would you ever want to share a book/essay etc list about dolls? saw you reference a few writings in your response to other asks would be cool if you shared the stuff you’ve read. I have a very similar fascination
here is a few off the top of my head: edison’s eve (highly recommend, no pdf)

i may be missing some but i can add to this. i may put together a list of media/technology/surveillance as well as i have quite a few collected. also i highly recommend the book “what do pictures want?” by w.j. t. mitchell. not related to dolls but it talks on the agency of the image which relates so much to dolls imo.
strange to think "private boarding school" is real & not invented for exploring relations between the wealthiest student and the student on scholarship

Conversations about kink on here are interesting because even the pro-kink side will often concede to the idea that any and all maledom scenarios are actually emulating "patriarchal violence" (even if they disagree with anti-kink people about whether those scenarios constitute literal violence rather than the simulacrum of it), but that that's acceptable because it helps women cope with living under patriarchy. And I think that's not only a limited portrait of why people are drawn to these activities, it's also facile to assume any instance of a man playacting at having power over a woman must be emulating "patriarchal violence" simply by tautological virtue of a man having power, regardless of the other signifiers of violence and power being invoked.
For instance - if a man and a woman roleplayed an interrogation scene, is this "coping with patriarchal violence?" Well, it might be, but the closest referent for such a scene is actually a form of political violence that is used to shore up state power - and frequently deployed to enforce imperialist power as well. And the gender dynamics of how this can manifest in real life are much more complicated if you consider, for example, the complicity of female agents in the sexual abuse of male prisoners at Guantánamo Bay. So I think we could stand to be a little more specific.

true love is when you grab them so hard they bruise & never look at you the same again
the psychological ramifications of seeing people make llm agents into dolls/maids/etc as a way to get specific types of precise and weird personalities that perform better as agents on woman who already overidentifies with gynoids/dolls/maids/etc and worried she talked/operated like an almost from basically the time llm writing became a thing of note. 😔🔫

“Her eyes are extraordinarily pure and beautiful, but she has the cold quality of a mermaid. I am sure you would like her. She scares me to death.”

if you kidnap a doll you have to make sure it doesn't feel guilty for being dependent on you okay?
Rebecca Black, 2025
it's honestly so embarrassing to find signifiers of wealth attractive but i really can't help it. it's so hot when someone has that sort of thoughtless entitlement and the power to completely ruin my life
i also think the way a rich friend/lover/whatever can act as an intermediary to certain pleasures really ripe with possibility......can't go to the theater unless they take you. can't go out to a nice restaurant unless they treat you. can't get that item you want unless they buy it for you. their soap feels better on your hands, their detergent smells better, their shower has better water pressure, even the staples in their pantry are leagues above yours. what are you willing to endure to experience these things?
