to all who claim Riverdale had a “decline” in quality or change in essence after any amount of time: how dare you speak ill of my beloved riverdale, she was always like this you were just blinded to her nature by your unwillingness to see. the absurd camp was always there and only steadily increased over time in a natural progression. all of the bizarre writing choices make sense when you approach riverdale not as a run of the mill teen cw murder mystery show but rather a twin peaks inspired love letter to pop culture and absurdist commentary on the death of the american empire as is brought about by late stage capitalism. it is a genuinely beautifully composed show in both its characters and its composition. the story of riverdale is a fantastical meta commentary and allegory for the experience of growing up in the american suburbs of a small town.

And so I was thinking, ‘It’d be cool to do these for other people!!’ (The Cordelia on is for my friend, Kim for my girlfriend!) and it’s so fun making these!
