Embracing the Renaissance

Humanism and a focus on human's potential were the main characteristics of Renaissance.

King Fiorentino in order to follow the zeitgeist created a small council of people that embraced these values.

Among them were Arcanzola Gregory, the first dean of the recently founded university, Clemetia Coccie a scientist and doctor who wrote an encyclopaedia on medicine, and Bertino Smythe, an artist.

Offering oneself for the common good

When the plague reached Mandreagoria, young couple Wilhem and Innocentia Doriei, had just had a baby.

Without second thoughts, Wilhem joined his friend's, Caspian, effort to find a cure. Caspian Coccie was a person with fresh ideas and kind of anorthodox ways to make them work. And above all Caspian needed someone to try his medicines.

It was Wilhem's choice to help him with that. He tried medicine after medicine, until his body couldn't take anymore and, tragically, died. But his sacrifice was not in vain, as soon enough Caspian found the right cure that helped many.

Pandemic in Mandreagoria

It was in the mid 1300's when a merchant brought bubonic plague to Mandreagoria. The small country's population then dropped from 13000 to 4880. Many patients were moved to the monastery's hospital, and prayed for the best.

The items I used for this hospital include, among others, tarox's medieval bathroom. All credits go to them, but since their site is long gone, I upload the set here.

The celebrations for King Constantine's coronation, lasted a whole month!

King Constantine was considered a good king, who prioritized infrastructure and education. He demonstrated wisdom, and promote peace and stability.

During his reign, he laid the foundations of the university , he built walls around the historic center , and renovated the aqueduct system.

The Barelksons were a family with a peculiar habit. They liked to howl outside, whenever it was full moon.

After a long hiatus, Mandreagoria is back. The first family I visited were the Gibsons. Thomasina Gibson, was a midwife and a student of botanology, and often spent her time taking notes about plants of her town.
