🎓 Sponsor a university student from Gaza… and give them a real opportunity for the future
Despite the difficult circumstances faced by university students in Gaza, there are still talented and ambitious young people who simply need a real opportunity to learn, train, and launch their careers.
At the Isnad Foundation , we are launching a specialized field training program for university students in engineering and software disciplines, preparing them for the job market.
The program aims to provide students with practical training in an environment that simulates the real job market, so that each student leaves with:
✔️ A real project in their portfolio
✔️ Real-world practical experience
✔️ Completion of their field course
✔️ Skills that qualify them for freelance work or employment
After a four-day break for Eid al-Adha, we're back today with three donors contributing $175. This means we've sponsored three and a half students so far, and we need six more. Donate now $25 or $50 to sponsor a student.
Four out of ten students were sponsored in the field training program. Each share is worth $50. Students will receive field training in Gaza in a safe learning environment, complete the field training course at the university, undertake real-world projects, and enter the job market.
Registration for the field training is open, but we can only accommodate 3 out of 10 applicants. Registration closes in two days, and we haven't received enough funding to train the students.
It's summer vacation, and we will strive to ensure that Gaza students use this time to learn a new digital skill to develop themselves. This is where your role comes in: to empower them and provide them with this opportunity. 38 students are waiting for their chance to receive field training, but we can only accommodate 3 students.
- I changed his hair back to his original hairstyle. The bangs sweeping over his eyepatch are an interesting touch, but I missed the messiness of his og hair. The half-up style I also removed, but that’s just personal preference.
- replaced his hoodie with a cardigan that he wears around his waist, similar to his Graduation Day skin. I also changed the text to the Chinese name for IDV and put it on the sleeves in an effort to stylize it a little more.
- gave him a Luca-themed choker, because I can, and because it replaces the collar in his original design. The idea behind the redesign is an OPH.LUCA that uses his esports persona to escape from the pressures of his life and be a little nerdy. From what we saw in the trailer, his true passion is IDV esports, so I wanted to give him merch that was a little more interesting to reflect the character he mains. I’d like to think he made it himself, being a crafty guy.
- gave him jeans. I just don’t like the shorts. He’s never had shorts, and OPH.LUCA is lacking his leg braces. They missed an opportunity to show them off a little. (I also forgot them on the redesign but just pretend they’re there oops)
- he doesn’t have a jacket anymore. Instead I gave him a t shirt with pinstripes (callback to his prison uniform :/ ) and a compression shirt. This is mostly my personal style bias. I did want to make him look more open though, since the official OPH.LUCA is a bit too cool and nonchalant for my tastes.
I don’t think my redesign is the best. I just wanted to experiment with a direction the skin could have taken.
This might just be me, but I really don’t think Luca is a shorts and hoodie kind of man. The turtleneck actually works to add some academic charm, but it’s almost completely covered by that nothing gray hoodie. It is not saved by having arial font Identity V print on it. All I’m getting is they really wanted him to have the look of a genius gamer guy who doesn’t have the brainpower to spare on picking clothing. That works out fine for Luca’s character, but then again, the skin has a sleek turtleneck, which implies some sort of stylistic effort on Luca’s part here. His look would be so much better if they made the hoodie a jacket and opened it to make the turtleneck more obvious.
Luca’s definitely allowed to be lackadaisical with his outfit styling, because he isn’t really concerned with his reputation. In his Ivory Tower skin, he sports a very messy look, because he just can’t be bothered to conform to dress codes when there’s inventing to be done. If they were going for the same thing with the OPH skin, why have Luca wear layers with intentionality? Why make the decision to give him an IDV merch hoodie? And why couldn’t they just make him stylish in the first place? After all, this is a skin meant to market first and foremost.
What they’ve done with OPH.LUCA is they’ve taken his base design, turned it grayscale to sap all his color away, and slapped the IDV name on it. His signature smile is gone, smoothed over. His hair isn’t brown. He’s not even allowed to be lazy with his outfit in an interesting way.
