Restless

Long days at work

Long nights with whiskey

Black and mild smoke

Like my life's history

Going with the wind

Expectation is suddenly

Grasping my mind now

Yet failure through scrutiny

It empowers my drive

Then inspires my memory

An insect fighting the burn

From a light he adores

For he knows it will kill him

Yet he needs it more

Than the life that's laid out

As he falls to the floor

He then understood 

What his abdomen bore

A second chance at life

Breathing in what's in store

Subtle foot steps around

As the night it thickens 

Some lay to rest

As I have only awoken

A slight glow from the moon

With few words unspoken

For my mind is a puzzle

With a key almost broken

Who holds it is a mystery
