I can too. - SH
Stranger: That poor little boy, having to survive something like that. JW
You: He didn't, John. - SH
Stranger: I didn't mean him. JW
You: I'm sorry? - SH
Stranger: I meant you. JW
You: I didn't even remember. - SH
Stranger: Some part of you must have. JW
You: Well I do now. - SH
Stranger: All of it? JW
You: Most of it. I'm trying not to remember the rest. - SH
Stranger: Shit. JW
You: What? - SH
Stranger: Just...everything. Shit. JW
You: I'm concerned. What are you thinking? - SH
Stranger: Well, the man you were, the one who tried not to care about people, that was because of her. Eurus. JW
Wasn't it? JW
You: It seems so. It wasn't clear at the time. But looking back I can understand the psychological need for defenses. - SH
Stranger: So, now, by caring, maybe you're finally truly free of her. JW
Now I'm the one trying to be a therapist, I guess. You can tell me to piss off if you want. JW
You: No no, it's fine. - SH
I still don't know if I'm comfortable with it. - SH
My first instinct is to want to go back, to hide behind being emotionless. - SH
You: But obviously, it's easier said than done. I haven't felt like that since before my fall. - SH
Stranger: We never really talked about that, did we? JW
You: Which part? - SH
Stranger: I dunno. Those two years, in between. JW
You: There isn't much to say on my part. Case after case after case. - SH
Stranger: That was it? JW
You: There were some more unpleasant than others. - SH
Mycroft took me from the worst one, so I came back. - SH
Stranger: Oh. JW
I'm glad you came back. JW
You: I never asked you because of obvious reasons. - SH
You: I knew you weren't happy. - SH
Stranger: I wasn't. JW
It was difficult. JW
But not all of it was bad. JW
You: [Delayed] Are we ever going to stop this? - SH
Stranger: Stop what? JW
You: Tip-toeing around each other. - SH
Stranger: What do you mean? JW
You: I know it was more than difficult for you. And I know you are aware of some of the difficulties I had. - SH
And yet we're both still too closed off to tell details. - SH
Stranger: Mine is rather more uneventful than yours. I didn't have any 'cases.' I was sad. I was angry. I went back to therapy, for a bit, but it didn't really do anything. Mostly I just tried to stay busy with work. Tried not to think about it. Kept going. JW
And then, I met Mary. JW
You: You were drinking. - SH
I shouldn't know that, Mycroft had to pry. But you were. - SH
Stranger: Huh. Yeah, I was. JW
You: Mine was more eventful, but that isn't always a good thing. - SH
Easy cases turned into difficult cases which turned into dangerous ones. - SH
The further I went into Moriarty's web, the harder it was to climb out. - SH
You: Mycroft had to take me out of Serbia. I'd been held there for months. Managed to escape once, but it got worse after. - SH
Stranger: I'm sorry. JW
You: That's why I tried to overdose on the plane. - SH
I wasn't going to go back. - SH
Stranger: You did what? JW
You: When you found me on the plane. I wasn't intending to get off. - SH
Stranger: And you were concerned about my drinking. JW
Arsehole. JW
You: Well, Mycroft was sending me on a suicide mission. - SH
He predicted I'd be dead in six months. I wanted him to be wrong. - SH
You: I'm always concerned about you one way or another, so that isn't new. - SH
Stranger: I'm always concerned about /you./ JW
Six months. Huh. When was that? JW
You: After I shot Magnussen. - SH
Stranger: No, I know. JW
I was just thinking, About six months. JW
Rosie's age. JW
You: What's the significance? - SH
Stranger: Nothing, Never mind. JW
You: What is it? - SH
Stranger: It doesn't mean anything. Not everything has to mean something, Sherlock. JW
You: You mentioned it. - SH
Stranger: I know. JW
I'm glad you didn't go on that plane. JW
I'm glad that message came up. From...I guess, your sister, right? JW
It was never Moriarty. JW
You: No, it was just her. - SH
Stranger: So. She saved your life. JW
You: Because she wanted to play a game. - SH
You: She didn't do it out of love. - SH
Stranger: The end result is still the same. JW
You: No, nothing is the same. - SH
Nothing that happened is what she intended. - SH
Stranger: Did I ever tell you how Mary and I met? JW
You: No, how? - SH
Stranger: One of our regular secretaries quit. JW
She got hired. JW
Her first day, she told me that there had been a robbery in her neighborhood and that she was afraid to walk home alone. So I walked her to her flat. I tried to kiss her, at the end, but she said no. That I needed to get my life together first. And she was right, I was still pretty much a wreck at this point. JW
So I did, I really worked hard at it, to become better, to become worthy of her. JW
I looked up the police blotter much later. There wasn't a robbery in her neighborhood at the time. And had there been, she would have been better than me at dealing with it. JW
You: So she asked you to accompany her, even though you weren't really needed. - SH
She saw you needed fixing, so she gave you a distraction. - SH
And when you showed interest, she let you down gently, but hoped you would try again when you were ready, and not just to jump into things. - SH
Because she knew you would try again. - SH
Luckily, you didn't miss your chance. - SH
Stranger: She was always in control. Even when I thought I was. JW
You: It sounds bad when you say it like that. - SH
Stranger: Well, she wasn't always good. JW
You: She tried to always be good to you. - SH
Stranger: We both tried. JW
You: As far as I'm concerned, you succeeded. - SH
Stranger: No, we didn't, but thank you for saying that. JW
You: I take it you're still feeling guilty. - SH
Stranger: I am. I always will. I've accepted that. JW
It is what it is. JW
The only thing I can do now is take care of our daughter. JW
You: I would try to convince you not to feel guilty about it anymore, but it's like speaking to a wall sometimes. - SH
Stranger: No, it's like speaking to a person. JW
People aren't machines. You can't just turn feelings on or off. I'm always going to be sad, and feel guilty, and miss her, and it's okay. JW
Or...not okay. Just life. JW
You: I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. - SH
I just meant, you're stubborn. - SH
No, that's not right. I mean, I agree. This isn't something I can talk you out of. - SH
You: I'm sorry, I'm not good with this. - SH
Stranger: You're doing fine, Sherlock. JW
You: I keep trying to put myself in the same position. If I'd done that and lost someone before I told them. I don't know how I would feel. - SH
Stranger: That's called empathy. JW
You: Which apparently I'm rubbish at. - SH
Stranger: Pretty good for a high-functioning sociopath. JW
You: We both know that's not true. - SH
Stranger: So. I'm, ah, working on something. I wasn't going to tell you just yet, but I probably should while we're talking. JW
You: Working on what? - SH
Stranger: I was trying to figure out what to do with the blog. Wasn't really sure. Didn't seem right to keep posting, but I couldn't just get rid of it either. I wrote about all our old cases. JW
Then, I figured it out. JW
I'm writing a book. For Rosie, mostly. So she knows about you, and me, and her mother. JW
Obviously I'll leave some things out. Like Eurus. The world's probably better off not knowing about her. JW
You: You're going to publish the logs into a book? - SH
That actually sounds like a god idea. - SH
We'll have to revisit old cases and add details. - SH
You: *good
Stranger: You could help me, if you'd like. JW
You: I think your style of writing would be more palpable for a child. But I can remind you of details. - SH
Stranger: I thought, you know, if something happens to us. JW
She'll have that. JW
You: Stop thinking like that, John. - SH
Stranger: I can't help it. JW
Something about having kids. They remind you of your own mortality. JW
You: They're supposed to make you think of happy times. No use dwelling on the future. - SH
Stranger: It's hard not to think about the future. JW
You: It used to be that way for me. Now I focus on the present. - SH
You: You can't control your future without controlling your present. - SH
Stranger: Are you back to being a therapist again? JW
You: No. I spout nonsense sometimes. New habit, trying to get rid of it. - SH
Stranger: As habits go, it could be worse. JW
You: True. - SH
Still, I'd rather not sound like a greeting card all the time. - SH
Stranger: Trust me, I've never seen a greeting card that sounded like Sherlock Holmes. JW
You: New career choice? - SH
Gross, don't mention that to anybody. - SH
Stranger: You've got to be careful what you say around me now. I might put it in my book. JW
You: Do not do that. - SH
You: I can go days without speaking, remember? - SH
Stranger: Except I still get texts from you on those days. JW
You: Sometimes I need you to fetch me something. - SH
Stranger: I'm glad I'm so invaluable to you. JW
You: You really are. - SH
Stranger: I'm putting Victor Trevor in the book, if that's okay. JW
He deserves to be remembered too. JW
I really didn't want people to be mean to Arwel. I always thought he was honestly just so chuffed that ppl were appreciating his work because the focus is always on those in front of the screen rather than behind & since tfp spoilers I've been really worried about him getting backlash. Like I don't think ppl realise that ppl associated with the show on that level really do not understand/get invested in fandom. My heart hurts a bit for him 3
The man is not used to having fans, I guess he had no idea how to deal with it so he kept giving us what we wanted. He has also no idea how far emotional involvement can go and that people were dead serious about this. Seriously don’t blame arwel.
This. This is my feelings right here. I always felt people were reading way too much into the elephant pics (I love you all but we do sometimes reach) and Arwel was just chuffed to have people talking to him. Normally the set designers don’t get much love from fans, and suddenly he’s exploding with people following him, sending him pics, etc. he probably just wanted to play along and be a part of it, not realizing that people were taking every elephant pic as verifiable proof that Johnlock was a sure thing.
Please guys. Don’t hate on Arwel. And don’t disregard his apology either. He sounds like a very genuine person, and I truly believe he meant no harm.
Okay but Sherlock put the recording device into John's cane somehow like can you imagine being in John's house and taking it in and missing him and feeling that flutter of fear in his stomach because what if he's killing himself for no reason? What if John doesn't come in time? He had three weeks worth of recordings in that cane. He probably heard John talking to Mary and arguing with her and telling he missed her oh my god I'm so dead
I’m sat at work going through the Sherlock tag and laughing maniacally because Russia leaked TFP and it’s the same as the BFI Screening and I want to have faith because I know what I want to happen. And the possibility of the Clue theory being true is the only thing that keeps me hopeful because China and Russia would heavily censor this episode if what I want to happen happens. But I’m still hopeful. I still believe in them. I still think they will do what is right in this beautiful, brilliant, clever way that no one has ever seen coming.
But there’s also the possibility that this is real. This is it. It’s not clever. We don’t get the happy ending we’ve been wanting and will have to settle. I’m laughing so hard right now because this all seems so ridiculous. Too clever and too in-depth for a simple TV show to be.
I want Mofftiss to be this playful, clever production team that tricks us and really pulls the rug with a new ending but there’s these brutal little words whispering to me in the back of my mind that make me want to break down into tears through my laughter.
“That’s your weakness. You always want everything to be clever.”
No but has anyone mentioned the last conversation that John shared with Mary? It sounded like we'd stumbled into the middle of an argument, just very controlled and tame. Mary says something like, "You don't make it easy, do you? Being so perfect." She looks so done, so tired. Her head is in her hands, and John looks pained. They're talking about Rosie, but not happily. When Mary says she needs to catch up on her bedtime stories with Rosie, she looks sad. And you clearly see she knows that isn't going to happen. Why would she say that? Where is the context? Why were they both so uncomfortably sitting so far apart from each other? What were they discussing between the comments about Rosie? And why is John drinking again? Why is he drinking so much, what were they discussing? I feel like there's so much more to this conversation than what they've shown us. Like the answer to what kind of man Mary wanted him to be. Because John is not a serial adulterer. He's a good man, he's just in a bad place right now. So what kind of man? What did Mary want him 'to get the hell on with'?
Sherlock keeps thinking back go that scene on the beach. Something happened there with his sister and Redbeard. Something traumatic. The girl is obviously a psychopath. What if she...killed Redbeard? It would explain why he was so adamant about not getting close/trusting anyone completely.
