Sun flower, Lisianthus
Sun flower: What brings you happiness?
Louise, my wife, above all others and of course my studies. I would do anything to protect Louise from harmās way and to learn what ever I can discover from books and from the mouths of othersā.Ā
Lisianthus: What do you appreciate?
Louise's support and the aid. It was because of her determination to protect me with her bow that led me to choose her to be my wife after all. She is unlike the other women I've encounter and I truly am thankful she is by my side.Ā
Irises
Irises: Do you have words worth spreading? Wise words?
Trust in yourself and protect those around you. If you cannot believe in your own strength, you wonāt be able to shield your loved ones from danger.Ā
Flower Asks
Roses: Who is your love interest? Lilacs: Do you consider yourself beautiful and innocent? Irises: Do you have words worth spreading? Wise words? Gladiolus: Are you violent? Lilies: Have you lost someone important to you? Protea: Are you courageous? Peony: Are you lucky? Orchid: Are you a charming person? Statice: What do you like to remember? Sun flower: What brings you happiness? Lisianthus: What do you appreciate? Sweet pea: Are you delicate or sweet? Tulip: Are you elegant or graceful? Hydrangea: Have you endured/suffered for beauty? Fresia: Who is your best friend?
My, my... Hair of Louise and eyes mirroring my own? I wonder...
Good evening, father. I need a word with you, if you can spare the time?
"Good evening to you as well, young sir," the mage responded calmly before without fully comprehending the boy's words, "I...beg your pardon? Did you just refer to me as your father?" he raised an eyebrow curiously, he was certain he'd never seen this boy before--let alone have a son his age.
Louise had just given birth, but their child was barely a year old.
"DAD!" she shouted out with a pout to her face. Even though her father did allow the one or another joke, he never actually questioned his children... Did he fall on the head? Or was he making a really mean joke just now. "Yes. I said ancient magic. Actually, one of your old friends offered to teach me." She lied through her teeth, Canas did anything but offer it to her.
āOld friend?" Pent whispered, was she referring to Canas? A shaman with knowledge of elder magic, he certainly did meet the criteria, āAncient magic is far too dangerous. This old friend of mine did explain that to you, yes?" he then said, examining the girl carefully. Her hair and features resembled Louiseās but her eyes closely matched his own. Could she really be speaking the truth and she was in fact his daughter? Impossible, he first thought, but then again he suppose there were still too many mysteries in this world he has yet to fully understand.
But he decided against to uncover the answer now and so he spoke again, āForgive me, but are you certain I am your father?" there was a chance he may resemble another, Etruria was a large territory after all, āI only have one child that I am aware of, a son named Klein but no daughter. Unless my wife has beenā¦concealing some secrets."
"Daaa~d." she sang in her sweetest voice that could only mean one thing: She wanted something. "What would you think if I learned ancient magic and became a shaman?"
āPardon me, little one but did you address me as your father?ā He blinked, bewildered by this girlās presence. He certainly did not recognize her, though she harbored many features of Louise which he found most interesting.
āAnd did you say ancient magic?ā He ask, his curiosity now peeked. The last time he read or spoke of the subject was with Canas during the plight against Nergal with Lord Eliwood and company. Ā
"Ah erm Lord Pent... If you could find the time, would you mind showing me your.... library?"
āCanas! Why, of courseāyou need not ask!āĀ
Distracted; Open!
It was nightfall by the time the Etrurian mageĀ decidedĀ to leave library, he had lost track of the time. He was always fond of books about history and magic, he always found time to gain more knowledge--even when there wasn't enough to spare throughout the day.Ā
Clutching a borrowed book securely in his arm, Pent tightened the fasten of his cape with a free hand and pulled up his hood to conceal his face before setting off into the night. The air was brisk tonight and instead of shielding most of his skin from the cold, he instead began flipping through the pages of the thick book in his hands.Ā
It was a novel explaining the history of ancient magic, he had began reading inside the library but decided to take it home. It was a fascinating read and surely Louise would indeed finding it quite intriguing. Though not a magic-user, she still was interested in Pent's works.Ā
Flipping through the pages, the mage general's mind instantly warped to a different reality, his sight completely blinded by the dangers that walked the lands of Etruria.Ā
Ack!
He heard someone exclaim, lifting his gaze upward only to find that he had indeed collided with another by accident, "My apologies! This was my fault...I should have paid more attention to my surroundings!"
