Welcome to the Christmasstuck Project 2.0: A Preface and Info on Auditions
If you were involved in the previous project, let me first sincerely apologize for how the project ended last year. I can promise that will not be the case this year. I’ve changed quite a lot and I believe that the load will be a lot easier on everyone, especially myself.
If you were not here last year, allow me to explain what the project is all about!
The Christmasstuck Project was started to be a fandom-wide collaboration of art, voice acting, singing, writing, and all kind of other things, compiled into videos. The aim was to tell the story of the troll’s first Christmas on Earth (in an alternate universe, of course.) Because it was such a massive undertaking, and I was not a very great planner, the project ultimately dropped off with only one success story, being “You’re A Mean One, Spider8itch” sung by Doc Scratch.
I was asked multiple times over the course of the last few months if I was going to restart it. Originally, I had no intent to do so, but when there was a relatively large amount of support from people who had been involved last year, I decided to try again.
You don’t have to have a specific talent to be involved in Christmasstuck 2.0. You just have to be dedicated enough to see it through to the end.
The Auditions for singing and voice acting will start from this exact moment until November 10th at midnight CST. I will not announce parts until after callbacks happen (if they are needed) and production will begin immediately after that. There will be deadlines for lines and songs, and if you don’t meet those deadlines, I will cut your part down.
How to Audition for a Singing/Voicing Role Role:
For Singing: Sing a Christmas song in-character. It MUST be a Christmas song. For Voicing: You can read the pesterlog of your choice.
Upload it to tindeck, YouTube, or tumblr and submit it to the blog. This year, I am not going to accept e-mailed auditions unless you ask me beforehand. It’ll make it easier for other people to help me judge.
Wait patiently for feedback.
If you are asked to read or sing for a callback, you’ll be notified on the 10th. Information on callbacks will be TBA.
You can audition for multiple roles, but chances are you will only be cast in one. If you can sing and voice the same character well, you will most likely be cast in both roles. But know that not every character will be in the project this time. Who auditions as who will determine how I write the script and add/change songs.
The following characters will definitely have a Voicing Role:
The following characters will definitely have a Singing Role:
All of the Beta and Alpha kids
Most of the Post-Scratch trolls
Please spread the word around that the project is back and in action so that I can know who is interested and how much I can expect to get out of it. Get those auditions in, as well.
