i think that matt is interesting when he is allowed to demonstrate his capacity for violence bc he operates daily from a sense of deeply-rooted morality and justice (or injustice), hyperaware of the endless and minute repercussions of violence. also because there are different kinds of violence. i think frank is interesting when he is allowed to demonstrate his capacity for gentleness bc his daily language is that of violence. he exists solely in that violence. he operates from a place of violence. i think the two of them together present the most interesting dynamic because as anti-hero and tragic hero they are often paralleled and yet fundamentally opposed. neither of them capable of understanding the other and yet the only ones capable of understanding the other

Falling, Florence + the Machine // The Fall of Icarus, Rene Milot // Fallen Angel, Andreas Birath
Currently thinking about how much I love Matt's gentle and soothing tone of voice and his soft-spokenness, which reminded me of how Kevin Smith (a DD comic book writer) described Charlie Cox' voice as Matt Murdock as sounding like someone who had trained their voice to be as smooth and soothing as possible after having to hear EVERYTHING most of his life- "Soft and low, like a man who can hear everything trying to bring the noise down." and I'm honestly in love with this description because I feel like it adds a layer of complexity to Matt's psyche character.
