I do find it mildly annoying that canonically queer male characters in the Archieverse are almost always depicted as gay or entirely disinterested in women, to the point that it’s seen as laughable for them to be into girls. Whereas all the queer female characters have to be open to men in some way

#bi rep is very important and i’m glad there is so much of it in archie #but it’s very odd to me that they have a handful of gay male characters and no lesbians #why not make cheryl a lesbian if they’re going to go the choni route??? or write a new lesbian character if they don’t want to disrupt the #love triangle???#it reeks of internal bias idk #and on a similar note we need more bi male characters!!! not all of them have to be kevin 2.0 #i do want to be very very clear that i am NOT saying we need less bi characters. im saying that we need more lesbians #archie comics #cheryl blossom #kevin keller #not gonna tag every single bi lady bcuz again. the issue isn’t rly that there are a lot of bi women #discourse #lesbian #second disclaimer. having a lot of gay dudes isn’t a problem either #in fact they could stand to make jughead a little less interested in women at times

Betty and Veronica corner Archie at Pops. He stares at them wide eyed as they sit side by side across from him in the booth glancing at each other but not saying anything. “What’s up?”

Veronica sighs. “Archie, we need your help.”

His eyes ping pong between the two of them and, seeing it was serious, he puts his burger down. “Of course. Whatever you need.”

Betty smiles at him and, after a quick sweep to make sure no one was paying them any attention, slides her hand to the right until it reaches Veronica’s. She entwined their fingers, looking at her girlfriend for a moment just to see the matching smile on her face, before looking back at Archie. He looks confused but then his eyes go wide.

“Really?” He grins, his excitement sweet, if not a bit too attention-grabbing. “Congratulations! Good for you guys, but… what do you need help with? Looks like you figured it out without me.”

SoSo Gas
