Cough Cough - Everything Everything
Phenomenal sound, great video. I expect some big things from these guys.

Cough Cough - Everything Everything
Phenomenal sound, great video. I expect some big things from these guys.
Where Is My Mind? - Placebo + Pixies
Originally by the Pixies and featured in the cult-classic, Fight Club, "Where Is My Mind?" is covered here by Placebo, with a little help from Black Francis, the frontman of the Pixies.
Mantra - Dave Grohl/Josh Homme/Trent Reznor
A brilliant mashup of minds - Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters/Nirvana, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails - this song comes from the documentary, Sound City. Starts off mellow, ends with a strong, gritty, but refined sound.
Sacrilege - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
New and exciting stuff from the NYC-based band, new album Mosquito. The song draws ties to some of material by "TV on the Radio," another phenomenal band. Starts off quieter and ends with a gospel belting it. Oomph. Heavy.
Demon to Lean On - Wavves
Probably classified as garage rock/grunge, the singing is hardly polished, the instrumentation is straight out of a 90s song, and lyrics far from intelligible. But damn, that chorus is catchy.
Be My Girl and Let's Get Away - Mashup Germany
Definitely an unorthodox remix, but it works. It's a mash up of:
Are You Gonna Be My Girl? - Jet
Let's Get Away - Lenny Kravitz
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk
Cash Machine - Hard-Fi
All The Time - The Strokes
The next single off of the Strokes' new upcoming album, Comedown Machine. Seems like a more subdued tribute to the songs from their earlier days. Brilliant either way, can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
Mi Amor - Senses Fail
This metal/punk/rock band from New Jersey is slated to release their next album, Renacer, in the next few months; this is the first single. Fun fact: the band said that they always wanted to record a song in Spanish...so here it is!
Beta Love - Ra Ra Riot
Since the departure of the band's cellist, Ra Ra Riot has taken a route of more synthpop. 'Beta Love' sounds fairly Mika -- fun and upbeat.
Kelly - Van She
Van She, hailing from Australia, provide a catchy 80s inspired tune -- heavy synths, echoed vocals. Also, if you're into dance remixes, I definitely recommend the "Alan Braxe & Fred Falke Remix."
Barber of Seville Overture - Rossini
Whether you are "cultured" or have seen Bugs Bunny, you have most certainly heard this piece sometime in your life (skip to 2:00). Rossini has been nicknamed the "Italian Mozart" and for a period of time, the most popular opera composer of all time. The music invokes much imagery and emotion -- definitely one of my favorite pieces.
Firewater - Django Django
No, they have nothing to do with Tarentino's new film, "Django: Unchained." Django Django is a "psychedelic alt-rock band" from London. Their sound is different, fresh. This one's almost a blue-sie.
Marble Attic - Morning Parade
A young, heralded band out of the UK -- their sound is slightly heavier than conventional brit-pop. Their single, "Headlights," was pretty successful as well. This is a b-side, which sadly, is not available for purchase in digital form (a shame because this is one of their stronger songs). The guitar is very reminiscent of The Bravery's "Bad Sun."
Ruby (Live) - Kaiser Chiefs
A great performance by the British rock band, Kaiser Chiefs. After early success, their newest album, "The Future is Medieval," wasn't nearly as popular and the band has since (kind of) faded. The crowd in this performance is absolutely amazing.
Sleep On Needles - Sondre Lerche
A Norwegian indie singer. This song was featured on Google's Nexus commercials ("Google, how much does the Earth weigh?").
Lights - American Authors (Ellie Goulding Cover)
An amazing acoustic cover of Ellie Goulding's hit single "Lights."
Global Concepts - Robert Delong
Slightly alternative, slight influences of electronic and dance. Neat drums too.
