I love how in aa1 Phoenix is all like "I know what it's like to have the whole world against you. When I was 9 I was accused of stealing lunch money" like dude, didn't your girlfriend try to frame you for murder?

I'm pretty on board with the headcanon that what Link gets out of being the bearer of the Triforce of Courage is the power of being a video game protagonist, but I genuinely can't decide whether it would be funnier if he's 100% aware of how much bullshit his everything is, or if he honestly doesn't realise.
Like, does he know that normal people can't recover from life-threatening wounds in a matter of minutes by drinking a jar of really good soup? It's the sort of thing you'd assume would be obvious just from being around other human beings, and yet.
The fact that Breath of the Wild Link's laser-parrying trick is something that only works for him is made explicit in the dialogue, so presumably he's at least aware that it's exceptional, but does he understand that it's complete bullshit, or does he think it's just a skill issue?
Link: No, that's fair, if I fuck up the timing I have to eat a laser to the chest and that is, understandably, extremely painful, so I don't recommend you practice this unless you're really confident about your timing.
Random Guard:...Link people die if they take those to the chest.
Link: I mean you should be angling yourself, i'm not saying to just let your sternum take a whole blow, to just take it square, that's a terrible idea
Random Guard: It explodes rocks.
Link: You have armor for a reason my guy.
Random Guard: ...
Link: If it helps, drinking some fire resist potions has proven to be moderately effective for me.
Random Guard: The Ones you apply to your skin?
Link: What
Random Guard: What
If you don't know it's dangerous, it can't hurt you

I've wanted to paint a Zelda piece for years but I had to wait until I had an idea truly worth doing.

"I hate how American media will just make up a European nation rather than do any research, so I'm going to get back at them by writing a story set in a fake American state" like, do you have the slightest idea how much American media is set in a geographically impossible fictional small town located in no particular state and characterised entirely by some guy from Los Angeles' collection of half-remembered stereotypes about the American Midwest? They've already got the "lazily inventing fictional parts of America" bit locked down.
No, if you want to play the Uno reverse card on American media, what you need to do isn't to make up a fake state: you specifically need to wilfully misrepresent southern California.
FULL DOWNLOAD! The Mob Psycho 100 Official Fan Book
Whew! It's been busy lately, y'all. Just in the past few weeks, I have... (1) Received the final (for now) round of developmental edits for my debut novel back from my agent (2) Gotten a new boyfriend (3) Taken the train back and forth between my hometown and Chicago to see said boyfriend (4) Adopted a senior cat <3 (5) Been given a huge responsibility at work Now I can add "finished proofreading my Mob Psycho 100 Fan Book translations" to the list! :)
I rather detest Google as a company, but I think Google Drive is the most widely accessible means of sharing a bunch of files with a bunch of folks, so that's what I went with. Please let me know if you aren't able to download the files or run into any other problems. Enjoy!
For speed runners, this is canon.
Hey! Spin this wheel of Every Pokémon!
This is now your Pokémon Partner. Whatever you would want to do in the Pokémon world, your Result goes with you. It would be your Ace in Battles and/or contests or they might just help you around with your regular Not-Inherently-Pokémon Job or just hang around your house as your beloved Pet. If you really really want to BE a Pokémon than this is the Pokémon you just turned into.
How are you feeling about it?
HELL YEAH!! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE POKEMON!!
OH!! I LOVE THIS POKEMON!!
Yeah, this Pokemon is great!!!
This Pokemon is good!!
This Pokemon is nice, but nothing more
...I mean, it could be better
This Pokemon is okay…
I have mixed feelings about this Pokemon…
Not bad, but I’m still kinda disappointed…
Well… it could be worse?
I mean, at least it’s better than NOT having a Pokemon, right?
OH NO THIS IS ACTUALLY WORSE!!
This scene is so funny because the answer to their question is laughably obvious.
Maomao would rather die than acknowledge it, but THIS is the type of person the girls were imagining:
These ladies have never met Lakan—they don’t know him either by face or character—yet his personality was what they had been expecting when they were told they were getting to meet the man who raised Maomao.
Fullmetal alchemist saying over and over again nothing breaks equivalent exchange nothing can deny it, it is the single rule at the core of this world, it is the one immutable thing, it cannot be changed it cannot be altered, an eye for an eye, an arm for an arm a leg for a leg. For hundreds of chapters. And then it says except... and you say "except?" and it says except...freely-given sacrifice. To love someone so much that you would give up all your power for them. That's worth a soul.
eelektross for @wyvern-tales! thank you so much!
It just really gets to me that 10 year old Mob walked into Reigen’s office looking for anyone who could give him advice about his powers that are scaring him. And Reigen looked at him and went “This baby child is absolutely delusional, but he looks like he needs someone to say something important to him right now.” And Reigen spun up some bullshit on the spot that became the guiding compass of Mob’s life.
And it’s very important to clarify that Reigen did not -accidentally- give Mob good advice. Because one of Reigen’s most distinct traits is his ability to come up with genuine advice and tell people what they need to be told. But he’ll do this on the spot. He’ll do it wrapped in bullshit. He’ll camp it alongside some conman string. He’ll go along with anything. He’ll pretend anything is true. The grift is, in fact, integral of it.
And I love this dichotomy in him because he’s so precariously set up at all moments to topple. For anyone to call him on his bullshit and use that to dismantle everything he’s said. He was lying. He was scamming you. He was using you.
And yes, he was. But it wasn’t really for service of the con. It was for service of the customer, who needed to hear something important.
A terrified 10 year old walked in because his powers had just hurt his little brother and he was feeling so alone in the world and so dangerous and so scared. And Reigen saved him the way Reigen does best.
clearing out my drafts… kids just say the darndest things
The whole Claw arc at the end of season 1 is 10/10 no notes, but one of the funniest parts to me is the whole first half where Ritsu is kidnapped and Mob is knocked out and Teru is violating the Geneva Convention, they still make sure to dedicate at least 4 minutes of screentime per episode to whatever absolutely stupid unrelated bullshit Reigen is up to.
Like the A plot is waterboarding a terrorist but also don’t worry, we will still cut to the doesn’t-even-qualify-as-a-D-plot stupidventure Reigen is on, just so you know he’s up to literally nothing.
